Great question! I was hitting the drum just the other day and took my headphones off because it seemed like it might be loud. It's hard to say "yes" or "no" because it's subjective, so next week I'll add a section where I do just that: play it without any sound on so people can hear!
Hi Adam. Thank you for your videos and providing the information. I'm considering purchasing the TK-1 but I'm unclear of the various ways I could use it as an individual player. I'm a healthy senior primarily interested in just getting body movement, rhythms and love banging on drums. Maybe you could speak sometime to how an individual user could use the TK-1, without a Taiko ensemble? I don't have an ensemble convenient nearby but would enjoy playing along to videos and such (Silently - working spouse in the home.). I'm a bit surprised that Roland marketing seems to ignore this solo user market, 'cause I would guess many potential customers have the same circumstance as I do. Any thoughts on this? Thank you - Will
Hi Deyfan! The sticks (bachi) you can get easily from Asano U.S. Here's the link: asano.us/collections/bachi-all/products/hou-magnolia-bachi I'm using "04-8012" (I think) which are 36cm long. But I like a smaller length compared to some, so it's hard to say which might be a good size for you. As for the strap, I'm using the one I got with a different okedo, but I also had one made from taikowithtoni.com, using custom fabric (but she has fabric you can use as a default).
