Thank you :). In the past, I did not switch cameras too often, but when mirrorless cameras started to become available, that’s when I started trying different cameras more often. Normally I would only switch when there was a real reason to upgrade like a significantly better model, like going from the Nikon D70 to a Nikon D200 and then to a D700. After the D700 is when I switched around a lot more, looking for a model I’d like to keep long term (finally happened with the Z7 and now possibly the X-H2 as well. We’ll see).

On the fugi cameras ive been able to look at in Best Buy, once you take a picture the image appears on the screen and you have to press "ok" before you are "live" again for another shot. Is there a way, by menu, to set it so that the image will appear for only a few seconds then automatically return to live mode?
Is it possible to use a 2nd SD card in the XD slot if you dont need the additional speed?.

    • @ThePhotographyHobbyist
      @ThePhotographyHobbyist Рік тому

Thank you. That's a tough choice between the X-H2s (the S version) and the Z6 II. I guess you'll have to look at the specs and decide what functions and features are most important to you and then decide if one camera is a better choice depending on your needs and wants. The Z6 would have better image quality overall, so if that's most important to you, then maybe that's the answer. If you like shooting JPG often instead of RAW, maybe the Fuji is a better choice because of the great options and nice output you get for JPGs from the Fuji. There are so many settings and features, it's hard for me to say what's best for you, but those are a few examples. If you don't have existing Fuji X mount or Nikon Z mount lenses, then it's mostly a choice of what features and functions you need and prefer. Both cameras will have great image quality. Hope that helps a little.

I shot Fuji for over a decade and have had 16 of their cameras (Pro1, X100s, Xe1, Xe2, X-T1,2 and 3, X-H1 etc, etc). I finally realised though that they did not cut it in the pro arena, particularly in low light and high ISO (if you did not exactly nail the exposure and had to pull up shadows). Since I swapped over recently to two Z6ii's and their lovely Z lenses, I have seen a real difference. Even my clients have commented on the quality of my images of late. I really miss the tactile feel and quality of the Fuji cameras - especially their lenses. My 3 Nikon Z 1.8 primes have the ergonomics and design of a toilet roll. My Fuji lenses had beautiful clicking aperture rings and wonderful shape and design, but in the end when I look at the gorgeous images from my Nikon RAW files, it was worth the swap over. There really are some real differences between FF and APSC.

Without any extra grip extension, for me I'd say the X-H2 grip might be slightly more comfortable, but not my much. I have something on each camera though that extends the grip and I'm very happy with both of them.
I rarely use AF-C with tracking on my Z7 II because the single point AF is extremely reliable, so I don't have a lot of experience with that. Just picking a subject here inside the house and testing it though, it seems fairly similar to the X-H2 as far as sticking on the subject I select and then recomposing/moving the camera around.
I know some people (that probably have never used a Z6/7/9 but the EVF in the Z7 (and Z7 II, Z6 etc) is still better than the EVF in the X-H2. I think it's the optics Nikon uses in their EVF. It's very natural, super clear and sharp with good color. I'll say the X-H2 EVF is great too, but if I had to pick one, I'd take the EVF from the Z7 and put it in the X-H2, even with it being lower resolution (3.6 million dots is still plenty for checking sharpness at 100% magnification. It's very clear and sharp at 100% in the EVF even with a 45.7 MP image.

@@cohoonatube Fuji is known for great JPEGs straight from the camera, but I never really use them because it just works out better for me shooting raw even though I have to touch each file. Regarding post processing, I have been using adobe Lightroom since version 1 and I have no plans of switching because I’m so familiar with it and it does everything I need. That being said, adobe is known to not be the best when working with the Fuji raw files, but I think it has gotten better over time and if you are careful with sharpening, it works out a lot better than it did with Adobe in the past. The key with these Fuji raw files is to use a certain amount of masking when sharpening, which basically means being careful not to sharpen the out of focus areas. The mask is part of my preset for when I import the photos, and if I want to go a little farther with it, I can increase the masking to be sure the background/out of focus area is not sharpened which can create some kind of water color effect. @ThePhotographyHobbyist Thanks for the video and wow, what a beautiful set of pictures you have with the XH2! I got mine (XH2) in the bit of a rushed decision, coming from Sony aps-c. Never owned a full frame, and I'm now really interested in wildlife photography. It seems that the high density of the x-h2's sensor can be limiting with long lenses (due to light refraction?) and the smaller sensor itself would require a longer exposure. I've already got a few expensive lenses for the fuji, but I'm tempted on selling everything and getting a full frame camera instead. Rather than emptying my pockets for a telephoto for the fuji that might be just okay. What do you think?

Thanks. I appreciate it. Wildlife photography isn't my specialty, so I may not be the best one to comment on that. Usually what I head wildlife shooters talk about is the importance of continuous autofocus with tracking capabilities. I never used the X-H2 for action other than a simple task of tracking people on a stage as they moved back and forth. For birds and any other animal that's moving fast, I just don't have any experience using the X-H2 for that or any other camera really. I will say the X-H2 was very good at AF-C/tracking, but again I wasn't using it for fast action, so I don't know. Ultimately, I ended up with a Nikon Z8 and plan on keeping it long-term. It has all the resolution I will ever need and outstanding autofocus, so it's sort of future proof for me (for the next 4-5 years or even more if I didn't feel like buying a new camera). This is just a hobby for me so I tend to get antsy and want to try new cameras more often than others would switch but I would also say I switched more often because the Nikon Z8 didn't exist yet, so that should slow down my camera swapping quite a bit! haha. I'll admit though I do still like to swap out my 'small' camera now and then, so while the Z8 will stay with me a long time, I may be trying a new small camera later this year to go with the Z8.

It's a crazy common thing that people that have Nikon wants Fuji and people that have Fuji want to try Nikon. It's like a shared value. This thing is not happening with Sony, Canon or Panasonic shooters. I have Nikon and want to try Fuji too 😅

In case you are new into today photography: lens companies are scamming & cutting corners to get max profits from you.
    1. ATG's focus index/scales/feet/meter window is gone. You can't know & shoot on the fly like a Hasselblad CF lenses.
    2. High amateur cameras have metal body, but most lenses are plastic
    3. Company using old dated lenses and cut/fused a Flange to Focus Adapter on the back of the lenses (6:20)
    4. Cutting corner by marketed has quick focus because focusing from minimum to infinity is less than 90 degrees turn
    5. Lenses with less turn will be very hard to do & shoot videos
    6. Those claimed weatherproof cameras & lenses & flashes will provide you trouble after the warranty run out
Companies know that they have to sell to the mass market to stay alive. So selling to the pro is not the answer.
They can make more money by to selling them to beginners, parents & amateurs.
And yes, to those claimed professionals that have to buy their own equipment.
Only less than 4 precents pros are on the freelists.
