      @@meghanachauhan9380 That's not even the point. This plastic pollution is killing wildlife and endangering species. Whatever this pollution has an impact on our health or not, isn't the question. We must do something about this plastic pollution no matter what if it's affecting human or not.

      It's not just that. I live on Maui and our dump here is teeming with plastic being blown away from the dump to the ocean, the problem got so bad that we had to ban plastic bags (which had no real effects on stores). It's been proven even that not only gas pollution but physical pollution can travel miles to the sea. I remember a few months living here debris from Japan after the earthquake floating all the way to Hawaii and having to check every single Japanese debris for radiation. Our society of 7 billion can no longer throw out waste by doing what we've been doing for literally since the beginning of humankind, burying it underground or burning it.

    Corporations and Businesses should also be held liable for using plastic on their products or packaging.
    The problem is that consumers always get the blame for 'not recycling' but most of the stuff that we throw out are not recyclable (ex: how do you reuse an old toothbrush after repurposing it??)
    Goverments should tax plastic businesses heavily to force everyone to resort to biodegradeable products like paper cups, paper bags etc. and use these tax for clean up purposes

    The solution is to simply stop using disposable plastic. It starts with the individual. You. Spread the word, share the video, live by example. Refuse straws, plastic shopping bags, coffee cups, water bottles, food containers, styrofoam in any form. People complain about plastic, exclaim how horrible the problem is yet won't lift one finger or change one iota of their precious disposable lives to make a difference. It's certainly not easy, but it can be done. Stop your self-righteous complaining and start acting. As one example, don't ever buy another product that is made from Styrofoam or is packaged in styrofoam. Then spread the word, tell people, your family, your friends, the people you can influence. If enough people did this, styrofoam would cease to exist. If manufacturers couldn't sell their products because people refused to buy them packaged in plastic, then they would change the packaging. Viola, difference made. Stop being shocked and start acting now.

    I live in Japan, I love this country and almost every single thing about it... But... it's convenient society and the old tradition of wrapping things beautifuly has moved into a modern times of plastic.
    I honestly feel disappointed and heart broken at the use of "one time plastics" that has integrated into people thinking and lifestyle. Single plastic wrapped bananas, snack rice balls (onigiri) with 3 layers of plastic, meat from the grocery store with a printed plastic lettuce as "decoration" ...
    When you go to the grocery store the store attendant already has 3 plastic bag that are different shapes and sizes ready for you before you can say "no bag please!"
    Soooooo much of the time the "convenient" plastic ends up in the river, streams and oceans.
    The big river that flows from the mountains down to Tokyo out into the ocean is littered with so much garbage, it honestly makes me feel sick... The garbage I see will end up on this island oneday....
    Honestly Japan needs more education and more forward thinking but there so many people who just don't give a shit about the environment or the detrimental mentality that will slowly poison the planet...
    A big problem it's not just Japan, but every country people need more education and the most biggest thing is, they need to care...
    You can love a country and its people and traditions but you don't have to love what they do...

    It's a responsibility of entire humanity to work on this issue, instead of blaming any continent, race, locality and any other division that they think, there is a need to solve these problems on priority and unitedly. Focus on the bottle caps, plastic bottles it's showing, it's reflecting brand names and just think of origin from where these brands originated. Large/medium/small corps will continue to make money out of selling these things, but just think twice before going for these options which are acting as a source of disappearing of living species. Rulers of the past/current/future world used/is using/will use division among the civilizations for their benefit of making money, keeping their lands out of any troubles and much more. Don't let this happen to you, think wisely, as a resident of this planet and not specific country/land/region, your decision or choice will define what the future generations would be able see or enjoy! Keep waters/environment/land clean and literate surrounding before it would be too late!

    Ban single use plastic. Use more paper as packaging. Paper is better as a recyclable material that can be reused to make new things. You can regrow trees but you can't regrow oil to make plastic.

    If people recycled their plastic instead of throwing it in the ocean, there would be no need to produce more plastic as we instead would just melt it down and form it into a new thing. It should be a law that said anything you buy that has plastic in it, for example a plastic bag, you have to return it back to be reused, and if you threw it into the nature instead you would get a fine

      He's on a private jet, which was chartered for the crew. The aircraft charter gets their food (including water bottles) from a food company specializing in aviation catering. Why you think that's his fault is beyond me. Also, he probably recycled it lol

    • @bethelyoda
      @bethelyoda 6 років тому

      Perhaps because he's on a long flight on a small chartered plane, flying to an island with no potable water....??? I get it, people saying that he's "part of the problem," but there isn't really any other viable alternative for them. Probably an oversight that it was in the shot, or an oversight to not mention it if it was intentionally in the shot....

    • @psilocybemusashi
      @psilocybemusashi 6 років тому

      who said it did. most likely some of it does. Most deserts have severe rain when it falls. that rain carries your plastic to streams then to rivers then to oceans. what doesn't get carried there by rain gets blown by wind. your point is well taken though most of your plastic probably remains in a land fill like everyone elses. the problem is that even a small percentage causes a big problem as you can see.
