Hey Pete, I was one of the people who commented on the overwatch all thingy, I don't think it took away any of the achievement you made there. You had other options such as the lost you mentioned or overwatching from out of sight as others did, neither of which I would have been able to think up if I saw the rulers not to mention even getting them down to such low health in the first place. Keep up the good work
Mr. Pete, I appreciate your honesty and forwardness with the whole overwatch all mode dealio. Tbh its super impressive to see so few mistakes made in a play-through of this nature in the first place; its very difficult to account for every possible complication without significantly increasing production time. I hope you aren't too hard on yourself since it seems like you put a lot of time, effort and heart into these videos. Love your stuff man keep it up :D
Not that I want this playthrough to end, but if it means you'll have a clear schedule to continue BG3 I can't wait. BG3 probably takes an absolute ton of prep to get just right.
The Warlord was coping and bluffing SO hard this episode lmao. Great video, Pete! I don't know who gets the MVP. QT basically applied an incredibly useful passive buff on damage, Sapphire destroyed the sarcophagus and was incredibly accurate this mission (as is tradition) or Warhog actually living up to the mission title of Banishing the Warlord with his Blade :D
We're taking big steps towards full completion, as we attempt to take down the Warlock for good! Regarding why the priest shot instead of using psionic abilities, he was disoriented due to Logan’s rend attacks. I believe disoriented unit cannot use ability (like effect by flashbang grenade), hence this weird interaction between Logan and the priest. Hope that clarifies, that is my experience with XCOM2 anyway.
Another XCOM 2 video, another great video as always. Well done Pete. Now that the Warlock has been finally liquidated that leaves only the Assassin and today Logan performed really well despite not killing the Warlock for good. It's very hard to decide who will be today's MVP but most will say it will be ranger Warhog who lived up to the name of the operation by banishing the Warlock from our world for good with his blade.
You had a ton of options so the fact that overwatch was an advantage last episode is no big deal, might be different if it was your lucky break but it wasn’t.
Warlock: - smacktalks the whole way to his chamber - misses the SPARK - get's frozen - dies - has his sacrophagus blow up - respawns - get's frozen - dies - refuses to elaborate I am not gonna lie, this one was by far the weakest choosen. I think the Kings and some regular enemies were a bigger challenge
I absolutely had that overwatch all thought, but was not confident enough (that just selecting overwatch would trigger the reaction since nothing actually happened) to leave a comment about it. Thank you for addressing it, you truly are a man of integrity! Also it did not take away my enjoyment of the episode and the entire combat was so buggy it was not worth my mental energy when I enjoy the content so much!
I've been watching Pete for years and I still think he's secretly Cary Elwes; the voice similarity is uncanny, and I can't help but imagine him narrating all these games lol
35:30 i cant remember the exact action i used but i actually missed the sarcophagus once.... still have no idea why, and it made the rest of the turn very inconvenient
I don't think the overwatch all take away any of the achievement of this series, and it most certainly did not hurt my enjoyment of watching it (I mean obviously, I did not know about this issue). I do however love that the community noticed it and that you addressed this point in the detail that you did, this the completionist spirit I enjoy.
That you can allow the ruler to escape as many times as you want and affect how much HP it starts with next mission means that the overwatchmod just saved some time in your case. I have seen enough of your episodes to know that
Hey Pete, could you show off using emp grenades against the sarcophagus? Unlike the bluescreen rounds, they actually deal damage, and it might be worth on a grenadier with volatile mix
I really enjoyed the base attack by the Chosen, I had imagined each Chosen would have a unique base attack, or do they all use the same artillery? If not then taking them down before they can attack the base seems like a missed opportunity.
And I've caught up. I was wondering whether you talk to yourself on the original recording, especially as you pause and circle something. Or do you make notes? I'm just curious about the process you're using making these videos, I am very happy with the results, it allows for less boring downtime and more action.
what is the name of the mod that shows any obstacles a soldier will encounter? for example at 17:39 it shows a little overwatch sign to represent the alyssa west will trigger a mech overwatch shot.
I will say, I am vaguely disappointed with the similarity between this mission and the hunters. While I understand that they are both chosen, they could've added a lot more personality to each of the bases.
I believe most of the soldiers you put on overwatch with overwatch all were outside of line of sight anyway, obviously julian and the sharpshooter were inside of line of sight but if you had only overwatched who was outside line of sight I think you still would have gotten the kill. That doesn't cheapen the kill nearly as much as that ruler refusing to act on enemy turns, that just feels like a letdown of a bug.
I usually save the Warlock for last because he's the weakest, gives the worst item, and I still want one around to mill AP on; but it's your playthrough big man =P
Oh no, we have certainly taken some damage here and there, I believe there was one early mission agains the Hunter which forced me to emergency-evac a Ranger and Julian has of course taken his fair share of hits, too.
I find it a little sad that due to the Alien Hunters DLC, the Chosen appear so weak in comparison. The Alien Ruler Reaction mechanic plus the better stats (100+HP) make them the far more challenging and interesting opponent. It just doesn't fit the narrative of the Chosen being the best the Elders have to offer... (I know the Alien Rulers are not technically from the Elders but Vahlen's creations... Still humans being able to produce more powerful beings than the Elders that managed to invade earth still bothers me...)
He's been using him damaged for some achievement. Spark don't recover hp automatically like soldiers, they need an engineer/gremlin assigned to repair them.
Whatvwas that ad...There was a princess(?) with a heart shaped hole in her chest consuming men on a plank, then one of them blew up and it changed to some ff tactics style game.
Ranger warhog saying “one down, thousands to go” after killing a chosen like he was a normal enemy was needlessly badass.
Pete always makes it look like a walk in the park for his solders, so the comment was definitely deserved. Still badass tho
"War. War never changes"
I agree! made him my MVP
Just another day, just another enemy.
"I wouldnt taunt a machine i couldnt hit from point blank range" damn i never knew XCOM had Vicious Mockery
that priest reflect kill was unnecessarily funny
Logan really flexing on Advent this mission, the way he sliced up the Warlock like frozen sashimi... also peak juicy.
Just went from War of the Chosen (plural) to War of the Chosen (singular)
I'm feeling sincere appreciation for this series consistency 🥰
29:59 love how the Priest just schmooves to a new position after he dies

Warlock- Your soldiers morale is so low you must rely on this machine?
X Com HQ- Here's to another mission with zero fatalities! *Champaign pop*
Julian: *RAILGUN*
I'm sorry mister two legs and half a torso, didn't quite hear you there.
Not that I want this playthrough to end, but if it means you'll have a clear schedule to continue BG3 I can't wait. BG3 probably takes an absolute ton of prep to get just right.
Yes!!!
I so want a bg3 playthrough!!

You forgot to pin this comment.
The Priest triggering Logan's Uno Reverse card was pretty badass ngl.
Regarding why the priest shot instead of using psionic abilities, he was disoriented due to Logan’s rend attacks. I believe disoriented unit cannot use ability (like effect by flashbang grenade), hence this weird interaction between Logan and the priest.

I have zero problems with how you handled the Archon King in the last episode...for the record.
Been checking this playlist twice a day 😂

Binged the series in three days. Always a big fan of the videos👏
On my knees here Pete, please baldurs gate video 2 🙏
The Elders must be freaking out knowing that 2 of their 3 Chosen have not only gone down, but were barely able to put up a fight!
You had a ton of options so the fact that overwatch was an advantage last episode is no big deal, might be different if it was your lucky break but it wasn’t.

That's not how you spell "gets".
I chuckled at both the Codex at 36:20 and the Lancer at 11:24 getting yeeted.
Warhog misses slash "That is not good" sees priest shoot at logan "defiantly not good"
Logan: Takes it personally
9:36, the Warlock says Sacred while the text says Scared. Guess typos are universal!
Also, he says they dare to take him down... Prescience or what? 😉
This was a very nice lore dump.
Logan MVP. Obviously.
Wew. Another chosen cacked, and War Hog's legend grows. another banger episode pete.
Glorious Episode
2 down, 1 left!
Can't wait to see a whole team with unique weapons and armors :D
Logan just styled on that priest!
I think it's funny how the warlock only ever used his weapon once and he completely whiffed the shot 🤣
He probably would have had a better chance to hit Julian if he'd just thrown the rifle.
I absolutely had that overwatch all thought, but was not confident enough (that just selecting overwatch would trigger the reaction since nothing actually happened) to leave a comment about it. Thank you for addressing it, you truly are a man of integrity!

Totally awesome! Smashed it as usual, Pete :)
I've been watching Pete for years and I still think he's secretly Cary Elwes; the voice similarity is uncanny, and I can't help but imagine him narrating all these games lol
Great work as always commander.
35:30 i cant remember the exact action i used but i actually missed the sarcophagus once.... still have no idea why, and it made the rest of the turn very inconvenient
Got so hooked on this series ❤ would you consider showing how your planning process for such run looks in a separate video?
Yes please!
I love this series!
That Spawn kill was funny af ngl
You owned that boss great job.
44:25 Lex Luthor congratulates X-COM
Another great video!
I don't think the overwatch all take away any of the achievement of this series, and it most certainly did not hurt my enjoyment of watching it (I mean obviously, I did not know about this issue).

A fantastic episode.
Loved xcom
Will love when the spot open for baldur's gate 3 as well
The Warlock's speeches... Sheesh. That could've been written better.
They were campy, and that's the point
Well done!
Is there a reason you avoid solace? I've always thought it was one of the most useful skills for the psyoperatives
When the archon king was in stasis, you could have put your guys behind a brick wall and put them on overwatch without him seeing.
That you can allow the ruler to escape as many times as you want and affect how much HP it starts with next mission means that the overwatchmod just saved some time in your case. I have seen enough of your episodes to know that
There is no room for Alien gods in the Human Pantheon!
Thank goodness we never have to see a pointless Astral Zombie ever again.
Doing that without the reapers definitely a big achievement I’d never do it without one
Hey Pete, could you show off using emp grenades against the sarcophagus? Unlike the bluescreen rounds, they actually deal damage, and it might be worth on a grenadier with volatile mix

So far every single Chosen has been bonked.
This is the only mission the warlock shoots his gun.
Logan's volt killing the warlock would've been great
Poor Warlock. All that bluster, only to get reduced to target practice for x-com, twice.
The mobile version of xcom2 has overwatch all integrated. So there is a official version of the game where it works just fine
will there be a long war version?
That final room you could have skulljacked one of those codexes, unless you didn’t equip it…
Straight up shot the Warlock while he was pontificating 😅
Did you recolor the ugly blue snake armor into red?
what is the name of the mod that shows any obstacles a soldier will encounter? for example at 17:39 it shows a little overwatch sign to represent the alyssa west will trigger a mech overwatch shot.
Skulljacking mission objectives are always 100% guaranteed even though it shows as 70%
More BG3 please
Uuuh, I've been waiting for that fix.
"scared" temple lol
Interesting that you left Assassin until last. I always kill her first.
I will say, I am vaguely disappointed with the similarity between this mission and the hunters. While I understand that they are both chosen, they could've added a lot more personality to each of the bases.

Hi Pete!
I usually save the Warlock for last because he's the weakest, gives the worst item, and I still want one around to mill AP on; but it's your playthrough big man =P
See also letting RAGE strike go to waste every mission because you put it on a grenadier for no apparent reason (love you, all critique is satire =P)
For a moment, the thumbnail looked like Baldurs gate, and I got really excited. Come on Pete, give us episode 2!
Pete, love the content! What about bg3 series? Halted or still going and I am the crazed greedy viewer (i am anyways)
hey pete can we get some more baldur gate 3 |?
Early!
So you have not been hit even once since beginning of this run or mistaken?
Oh no, we have certainly taken some damage here and there, I believe there was one early mission agains the Hunter which forced me to emergency-evac a Ranger and Julian has of course taken his fair share of hits, too.
Finally the most annoying chosen out of the way
Scoommmmmmmm
I'm looking forward to Baldurs Gate 3 when you have some space in your schedule mate
I find it a little sad that due to the Alien Hunters DLC, the Chosen appear so weak in comparison. Its been war hog not war hawk this whole time
Did you give up in baldurs?
he never confirmed that it would be a full series
Baldur's gate 3 is a very long game for a completionist like Pete to 100% the game
Why is Julian always damaged? doesn't he get repaired at some point? What did I miss?
He's been using him damaged for some achievement. Spark don't recover hp automatically like soldiers, they need an engineer/gremlin assigned to repair them.
well that took a while to upload.
Whatvwas that ad...There was a princess(?) with a heart shaped hole in her chest consuming men on a plank, then one of them blew up and it changed to some ff tactics style game.
