The nostalgia gave me butterflies. I’d do anything to be that 9 year old worry free kid playing this game again. Words can’t describe how important this game was to my childhood along with many others. Cheers to getting older!
This is still my favorite games series since I was like 3 😂. What was your favorite of the series? Mine might be year of the dragon but I did love riptos rage as a kid lol?
@@westondickinson5309 Because I got estranged from my dad in foster care I didn’t get to play much of Year of the Dragon until I got away and went back to live with my dad when I was 21. And even then the PlayStation broke down before I could finish it.

Then when my dad knew I loved it and had it finished 120%, he bought my riptos rage for Christmas. He let me open it Christmas Eve and as soon as I turned it on, I walked into the water by accident thinking it was the same as the first and not being able to swim and as soon as Spyro started swimming I was soooo hyped !!! I screamed out to my dad as loud as I could and showed him and gave him a huge hug and said thank you so much daddy. He always gave me a new game for my birthday and for Christmas, which would be either a Spyro game, crash bandicoot ( I had all 3 PLUS CTR ) this was all for ps1. When we got out ps2 and all the new Spyro and crash games same out I got them as well for gifts. I was the happiest kid gamer alive haha.

This is a long shot, but our copy of Spyro went missing and I can't find footage of what the loading screens looked like when you died. Have you played the reignited trilogy, and do you know if it changed significantly?
i think what's so great about Spyro is its simplicity. No learning new abilities, no backtracking through levels to unlock previously locked areas, you have a basic set of moves and you just charge through colorful, alive worlds as is. Plus, you get to listen to a kickass soundtrack while doing it.
Yes, such an amazing soundtrack. Unique in its own kind. It helped set a true identity of the Spyro series! On the show, we discussed the Spyro Trilogy and remastered series. Stewart Copeland did an amazing job with the music that everyone associates with Spyro. The themes for each level also set the tone so brilliantly. Please feel free to stop by the channel and share the passion for Spyro!
My dad’s girlfriend was annoyed by this soundtrack and she was surprised when I told her Stewart Copeland wrote it since she liked the Police (when she said he was a member of The Police I thought she meant that he was an actual policeman)
Okay I know this is 2 years late, but I just wanted to say thank you. This has been one of the worst years of my life, and watching this nostalgia bomb is so comforting
Honestly one of the best games ever! Also, I just wanted to say thank you so much for uploading this awesome game play! I love listening to it in the background while I'm studying!
I used to lay in my older brother's bed when I was about 6 and just watch him play this game for hours. I always wanted him to make Spyro swim in the water for some reason lol... I wanted to be a mermaid at that age, so I guess it makes sense. So many good memories. Thank you for this!:)
This brought back so many memories that I really loved. I found comfort in playing this game as a kid when things were difficult. It was a great escape. This was so fun to watch. Thank you for making it.
Its been over a decade since I've played any Spyro game and yet seeing this felt so familiar like no time at all has passed and remember so much of it!
As much as I enjoy and appreciate the reignited trilogy, it doesn’t compare to the ps1 games. Maybe it’s because they were my childhood, but the old look of these games just warms my heart and spirit. Just so fun, colorful, and full of life.
It most likely is because of the nostalgia. It's less that you don't like the remaster but more that you appreciate the original as well as it has a special place in your heart
Both are amazing but have totally different vibes. The original just has this strangely comforting, almost liminal sense of magic that can't be replicated. I can't explain it.
The graphics and visuals in the game are top-notch, and you really bring out the best in it. It's like I'm right there with you, experiencing the game firsthand. I appreciate the effort you put into editing the video as well. The transitions and effects are seamless, making the viewing experience even more enjoyable. The sound quality is crystal clear, allowing me to fully immerse myself in the game. Your skill level is off the charts. I'm in awe of how you can navigate through those challenging levels with such ease. It's inspiring to watch and motivates me to improve my own gaming abilities. I've been a fan of your channel for a while now. I just wanted to say that your content never disappoints. Whether it's a Let's Play or a tutorial. I always enjoy watching and learning from you. Only millenials understand the magic nostalgic goosebumps this game gives! I used to watch my older sister playing my favorite part is the one in water, as a child I wished I could go to that beautiful place swimming 🥰 I miss 90s and 2000s great legendary times, better times! ♥️
"Only millennials?" This 60-year old gamer begs to differ. Spyro was the first game I got for my Playstation console, and I'll never forget the thrills it gave me. This, and Banjo-Kazooie for the N64. Video games had come such a long way from the Intelivision and Atari 2600 of the late 70's -- when before the graphics were inferior to 80's arcade games, in the 90's they surpassed them for the first time. Nothing like this had ever been seen before. It was like being in control of an animated fantasy adventure movie! And lest you think I'm the only oldster here, I noticed another comment from a gamer 20 years older than myself. Great entertainment like this defies both age and generations.
Good grief. This game, Jet Moto, Siphonfilter, Silent Hill, Tomb Raider, Crash Bandicoot.....they're all the epitome of my childhood. I wish I could go back in time.
Started playing this when I was on my first grade, playstation 1. Almost 27 years has passed, but that childhood memories will forever embeded on me..Nostalgia hits me.😥😥
I am watchin this after the release 23 years ago, now im a dad and grandparent myself and i still play this game.Even bought this on ps4 (trilogy) and still enjoying this.
Man I can just cry!!! 😢😮 miss those days as a little kid! Never forgot this was the first game on my ps1 that I still have 20 sum plus years later! Love u mom n dad! Always n forever!

This was the first video game I've played since I was a 2 year old. And I still love Spyro to this day. It (along with Banjo kazooie, and Mario) even got me into video gaming. Thanks Spyro little buddy!
Thank you for this video! It helped me so many times when I was stuck. The short videos with the area names were really great and the graphics were great.Thank you so much!
Kids today just don't understand how much different gaming was in the 80s and 90s.. there was no internet back then so gaming mainly consisted of your friends or cousins gathering around a television taking turns when someone lost. The best thing we had when I was growing up were memory card battles on ps1 on gran turismo. Me and my cousin would build our cars on school nights and then race them on the weekends. Man I miss those days ! I like technology but I also think it has destroyed the fun of gaming with friends in the same room. Now days its easy to get online and play with people. In the 90s i had to beg my parents to go see my cousins so we could play video games and the only way we could stay up late playing was for me to beg my parents to stay the night at their house. Times sure have changed lol
I love this game so much and always will, the best decade of my life when people I love were alive, the best memories of greats: games and music with the people I loved and will always love 🥺🖤🥀
I was 16 when this game came out. My sister and I played it so much, along with the sequels. Such an amazing, yet frustrating series. Definitely not an easy playthrough, especially with how wonky controls were back then. The sequels especially had harder orb quests as you progressed. They were the classic "I'll get back to that later" kinda quests, lol. Good times. I think my mother might have the original games stashed somewhere in her house.
I havent played this game in 20 years. Everythkng seems so simple now, but when i first played it when i was 4, it was SO diffcult. Some of the levels were scary for me. I remember I used to chase the egg thieves for like 10 minutes.
I remember I played this game a bit as a kid back then.. Some of the stuff seem different to complete before Spyro 2. But I manage to beat the whole game in the Reignited Trilogy.

Who else watched this after Reignited came out?
ME

Pure nostalgia...No other words
Good grief. This game, Jet Moto, Siphonfilter, Silent Hill, Tomb Raider, Crash Bandicoot.....they're all the epitome of my childhood. I wish I could go back in time.
All the areas looked and felt so different! Masterpiece of work 👏 🙌
*Just a few seconds looking at gameplay has my heart rate up and this intense sense of nostalgia*
Started playing this when I was on my first grade, playstation 1.
Almost 27 years has passed, but that childhood memories will forever embeded on me..Nostalgia hits me.😥😥
Just came across this and man it took me back to my childhood. Lol. Good job. Thanks for uploading.
The single cutest game I've ever played.
Ver este vídeo fue como ver mi infancia pasar ante mis ojos...
Watching this video was like watching my childhood pass before my eyes...
Man this brings back so many memories as a kid! 90's kid right here!
Spyro's face during one of the inventory checks. Also, 3:19:02 "YA GOTTA BELIEVE!" XD Good work.
"...believe, in the heart of the Gems!" X)
Was this referring to rap pa rappa
It's crazy how much the new remastered edition holds true
Nafziger I really dislike the complete artistic overhaul. They could have made it look better without making it look like a whole new game.
@@TrueMakaveli50 it can be be a little busy at times but I like it overall. Especially spyro himself atleast
Literally so excited for September! Spyro was my favourite game along with Crash Bandicoot and Croc 😁
Douglas James Horne agreed

Omg love this game, it's one of my all time favorites! And the quality on this video is awesome, it's incredible seeing this game in such high definition
Watched the whole thing ... Such a great game
Gnork turns all the dragons to stone except Spyro...
Gets his ass kicked by Spyro three hours later.
😂
yea that's a bit weird lol. I guessed he over looked Spyro cause he's a child and didn't think he was gonna be a problem
How about the rescued dragon solved their own problem? Wont be a spyro game anymore lol
Spyro is too small to be targeted by Gnasty Gnorc's spell.
Duo to the fact that gnasty ist watching on the TV in OG spyro I always thought that gnasty didn't know that spyro wasn't crystal and I would always go ok its November 23 if i dont beet the game December 19 gnasty will read gnorc gnews that spyro Is freeing dragons and turn spyro and all the freed dragons back into crystal
@@user-br2hb4vr9x Well, then I guess Spyro was lucky, wasn't he?
I stayed playin crash and Spyro way back...memories💯
Same! Lol for hours on end
I still have this game and my ps1 intact. I'm going to have to play this game again! I love this game so much!
The 12-14 year old me LOVED Spyro! Great memories with these games.
For sure :)
This was the first video game I've played since I was a 2 year old. And I still love Spyro to this day. It (along with Banjo kazooie, and Mario) even got me into video gaming. Thanks Spyro little buddy!
Do you know the amount of nostalgia that hit me in my face when Spyro came soaring in to that theme music..?
Thank you for this video! It helped me so many times when I was stuck. The short videos with the area names were really great and the graphics were great.Thank you so much!
the soundtrack has only gotten better over time
Man this game right here is is my childhood
Ahhhh I used to play this, feeling so nostalgic right now!
Times sure have changed lol
i'm watching this as i'm playing the reignited and holy fuck the levels are basically right on the money. pretty incredible.
I love this game so much and always will, the best decade of my life when people I love were alive, the best memories of greats: games and music with the people I loved and will always love 🥺🖤🥀
"Watch out for those frogs they are cold blooded killers" x'D !!!!
As a 90's kid and from a lot others from 90', I can only say Thank you for completing our childhood ❤️❤️
Childhood memories good ol days when u didn't have to worry about bills or anything just go to school lol
So excited for the remastered Spyro reignited trilogy when I preorder it in August 31st and pick up at September 21 2018 on amazon
14:45 dark hollow was my favorite level with the chill music and the beautiful dark mood
When i was a kid i had nightmares about moneybags chasing me asking me for money.
I still love the way the flames look when you use the flame attack. The psone graphics were so cool.
I actually watched the whole freaking video! My eyes are like 😵😵
I havent played this game in 20 years.
