Left LA 22 years ago and happy I did. Have no desire to go back. I’m glad I got to see it when it was a good place to live and before become the homeless capital of the country.
boy... this really brought back memories of growing up in palos verdes.. going to the old redondo beach pier before they changed it all to what it is now... Tony's on the Pier.. the best shrimp cocktail.. feeding the seagulls with the crackers out of the window... the fish market under the pier.. the only thing i really saw in this video that kind of remained the same was the corn dog stand.. same place basically.. every time we had to get one of those delicious fresh dipped corn dogs. watching everyone fish off the pier.. just seeing the beach and palos verdes in the background.. was nice..
Redondo Beach is my hometown! Love the pier and have been going there since I was a little kid! Shame they closed down the Fun Factory arcade, though :/
@@redfive8965 If you're talking about the one with the mosaic of the chef running away from the angry crabs, that's the "Fun Fish Market & Restaurant". If you're talking about the other one next to it has an outdoor seating area and is super long with multiple tanks of live crustaceans and fish for sale, then that's "Quality Seafood Inc"
@@xanadux8299 yeah… even though a lot of the games I liked going there for were gone and most machines like Time Crisis and Mortal Kombat II were pretty busted up last time I was there, I’m kinda gonna miss it. Been there so long and I’ve been to it so many times as a kid that it’s weird not having it there anymore.
I love the south bay area of Los Angeles. It's scenic and beautiful. More calm. I've been to Manhattan beach city and Hermosa beach but I need to visit Redondo beach soon. You should also do a tour of the scenic Palos Verdes neighborhoods.
Thank you, Steve! I l have never been to Redondo Beach before. LOL. I will have this place on my list. Besides, please advise if there are any good seafood restaurants near this Pier.
I ove everything you do and places tou go to But when I first came upon your awesome videos theres one place in Koreatown. You might have not noticed ITS CALLED MARIELAS IT'S ON 3RD & CATALINA IN KOREATOWN.ITS AN AWESOME PLACE FOR MEXICAN FOOD AND ITS BEEN THERE QUITE AWHILE..CHECK IT OUT SOMETIME EVERYTHING IS DELICIOUS..ALSO PLEASE VISIT AN ALL KOREAN RESTAURANT I'VE HEARD THEIR BAR BQ IS SO GOOD..ALL MY BEST ..STAY SAFE .SINCERELY, YOUR LOYAL SUBS HERE IN KOREATOWN.😊💖
Restaurant suggestions …. Oh my, I could go on and on ….. Taco Sinaloa #2 (Torrance/Harbor Strip) Creme de la Crepe (La Marrocaine and Parisienne are the best dinner crepes, hands down) Zazou The Phô place next to Taco Sinaloa in the old Pizza Hut building (forget the name, but soo soo awesome) Bull Pen for calamari, lamb chops, beer and old timey midcentury appeal Old Tony’s (not for food, but def ambience; expect the salad to be iceburg and a lot of just plain old American fare. Nothing fancy. The time warped decor and ocean views are worth it) Fonz’s The Kettle if you need to get a late night bite. Don’t order anything ethnic (they don’t pull it off very well) Addi’s Tandoor (oh the best dang Indian anywhere and the ambience is super chill - good date night place) Village Pizzeria (way better than Pedone’s) Yellow Vase Malaga Cove, tomato bisque, European setting, ocean a few feet away, awesome cupcakes, and a common sight for anyone in PV, the peacock Pancake House, Redondo Beach Swedish Pancakes and Chocolate Chip Pancakes. Place is a madhouse on weekends, but if you can stand the commotion, the wait, and noise it is worth it!
And how could I forget Torrance Bakery Clam chowder on Fridays is unparalleled La Capilla good Mexican comfort food, chips are always crisp, salsa is the perfect amount of spicy, atmosphere is even better; not gourmet, but a staple for us So Bayers. The service is always fast, friendly and attentive Cafe Misto in Walteria is good, quaint, off the beaten path and employee owned Ws The Chilean Bass, Orange Chicken, Mongolian Beef, Wonton Soup, ohh Japonica open late, super delish, kinda spendy but quiet secluded booths Golden Camel for Mongolian BBQ!! Used to be my fave hole in the wall, but they have updated :) The San Franciscan old school and totally transportive; steaks are great, Karaoke is fun! Old Venice they have definitely vamped their menu and no other place for classic Greek dishes, plus Julie is amazing! And now after a search, looks like Old Venice closed which sucks …. Added to my list of restaurants that were completely awesome: Rive Gauche Admiral Risty The Golden Goose (still open, NM!) Del Conte’s The Good Earth Thai Thani Showcase Theater :)
May I recommend Maison Riz? Only because I've never heard of Japanese/French fusion. I had Japanese spaghetti and Japanese pizza and wasn't impressed. But Japanese French? That sounds interesting.
Huh! Honestly you could do videos on Tony’s and Naja’s alone, but still good. Thanks for indulging my homesickness. I really do miss the diversity of Los Angeles. I love Astoria and the PNW, but the culture is still playing catch-up after all de facto white supremacy laws
@@RockstarEater sorry, got a little cray with restaurant suggestions. I will tell you going through the upper half of the 48 has been so depressing food wise ….. No one beats LA for good dining times, I can tell you from experience :) So one of my old friends is the head chef at Mirame, haven’t been back to LA since, but if you do review, post here?
I hate Redondo beach crab house. no offense but asians shouldn't do seafood they'll fry it or sauteed it and that masks the natural seafood flavor. seafood should be natural and as simple as possible you dont need to do too much to it.
Have you been to Redondo Beach before?
Thanks for watching! Please subscribe and share this video with others!
Thats my son buying bait. Lol
yup glad nothing has changed than again it is the beach it'll change if mother nature says so lol

Yes, for sure. Since 2005 it has become more sidewalk café and (in my opinion) better . Hit up Friends of the Vine. Good vino, tunes, and appetizers
One of my favorite places to have lunch!
Reminds me of the Wharf in San Fran
