I’ve been doing this is for several years now. I was surprised to see you doing it too, you are the first I’ve seen. I did mine with a sculpting paste and a pallet knife. The paste was like whipped cream…very hard to work with. Yours turned out lovely.
Thank you very much!💕 Did you make your sculpting paste yourself? I keep changing my ingredients; this putty/gesso mix worked pretty well but I wouldn’t mind trying something more sculptural 😊
I have been using this technique for about 8 years now ! Today is the first time I've found someone actually doing it ! However I use different materials. So glad to find that someone else doing what I call, "3-D" art! I use epoxy "putty" and automotive glazing and feathering compound! Can't be done on canvas however. I use eighth in ch plywood wood, which is cheaper than canvas!

This is incredible. I haven't seen this type of artwork 😄 This is truly gorgeous, how you raised this dove and decided on a colour. So fantastic the colours and the shadows below the wings. That little bit of extra shadow did make the bird almost fly off the canvas ❤
That is the whole purpose of using this technique! Light angles really makes a lot difference!

I love painting birds. You have inspired me to add some texture to whatever bird I paint. Texture is so addicting to me! From watching you create such fabulous... Everything! My first attempt at this, I made a sea gull! It launched a whole new direction in my oil paintings! Was rather hard to learn sculpturing and combining it with my oil paintings! It's a whole new world!
