    Hi Dr Williams, hope everything is running smoothly with interviews underway! I just have a quick question about medicine interviews; I've read a lot about past interviews being centred around biology topics, but I have not done any high-school level biology so much of my knowledge in these areas is super elementary (I preferred chemistry!). I'm wondering if this biology knowledge is necessary for interviews, considering that it's not a prerequisite, and if I should read some textbooks to try and learn as much biology as I can?

      Thanks for this. Biology is not required, as you say, so the interviewers will not assume any specific biology knowledge. All best wishes

    Awesome!
    Any suggestions from viewers on interviews for masters?

      Pretty similar advice to this video, but masters interviews are closer to job interviews, where you could be asked about your planned research and your relevant skills.

      Noted, thank you!
      In that case, consider this a viewer request: A similar series of videos for Graduate studies would be appreciated!

    Hi! I have a question that follows on from 2:22 - is this recommended if we have an A-level in a subject related to the course we are applying for, though it is not required for the course (eg Economics if we’re applying for PPE)? I’ve read that the interviews won’t be subject specific in this case, but does that change if you’ve studied that subject before?
    Thanks for this enormously helpful video - it makes me feel so much more confident for next week!

      @JesusCollegeOxford1571  2 місяці тому +1

      No, all interviews are roughly the same so we can compare candidates. Meaning that we assume nobody has A-level Econ, for example.

    Dear Dr. Williams thanks for you advises!
    My son is little boring in his school. So, he has ambitions to enter to Grammer school. And those requirements look like Oxford’s. It’s very fun. In Ukraine other requirements and principes for admissions.

    Hello Dr. Williams! I have a quick question. I applied for History and Spanish at Balliol. I was shortlisted for interview, but I’m being invited for Beginner’s Italian and Spanish. Can I change this? Object to it? Why did this happen? Please let me know!

      You should contact the admissions/academic office at Balliol. Whoever invited you to interview. All best.

    Hello! I have applied for a humanities subject that I study alongside my science A levels. I feel not very well prepared syllabus wise for the science subjects! What should i do? What if I'm asked about content from them in the interview?

    • @JesusCollegeOxford1571
      @JesusCollegeOxford1571  2 місяці тому +1

      It depends on the degree, but it is not common to be asked specific curriculum content. If you are, the interviewers tutor you through the material.

    Hello! I have an interview for Psychology and Philosophy and I have a question - how exactly they rank/ weight the interview against other pieces of data for people who didn’t get to sit their entrance exam? I was unable to sit the TSA due to the exam board being unable to accommodate my dyslexia access arrangements and I’m a little scared that no matter how well the interview goes, my application won’t be competitive enough to get a place - especially since I had some special circumstances that impacted my exams and made my grades lower than I would’ve liked. Would the interview matter more in my scenario?

    • @JesusCollegeOxford1571
      @JesusCollegeOxford1571  2 місяці тому +1

      In the absence of other data, the interview is likely to count for more than usual. But the fact that you have been jnvited means you are a competitive candidate and you should feel proud of that fact alone. You wouldn’t have been invited if the tutors felt you had no chance.
