The US pays Egypt a lot of money (formerly military aid) and in turn expects them to enforce their border with Palestine, which in turn enforces the sanctions against them. More recently the US discovered that Egypt was working on a deal with Russia to produce rockets for their MRLS artillery for use in Ukraine and used that funding as leverage to shut that down.

But I'll still bite the bullet and explain to you why the indigenous Palestinian population has every right to resist the colonial project it's been subjected to. Let's leave aside the fact that you're a jew from New York yet you can move there at any point, while the Palestinian man whose family was ethnically cleansed at any point since 1948 cannot, unless he's one of the lucky few who were allowed to remain... Israel, like you said, won the war in 1948. It also won the war in 1967 and so on. During the 1948 war, it indeed ethnically cleansed the territory. That is not something an occupying power is allowed to do under international law at all. Israel did that to ensure jewish demographic majority so that Israel could present itself as a democracy palatable to the west. There are very explicit provisions about what an occupying power is allowed to, and what annexation can entail. Subjecting civilian population to any kind of expulsion is explicitly prohibited, especially along ethnic lines, no matter who "lost the war" because states lose wars, not civilians. Israel did that exact thing in 1948. Skipping 1956 when Israel blatantly tried to take over the Suez canal on behalf of UK and France for purely colonial reasons, in 1967, in a war that almost all historians agree was not defensive, Israel occupied a significantly more land. Now the key difference here is that this land was never officially annexed (cept for Jerusalem), which again comes with various rules and regulations under international law. Israel broke practically all of them, but the most blatant violation are of course the settlements, which are again, strictly, explicitly prohibited, with no room for debate. Israeli government has shown no intent to stop this policy of forced colonization of occupied land. Under these conditions, and after 70 years of grave violations of all sorts of human rights and international norms which all hold and are enforced when it comes to any other country on earth (compare Gaza with Kosovo, where Serbs made an order of magnitude smaller mess and yet they were bombed for 100 days straight in the name of democracy), you predictably have resistance groups trying to enact a price from the occupier. This too, is sanctioned, permitted, allowed under international law, in explicit terms, eg. it is permissible to employ violence against an occupying force which is what Israel is by very definition when it comes to West Bank and is by majority legal expert opinion when it comes to Gaza under the 15 year long blockade. And how does Israel respond? With a campaign that violates every norm of war, proportionality, targeting civilian infrastructure, subjecting the population to starvation and ethnically cleansing 2 million people into refuge camps in the south, again, all actions clearly and unambiguously prohibited in all documents that regulate warfare, including Geneva convention to which Israel is party. Then just this week Israel goes on to defy UN security resolution demanding a ceasefire which is also binding and is also a grave violation of international law. I could go on. But I know you're gonna say, well, what are they supposed to do? They can't fight with one hand behind their back after all. And yes, it's true, that legal norms basically demand they fight with one hand behind their back, and that is precisely because they are the occupier and they are the stronger party and they are not defending themselves but defending the legacy and the current situation of 70 years of occupation, ethnic cleansing, apartheid (sorry Necro, again, you're not a legal scholar, and those who are, including Israeli human rights experts like B'Tselem, agree that the situation in the West Bank without a doubt amounts to apartheid) and colonialism. Of course it is hard to do that. It is supposed to be hard to do things like this, for fucks sake. Arabs colonised the region in the 7th century with the conquest by the Rashidun Caliphate. From Islam, to the Arabic language to the culture - it is colonial in every way. Furthermore, many if not most Palestinians descend from people who arrived in the last 150 years from neighbouring lands, due to the economic prosperity Zionism was bringing to the land. The word "Palestinian" takes root in the Hebrew word "plishtim" meaning "invaders" which is why the Romans renamed the land "Palestina" after expelling and murdering most of the true indigenous population (a population many Jews descend from). On the other hand, Jewish culture, revival of the Hebrew language, everything about Jewish culture is indigenous. Zionism is a de-colonisation project. Every single war in the early 20th century had a degree of population transfers. This was extremely typical. 18-20 million Germans were displaced. Tens of millions of Hindus and Muslims were displaced in the India-Pakistan War. 1.5 million ethnic Greeks were displaced in the war with the Ottomans. I can keep going. Also, you casually forget to mention 900,000 Jews were expelled or fled from the Arab World during the 1948 and 1967 Wars. This was your typical war-time population exchange. The Palestinians are the only population in the world who refuse to move on and actually create a functioning society. Israel's immigration policies are irrelevant. It is a sovereign nation and has every right to decide who is and who isn't allowed in their borders. Gaza is not occupied. Israel removed every last Jew (including dead ones) in 2005. They left 30 billion in infrastructure. Green houses. Irrigation systems. Everything the Palestinians needed to sustain themselves. Instead they looted the green houses, burnt down the infrastructure and dug out the water pipes to use as rocket material and now Israel has to provide them with everything after their government formally decalred war with Israel. In what world, do we expect the entity you've declared war against to provide you with everything, after they gave you what you said they wanted and you destroyed it. The revised Hamas Charter of 2007, does NOT call for a two state solution along the 1967 borders. What it calls for is a starting point of a Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, but makes very clear that the war against Israel will not stop until they have conquered all of the land. Of course, no Israeli would be okay with the 1967 borders. They aren't even "borders", what they really are, are the 1948 Armstice Lines, where fighting temporarily ceased after the illegal invasion of Israel by 7 Arab nations. They were never borders because the Arab World refused to make them borders. They then attacked Israel unprovoked in 1967 and lost the land - you don't win prizes for starting and losing wars. Furthermore, Israel offered 99% of the "1967 borders" in 2000 and 2008 with relevant land swaps. This was rejected. The 1967 borders are hugely strategic, so why would Israel give them to a people who consistently try to destroy it and would only use said borders to wage war on Israel. Furthermore, you expect Israel to give up the Jewish Quarter in Jerusalem - which was part of those "borders (not really borders)". The last time that happened, every Jew living there was murdered and expelled. Every synagogue destroyed and the Quarter turned into a literal trash heap with a law passed not allowing any Jew to enter. I'm sure it'd be different this time though. Wouldn't it? Cmon.

But I'll still bite the bullet and explain to you why the indigenous Palestinian population has every right to resist the colonial project it's been subjected to. Let's leave aside the fact that you're a jew from New York yet you can move there at any point, while the Palestinian man whose family was ethnically cleansed at any point since 1948 cannot, unless he's one of the lucky few who were allowed to remain... Israel, like you said, won the war in 1948. It also won the war in 1967 and so on. During the 1948 war, it indeed ethnically cleansed the territory. That is not something an occupying power is allowed to do under international law at all. Israel did that to ensure jewish demographic majority so that Israel could present itself as a democracy palatable to the west.
There are very explicit provisions about what an occupying power is allowed to, and what annexation can entail. Subjecting civilian population to any kind of expulsion is explicitly prohibited, especially along ethnic lines, no matter who "lost the war" because states lose wars, not civilians. Israel did that exact thing in 1948. Skipping 1956 when Israel blatantly tried to take over the Suez canal on behalf of UK and France for purely colonial reasons, in 1967, in a war that almost all historians agree was not defensive, Israel occupied a significantly more land. Now the key difference here is that this land was never officially annexed (cept for Jerusalem), which again comes with various rules and regulations under international law. Israel broke practically all of them, but the most blatant violation are of course the settlements, which are again, strictly, explicitly prohibited, with no room for debate. Israeli government has shown no intent to stop this policy of forced colonization of occupied land.
Under these conditions, and after 70 years of grave violations of all sorts of human rights and international norms which all hold and are enforced when it comes to any other country on earth (compare Gaza with Kosovo, where Serbs made an order of magnitude smaller mess and yet they were bombed for 100 days straight in the name of democracy), you predictably have resistance groups trying to enact a price from the occupier. This too, is sanctioned, permitted, allowed under international law, in explicit terms, eg. it is permissible to employ violence against an occupying force which is what Israel is by very definition when it comes to West Bank and is by majority legal expert opinion when it comes to Gaza under the 15 year long blockade.
And how does Israel respond? Palestinians can't be indigenous. Everything about Palestinian culture is colonial. Arabs colonised the region in the 7th century with the conquest by the Rashidun Caliphate. From Islam, to the Arabic language to the culture - it is colonial in every way. Furthermore, many if not most Palestinians descend from people who arrived in the last 150 years from neighbouring lands, due to the economic prosperity Zionism was bringing to the land. The word "Palestinian" takes root in the Hebrew word "plishtim" meaning "invaders" which is why the Romans renamed the land "Palestina" after expelling and murdering most of the true indigenous population (a population many Jews descend from).
On the other hand, Jewish culture, revival of the Hebrew language, everything about Jewish culture is indigenous. Zionism is a de-colonisation project.
Every single war in the early 20th century had a degree of population transfers. This was extremely typical. 18-20 million Germans were displaced. Tens of millions of Hindus and Muslims were displaced in the India-Pakistan War. 1.5 million ethnic Greeks were displaced in the war with the Ottomans. I can keep going. Also, you casually forget to mention 900,000 Jews were expelled or fled from the Arab World during the 1948 and 1967 Wars. This was your typical war-time population exchange. The Palestinians are the only population in the world who refuse to move on and actually create a functioning society. Israel's immigration policies are irrelevant. It is a sovereign nation and has every right to decide who is and who isn't allowed in their borders.
Gaza is not occupied. Israel removed every last Jew (including dead ones) in 2005. They left 30 billion in infrastructure. Green houses. Irrigation systems. Everything the Palestinians needed to sustain themselves. Instead they looted the green houses, burnt down the infrastructure and dug out the water pipes to use as rocket material and now Israel has to provide them with everything after their government formally decalred war with Israel. In what world, do we expect the entity you've declared war against to provide you with everything, after they gave you what you said they wanted and you destroyed it.
The revised Hamas Charter of 2007, does NOT call for a two state solution along the 1967 borders. What it calls for is a starting point of a Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, but makes very clear that the war against Israel will not stop until they have conquered all of the land. Of course, no Israeli would be okay with the 1967 borders. They aren't even "borders", what they really are, are the 1948 Armstice Lines, where fighting temporarily ceased after the illegal invasion of Israel by 7 Arab nations. They were never borders because the Arab World refused to make them borders. They then attacked Israel unprovoked in 1967 and lost the land - you don't win prizes for starting and losing wars. Furthermore, Israel offered 99% of the "1967 borders" in 2000 and 2008 with relevant land swaps. This was rejected. The 1967 borders are hugely strategic, so why would Israel give them to a people who consistently try to destroy it and would only use said borders to wage war on Israel.
Furthermore, you expect Israel to give up the Jewish Quarter in Jerusalem - which was part of those "borders (not really borders)". The last time that happened, every Jew living there was murdered and expelled. Every synagogue destroyed and the Quarter turned into a literal trash heap with a law passed not allowing any Jew to enter. I'm sure it'd be different this time though. Wouldn't it? Cmon.
Not to mention that Herzl, Nordeau and even the names of organizations engaged in Zionist project such as PICA were all explicitely calling for colonizing palestine. Ben Gurion said it, Moshe Dayan did. Today zionists are gaslighting us into believing it's not a colonization project and never was. Nobody is stupid enough to buy this.

1. 800k Jews fled or were expelled from the Arab World in 1948 - a further 50k fled or were expelled after 1967. Today there are a few hundred Jews left. In 1948, 750k Palestinian Arabs fled or were exepelled, around 200k remained. Today they number 2.3 million. See the discrepencies.
2. 1967 was not a war started by Israel and no credible historian thinks it was. Egypt's blocking of the Straits of Tiran, the expulsion of all UN peacekeepers and the mounting of hundreds of thousands of troops on Israel's border ready to attack was a declaration of war. Furthermore, Jordan and Syria got false news that Israel's destruction was imminent and attacked Israel unprovoked. You don't win prizes for starting wars and losing.
3. A blockade is not occupation, as October 7th has shown, an even stricter blockade was actually necessary. Egypt also blockades Gaza, do you consider Egypt occupying Gaza too?
