The average career of an NFL back is 2 1/2 years. Going on year 8 he just signed with the Super Bowl champions to be their 3rd down back. He honestly wasn’t even the best running back on the OU team he played on either, having played with Joe Mixon.

As a young Oklahoma fan, I was actually at that Kansas game in 2014. Even with the bad weather keeping the stands emptier than usual, we got really loud for him that day. I hope he is able to find success in not only football but life as well. A great at the program and I put him as a top 5 back at OU of all time. But because he played with Mixon, he never got the stardom he deserved, as Mixon was just a flashy player and more fun to watch personally. But he always will be remembered or that game.

I'd wait until someone actually hangs it up before I would say that they failed. Very few players could find even a shadow of success in Washington, the place is in shambles and he had one lineman that was it. This really isn't the best take for something like this. He was a solid piece in the Bengals making the Super Bowl.

The dude was the 114th player picked and just finished his fourth season as a back-up running back and special teamer... that's pretty much on par with what a player taken that late can be expected to accomplish. I understand doing a video about a player who was drafted in the first round, but is now out of the league after a few seasons... doing one for someone who is still playing and relatively young is just going to look embarrassing when the player ends up having a solid career.
I like your videos, but this one was either meant to be clickbait or was just simply ignorant.

The quality of the Big 12 during Perine's days compared to the quality during Peterson's day is staggering. Peterson played at OU when it was at its toughest, while Perine played in the weakest era of Big 12. Although sadly, the weakest era may not have actually hit yet. The only people in the Big 12 who thought Perine was top NFL material were Sooner fans. Even though he was racking up yards, we considered the competition. And my beloved Red Raiders were part of the failing competition. He is a good RB who played at a RB factory university, when the competition was at its lowest point.

Basic premise that all players going to the NFL face. The NFL is WAYYYY different and harder than college. College stats are absolutely meaningless once you get to the pros.

i believe it was just one of those things , wrong place wrong time. and with the limited opportunities he was given , he fizzled . Also Redskins drafted a RB every year so he was easily dismissed and never given a proper chance. But he is now with the Bengals a consistently doing well ypc . Im not saying he will be a #1 but he at least can be part of the team and contribute.

So you make a video where you recite game stats and decide who the “greatest RB in OU history” going by the number of yards gained. Unbelievable.
You might take into account the fact the greats back in the day had to play in the Freshman team, injuries, leaving early for the NFL, many variables.
As for Perine, he’s on a roster in the NFL, which means he one of about 120-130 running backs good enough to “make the team”.
Not sure what your definition of success is.
