I remember watching this show back when I was 5. I was around for the tail end of it’s run on Nickelodeon so I only have vague memories. For some reason though, the “Birthday Song” from this episode always sticks out in my mind. Great memories! Thanks for posting!
Thank you for sharing. Your grandmother seems to have been a wonderful lady. I used to attend a day care and the Elephant Show was the favorite show of all of the kids there. This episode I loved and I used to get so excited when I would see Grandma Bessie because it reminded me of my grandmother and the we shared.
This was one of my favorite episodes. Grandma Bessie seemed like such a sweet lady (and who could forget Fred's karate demonstration?!) I still crack up when Bram realizes he said "boiled chicken".
I used to get Bei Mir Bist Du Schoen stuck in my head all the time but I could never remember where I had originally heard it. Funny the tings you remember from your childhood.
aww rest in peace grandma bessie when i saw to watch this show you and daccia were my all time favourite in this episode i will never forget this wonderful episode
This episode has always been one of my favourites and watched with my girls many times. I just put this episode onto my youngest daughters facebook page as a happy birthday message to her (she is now grown with 3 children of her own) for all the memories this show helped create. So thank you...

Today is my 30th birthday so I chose to watch this. I know 7 is imporant birthday it is imaginary line most parents don't get but it marks entrance into being a big kid. 3-6 is a little kid 7-9 is big kod and 10-12 is a preteen. Yet grandparents seem to get that line.

The song in French is also the Clarabelle song in Howdy Doody
Since 1986
One of the birthday songs is based on a classical waltz, I heard an instrumental version
The Merry Widow Waltz
Thanks

Now I have the image of Sharon singing, "Whatever Lola Wants" ... 😂
