it's been a while since I did a non WM PPV review, Vengeance 2006 was fun, that tower of doom spot from the Triple Threat really stands out as a highlight. It's not the best Vengeance show but it certainly was a great showcase of Raw in the summer of 2006. What did you think of Vengeance 2006
It was Something interesting!
Not tragic like the PPV a year later in 2007 which happened exactly sixteen years ago coincidentally.
Please do the return of the undertaker’s American badass in judgment day 2000.
It was the best Vengeance of the 2000s imo. Hbu
My very first ppv my mom ever bought me as a kid was Unforgiven 2006. I'll never forget the double kick to big shows junk to start the HIAC. It was great as a 10 year old lol
God, I missed the summer of wwe 2006. Especially DX came back. There are so many awesome memories.
The whole lead up from Vince vs Shawn to DX vs mcmahons was awesome. Brian Kendrick & Paul London with Ashley Massaro were exciting to watch to. The initial couple of months of ECW were watchable. Edge vs Cena was good rivalry. And who could forget King BOOKAH
2006 was wild and Vince was on something this time period I swear
LOL
The April-June slow build to DX reuniting was a thing of beauty.
Whether he's winning or losing, I love how HHH builds feuds up in his programs.
Vengeance was something special
WWE 2006 in general was special
Perc Angle was a machine. The best and worst thing to happen to Angle was his drug addiction sadly. Im glad hes alive but TNA Percules would not exist if Vince was able to fix Angle in 06 :(
This was my first wrestling dvd! I remember watching this about 100 times!
Only matches I loved were the opening match with Orton/Angle, and the main event with DX. The IC match was too spot fest heavy.
Angle gave Orton like 15 German suplexes.
Dx 06 was ok but not like it was in 97 because back then hbk was 32 and triple h was 28
Now hbk was 41 and triple h was 37
Vengeance 2006 was definitely one of the more fun events of 2006. I watched it earlier this February and again earlier this week, and it’s still so fun. Victim by Eighteen Visions is a banger🤘, DX’s return was hyped, John Cena Vs Sabu was extremely awesome, RVD Vs Edge and Randy Vs Angle we’re solid bouts, it was all so good. I truly miss Ruthless Aggression.😌❤️
I remember watching this as a kid on a dvd. This ppv was awesome lol.
I Remember being there live one of my first shows
2006 Was the most fun I had watching wrestling as a kid back then especially this Summer
Vengeance 2006 was a decent ppv imo. The Triple Threat match for the IC Title was pretty good, showcasing the talents of Carlito, Benjamin, and Nitro, and the match between DX and the Spirit Squad was just pure fun. The antics between these two factions were one of the best things on WWE programming at the time.
I feel like Vince and his strict adherence to the wellness policy robbed of us some great title runs. Orton, RVD, and Jeff Hardy are the one that suffered most. Rvd vs HBK, Hardy vs Edge or Christian, and Orton and edge or hbk come to mind
Edge was the hardest-working wrestler during this air
I AIN'T GONNA LIE BUT THEY NEED TO BRING THE VENGEANCE PPV BACK
You’re hilarious I literally watched this show last night😭 that sabu and cena match had so much potential why don’t I remember it being so short!?!?
they needed more time
@@wrestlingspremier they needed the time dx had tbh😭
Please do the return of the undertaker’s American badass in judgment day 2000.
I didn’t know that vengeance spoiled dx’s return mainly because at the time the internet wasn’t as great as it is today and I was 10 so I didn’t read up on behind the scenes
I loved this PPV I remember watching it and it felt amazing.
i always remember rvd wasted his golden opportunity
You are the best content creator.more power to you
Carlito has charisma, but he never looked like a main eventer, just like The Miz.
2006 was wild
Cena vs Sabu was the best match!! Shoutout to Viscera and Stinksy for the assist!!
Came back cause I just seen rvd at work. 😭☝🏾
Carlito move was called the back stabber
This is when I started watching
You said "fans weren't really clamoring for DX and they made it seem like they were for a long time."
Yes, they were. Since 2002 when HBK came back in May with the nWo shirt they wanted it. Then when Vince killed the nwo, and HHH teased the DX reunion on HBK'S birthday, they wanted it bad. HHH pissed them off with the heel turn.
If you watch some of the signs during Evolution in 2003 and 2004, there are some "bring back dx" signs depending on the episode.
Once Batista beat HHH 3X and fans felt his heel turn was finally through, I saw another one. But the swerve came with the Flair, Show, and Cena feuds.
After that was over and fans were making him be a tweener, the DX chants were getting louder and louder as a real possibility. Someone had to turn first. Hbk wasn't turning heel. HHH was gonna have to turn face. And eventually he got there.
"RVD beat a guy clean who was a true main eventer."
Um: RVD used the title to win. And Edge lost the title back to Cena two weeks after he won. Not a true main eventer.
The AttitudeEra Podcast just covered this, which is great if you're looking for a comedic take on the PPV
In terms of 2006 (which is my top 5 fav years of WWE) I thought Vengeance was more in the middle, I think Summerslam and The Great American Bash toppled it, still it was a very fun show.
Ah yes The Great American Bash 2006, the night of heightened liver enzymes
WWE went to hell in 2006
Fun as fuck.
Vengeance was great PPV. TNA was definitely better than WWE that year. 2006 was a very inconsistency weak year in WWE in terms of PPV’s and Storylines. 2007 was definitely worser but at least it had a lot of solid PPV’s. 2006 really didn’t have that much memorable PPV’s and December To Dismember and Cyber Sunday were awful. But I do feel there are some PPV’s from 2006 that are overlooked because people only remember Unforgiven that year but I do feel No Mercy, Backlash, No Way Out, One Night Stand, WrestleMania 22, Armageddon, and Vengeance are decent PPV’s that are underrated. I also enjoyed the DX Sprit Squad match though people wasn’t a fan of it, And the Carlito match was good too. In a positive note SmackDown was really good that year.
Lita definitely gave edge a moment of relief more than a few times
The triple threat is easily 5 stars, this match is so authentic
Let's be honest, most wrestling shows from every time period are complete and utter cheese. There was a spell where WWF/WWE was fairly good to watch but most of it looking back is pure cheddar.
It's so bloody silly to me as an adult that although I often take a stroll down memory lane and watch it from time to time. I wonder what I would say to my younger self if I had the chance.
It's always been a kids show, like the Power Rangers. It went a little more mature to audiences in the 90's. To me wrestling is a mix of soap opera, a kids superhero cartoon and a day time talk show rolled into one.
Don't get me wrong, the people who are trained professionals and perform on a daily basis are magnificent at what they do, there's no question about it. As a spectacle however, my nostalgia is the only contributing factor which "pulls me back in."
💯💯💯💯
Please do the return of the undertaker’s American badass in judgment day 2000.
Honestly, this ppv was RAW's poorest for 2006. The smackdown Great American Bash that followed was actually as poor.
Vengeance 2006 underrated pay-per-view Rob van dam and edge match of the night
Carlito as ecw champion 🔥🔥
Vengeance 06 was satisfying for sure it was action packed it was a peak era for me edge vs rvd cena and sabu spirit squad vs dx🔥🔥🔥
That was a Donald Trump socko
@13:27 What happened there?
One year before Vengeance 2007 which is exactly sixteen years ago coincidentally.
The most recent episode of Dark Side of the Ring had Hacksaw Jim Duggan and Doink The Clown in it coincidentally.
Haha right perfect timing. Doink was killed btw
Lambeau Field. Poor comparison. Aaron Rodgers played his last game as a Packer there when they lost to the Lions at home and then left them.
First!
And
Grand
One thing weird and funny thing about Vengeance 2006 was the poster. It had Cena holding the belt looking at Edge face to face when Cena wasn’t even champion and wasn’t facing Edge that night either. What makes it even more funnier is that the DX logo covers most of the poster blocking Cena and Edge.
It's cause Rvd was about to be suspended from WWE that's why they didn't have RVD as the wwe champion on the poster
@@austin6735that makes no sense
To be honest. I don’t remember anything from Vengeance 2006. I remember the 2005 one where Batista faced HHH at HIAC and the rematch between Kurt and Shawn Michaels. This video will be interesting.
You forgot Cena facing Jericho and Christian for the WWE Title.
@@bilalben586
Not as memorable or as big of a match as the other two I have mentioned.
@@darkundeadto you
Vengeance 2006 was fun that had some good matches in Orton/Angle, IC title match, Cena/Sabu and Edge/RVD while sadly this was one of the last times that we had seen Angle in WWE until his return in 2017
Kinda weird
Umaga vs Eugene in squash with legends
Fake kane winning and ending the feud the next night
Sabu vs cena
Spirit squad in the Main event
Oh man imagine the backlash if that segment when Vince “ pushed “ that kick down the stairs
This is the only ppv I've seen live and it still is a huge moment for preteen me
2006 in general was a good year for the WWE. Such a special time where the best mix of veterans and younger guys came about
This was the summer before I started 10th grade. It all started coming back to me.
Best Version of Cena! HANDS DOWN!
Man I had this on dvd as a teen I’m turning 28 years old man times fly
HHH was still in his mid 30s here. HBK was the one in his 40s.
Orton smoking za lol
Why in the…..red fuck was the Kane match after the wwe title match? I have this dvd and completely forgot about that
5:41 wow that's young Charlotte
It was cool imo
First comment
First 😅
And for the last time 😤, Finn's freakin first nxt run broooooo😅
The raw before vengeance 2006 was the best episode of the entire ruthless aggression!🔥🙌🏼
My favorite summer period for WWE. 2006
Hey will you do vengeance 2007 just asking
Best feuds were edge and Cena featuring rvd and mysterious vs Orton
ECW almost lost all of their matches.
Solid show but wrong choice for the main event
Too much excitement for me back then as a kid meant I was more into the action and less into the storylines.
Back then I thought Kamala was Umaga's imposter just like Kane had his.
You should make a wwe summer of 2006 video
This was my first live wrestling show It has a special place in my heart for that reason
ALMOST TO 100K I SEE
