@@dimyell Queequeg points out Ishmael used to have short hair because long hair is too much of a bother and I doubt she toold Queequeg that before she knew Ish's name. Besides, it seems unlikely she would let it grow out solely because of that.
This is my favorite limbus song so far, the sonar making the melody of the song, the whale and gull noises in the background and the driving heartbeat. All of it gorgeous.
Fun fact: It turns out that the same guy on steam who made the N Faust and Nclair copy pasta didn't actually dropped this game. He switched into simping Ishmael and it started during the 4.5 event. And then Heathcliff got announced a Quequeg's ID and i think you know what already happened...
The rhythmic guitar, dripping sound, and heartbeat backing absolutely kill it. Synth is pretty understated but sets the stage really well. The synthetic whale noises combined with her wailing voice elevate it from catchy to haunting. Probably my favorite of the tracks from Limbus so far. Spoilers, sorta: Totally intentional that Ish parralels Roland, too. Makes me excited to see where they take the latter half, especially with Dante starting to get meaningful character development.
Yeah, love Dante becoming an actual leader. But also, heathcliff has been getting pretty consistant character development and Im honestly surprised with how much Im enjoying his character already, cant wait for his canto

y'know, i held off on listening to this song until i completed my work. until i felt like i earned the right to play Ishmael's Canto and see what the hell was buzzing around in that head of hers. i was there for her frustrations, her impulsiveness, her compulsiveness. i saw her climb so high, her expectations building up in her head about what she'll do now that she was given the opportunity. i saw the burning, singular desire that she held within her heart shine brighter than it ever did before. and i watched it devour her whole. in the final moment, with Captain Ahab on her knees, taunting and yelling at Ishmael to chase after that hateful obsession of hers-i saw the difference. i saw the change that separated them. it's the hesitation. Captain Ahab did not hesitate when she did every single ignoble and abhorrent action she took, but Ishmael /did/. and so, with tension in her grip and an unsteady hold on her life, she held on to the last shred of hope she could have to free herself from the collapsing walls around her. ones she didn't even realize were already threatening to crush her. the most powerful line for me, the one said before the Bough is obtained proper: "Look at me. And tell me we're still 'one and the same.'" one final act of defiance spoke volumes, spat on the face of everything she endured, everything she stood for. she learned how to move from the past: she learned how to swim. and i was there every step of the way. at least as much as i could. ... god i love this song.

The responder posted 3 different heartbeats, the first 2 being SFX_Heart_Near and SFX_Heart_OneShot which seemed the most likely to be the used sounds for Compass. And like I said before, it might be auditory hallucinations after listening to the song in-fight so much, but I almost feel like the game randomly swaps between those two. OneShot sounds the closest to what I regularly hear used out of the two. Also damn, even my other comment got deleted. I didn't realize UA-cam disliked links in their comments that much.

It’s an obvious detail if you use ishmael often, but it’s something unique that I feel ishmael deserves. I believe ishmael will likely also be the only one with a change to their E.G.O dialogue, since theirs (from what i know) is the only one that talks about their goals. Yi Sang’s E.G.O talks about something i forgot, Faust talks about their knowledge, Don talks about… Rocinante, I guess. Ryōshū’s is an acronym which im not quite sure what its supposed to mean (not the acronym, mind you), meursault’s… I forgot. Hong Lu refers to the world of wonders, likely referencing the fact they came from a mega rich family, heathcliff’s is a threat, rodion’s i also forgot, outis… yeah I forgot that one too. Gregor’s talks about his arm. Ishmael’s is the only one that talks about their obsession and changes to charting their own path, since her compass was freed from Ahab. I’m not that great at analyzing things, or whatever, so if im wrong about something, feel free to correct me.
