i need advice PLEASE, these are my GCSE results: english language- 8 english literature- 7 history- 8 combined science- 7-7 maths- 6 arabic- 5 creative i- media- L2D (grade 8) sports- L2D (grade 8) GENERALLY SPEAKING IF I DO GOOD IN ALEVELS INTERVIEWS ETF, DO YOU THINK I CAN GET INTO DENTISTRY?? im stressing so much (i feel like a B in maths (6) may deny me a space but the requirements are 6 and 7 idk what to do
Hiya hope you are good - honestly those grades at face value seem fine. The main thing is to look at the university requirements before you make any assumptions and check that you have met minimum requiremments. At the end of the day your whole application is important so aim to get high UCAT and A-level scores and you will maximise your chances! For anything else dm me on my instagram here: instagram.com/farisdent/
@@FarisDent thank you SO much for your reply, it really means a lot. ive just been very stressed out because i dont want to work so hard for biology and chemistry a levels and then be denied a space due to some1 else having better gcses, especially due to me being a “covid student” and the whole country getting better grades than usual. birmingham is a 7 in maths and 8-8 science, Manchester is 6-6 science and 6 in maths, do you think ill be good for manchester? as i scrape the maths requirement and go above the science requirement? ps- i love your video tips on application for dentistry and your science quiz with you and your 3 friends:) hope you do another vid like that!
@@ayem1760 Hiya there is absolutely no truth in this - of course it will HELP but is not a necessity for an offer - as long as you meet the minimum GCSE requirements and get a good UCAT, have a strong personal statement and A-levels you will have a chance - but of course nothing is guaranteed even with a strong application! Best of luck and please dm me on instagram for any more advice as UA-cam comments sometimes don't come in my notifications! (insta has been linked in comment above and description)
Hi Faris. How important has A-level Chemistry been in understanding the material covered in dental school? Do you think someone without such a qualification would be likely to struggle, based on your experience?
@@FarisDent Thank (that's come as a bit of a relief - it's not my forte)! Can I also ask whether you've had much trouble with back/neck pains from the awkward postures?
@@lawrencefinn5519 Hiya - personally no - not really. I do back exercises at the gym every week and you get a lot of tips on posture/ back positioning in dental school.

@@FarisDent do you have snapchat??
How do you revise dentistry in university. Like do you revise notes that you make? Do you make notes in advance?
I make questions out of the lecture slides/notes
Did KCL depend on a grading system known as the pass/fail system due to covid?
Not for Dentistry
Hi Faris. How important has A-level Chemistry been in understanding the material covered in dental school? Do you think someone without such a qualification would be likely to struggle, based on your experience?
Not important at ALL! There are some elements of organic chemistry but nothing complex.
