We had one like that when my grandparents died, we had everything in section A 50 cents, B was $2, C was 5, D was 10, and E was 10+
But that was when we were selling everything they owned that no one wanted to keep in the family. If they were cleaning out a garage or a shed or something and just want it gone I could definitely see a 50 cent garage sale happening

    • @Thi-Nguyen

Don’t know if it’s a smaller town thing, but I’ve seen these types of garage sales all around town my whole life. In fact, for a few years, there was a family a few houses over that had garage sales seasonally. They had two young kids and would sell the stuff the kids had outgrown at the end of each season.

Yes, but it's a great starting point, because most kids that age don't know the actual price of the items since they've never had to purchase them. And since it is used, and as long as it's working, a kid could essentially cut that price in half, put it up for $30 and still make a really nice profit of $29.50. Sell 10 items like that and that's about 300 bucks.
The goal is to teach them the value of a dollar and what its like to earn your own money. But I'm sure you knew that already

Things like old jewelry can sell cheap or bring surprisingly big money. You have to have an eye for what’s going to sell and you have to be willing to educate yourself a little bit.
