- We believe cycling transforms lives. It is a solution to problems personal and collective, a source of strength and friendship, a means of exploration and a tool of discovery. Riding is the answer.

More interested in his bike than the clothing! Love how they cycle to the top and then look fresh as a daisy, not a drop of sweat in sight!
Cole the Man + Gus=world class cameo's....also, what rapha lead designer croaked and let a Tie Dye Jersey & denim jacket on the scene? love that Sass. Perfect.
enjoyin this series
Bottle spin at 1:03 👌🏽
Nice! Good Video that about sums it up...All the best Andy
Lovin' the Allah Las
Great vid! Liked the cadence at the end.
Doe anyone know if the specialized pizza rack fits on diverge like shown or are modification needed?
loveeeeee
Cool bottle skills (again)
Just ride
Anyone know which LA route this is?
griffith park
I like this, but I dont know what the point is of shaming the man eating in the beginning of the video. I get the transition from the insanity of human life to serene bike riding, but felt that in particular was put in there to make some kind of point about unhealthiness, which isnt really necessary.
ridebikesdrinkbeer maybe its just a man eating and thats it....
Yeah I hope so. Perhaps Im being too sensitive to it, but it just seemed like a particular point was being made. I could be totally wrong. (probably am)
Imho there is definitely a point being made. These shots are there for a reason, as well as the guy being upset in his car and the people mindlessly staring at their smart phones at the cafe.
I get the contrast that they're trying to create, it's just a little bit too much of a high horse perspective...
My Something Random - the guy who was late also was talking about potty training his daughter and how he gives her a sticker every time she sits on the toilet. So his late arrival also represents the craziness of life. Lots of subtle messages in here
More I see the american landscapes and more I appreciate Europe. There's no game.
Looks not bad but I felt and thought that this is not Rapha style totally. Something weird. There is no pure smell of bike ride on the road in this video.
Because its probably the first riding video they have ever done with talking in it
Felt the same... Not the Rapha style that I met years ago
not true - there has been dialogue in Rapha films well before this pedestrian upload. @Max
The urban environment, maybe? Or the lack of club apparel, perhaps? I actually like the video; it presents the idea that you can just meet up with friends and go. Doesn't always need to be formal.
Except that that 'hipster' is a pro cyclist ...
Cyclinkpeople
:-9 Lost what Rapha was founded on. Too much LA hipster, too little cyclist. Where's the "glory through suffering"? Absent, sadly, in favor of heavy handed social judgement on those not cycling. Not terrible, but a lame departure from what inspired Rapha's existence in the first place.
I see what you're saying about social judgement (and agree), which is strange given the idea behind this series is to encourage more people to cycle. That's also why the "glory through suffering" is absent, as well as the formality.
Weaving quickly in and out of traffic, the hand on the car trunk, riding on a sidewalk (really, who rides on sidewalks) while taking your jacket off, and skidding to a stop...none of this makes me want to ride with these people or wear Rapha clothes.
Eric Jacobson this. Also, why is that one gentleman wearing a vest on a warm sunny day? I don’t get it.
...nor would these people want to ride with you. Obviously you have never done any urban cycling in a big metropolitan area or worked as a bike mesenger, his riding style is pretty much standard procedure. This isn't your weekend warrior- middle age-old wannabe cyclists that can only ride in straight lines-terrified of traffic.
Hey alex67castro, it's not cool to make assumptions and about other people. I've lived and cycled in three big metropolitan areas, including the one where this commercial is filmed, I commute by bike everyday in urban conditions, and have cycled in all sorts of conditions in the US and abroad. While I haven't worked as a bike messenger and what is shown here might be "standard procedure" for bike messengers, a wide range of studies show that (1) bike messengers choose style over safety and rationality; (2) bike messengers are at very high risk of injury, largely due to their own reckless riding style and how they choose to react to perceived demands placed on them to "hurry;" and (3) this reckless riding style contributes to road rage by motorists, which doesn't just put them at greater risk, but all cyclists. But speaking of people terrified of traffic, it's the guy in the commercial that's shown riding on a sidewalk. And while this may be "bike messenger" style riding, the guy in the ad isn't delivering anything. Why is he in such a hurry and riding in a reckless, bike messenger style when he's just riding to meet up with his friends? In the end, this is a marketing piece, and personally, this ad doesn't resonate with me at all and I just think there's better way to show the spirit of cycling in a way that unites cyclists and doesn't create an us vs. them mentality both within the cycling community (your "bike messenger" vs. "weekend warrior" description/divide is a good example) and also with non-cyclists.
@@Dadx4 well said, be safe out there!
A video this short is pretty pointless fro youtube.
YYYYAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSS ! ! ! ! ! !! ! !
To the question ... why don't you have any money?
something is missing.
The bottle spin that was featured in a previous years collection video returns, by the same rider!
Hopefully Michigan winter isn't too harsh, I get cranky with too few rides
outstanding! And June 7th...... I love that day. Purple rain
What is the helmet Angus (the guy with a denim jacket) is having on his head? i am looking for a "low profile" helmet for my big-ass head, so i dont look like a mushroom
If a rider showed up with a jacket tied around their waist...i'd be scared and offended.
not rapha
Yes this is the answer!!!
When i´m on my bike i don´t give a fuck if somebody is eating unhealthy, having stress in his car or looking at his smartphone. Really unnecessary to make this comparisons!!
nice
