Such a tragic character. Everything he's done to this point has never been about him it's all been for Sakura, Franchochou and Saga, and he appears to be okay with it as long as Saga is saved and Sakura gets to fulfill her dream.
Hmm your comment made me think of something. Maybe Kotaro doesn't want to save Saga, but if he doesn't then the immortal necromancer would die and Sakura and the others would die too as a consequence. So saving Saga isn't his goal, but a way to achieve his true goal which is achieving Sakura's wish.
@@Greideren This has to be true. And I suspect it's because Kotaro was the driver who hit Sakura. Since he was in love with her, he must've felt driven to give her an opportunity to achieve her dream. He (likely) took her dream away from her, and he felt it was his responsibility to give it to her again. I doubt he would have felt the same drive if he didn't have anything to do with her death or if he was the one who hit her but didn't care about her personally.

This scene hits hard, feels like the end of a season or series moment. From the music to the animation, everything hits hard and you can tell how happy he is at this moment despite not smiling and putting on a happy face.
This was a nice moment, but I think the bigger moment in this episode was the reporter realizing the truth and deciding to help them, instead of reveal them.
It is nice to at least know that he was only initially thinking of revealing them because he thought Kotaro was both exploiting them and desecrating the dead (which while technically true on both ends isn't the full story), rather than him just wanting to make a name for himself.
@@chrisossu2070 Yeah, seems like he thought that they were being enslaved or controlled somehow. But he learned that they are acting of their own wills.

In the flashback, Kotaro can be seen holding Sakura's audition form that she had before she died 1:13. So he was either present at the moment of her death or he somehow got ahold of it afterwards. I'm inclined to believe it's the former. It's even possible he was in the truck that hit her. She died in front of him and that must have been absolutely traumatizing.
