Big beaver for sure. The wolf was a real let down. We never found the pinch points until that second last check. I had 4 snares out for that pack. The trail with 3 snares didn't get travelled. T he more open place with 1 snare did. I still have wolf snares set on a line that is half picked up. Glad you like the channel.
We still have part of a mixed line to pick up. Hopefully we'll have a catch or three. My wife works better than a lot of men. Partner is no longer camera shy. He even says "Cherche le Kodak" once in a while! The dog box is on the truck and I'll be sledding soon enough. I might make a small recreational line.
0 seconds ago I sell the pelts. I still have a few wolf sets out but I am not very confident. We have no snow to speak of. Glad to see you are up and about. Looking forward to more of your videos and seeing the pup work.
We don't have that business here. Fox, nobody want them. Wish we could do something about the martens. We have stone and pine martens. How is that with you? Yes I found the motivation to make new videos. Filmed a lot though, just making the "puzzle" was not the right moment. This friday the new video about specks and barnacle, no cover for the dog though. Happy new year!@@musherstails
I like blind sets. That is where you don't use bait or lure and you install your equipment where you thin they will walk. You are predicting where the animal will place its head (snare) or foot (trap) in an entire forest. It is a real challenge. Snow helps because you see where they have been. Too much snow will alter their path. In your environment the fox would be fairly easy to catch. Setting a snare in the tractor rut that runs parallel to your hunting canals would keep a fellow busy skinning!@@HoltanMedia
We have pine marten and they are in demand. A marten is $50 running around. Fox have not been in demand for a few years but they are still $20. Not like the $60 they once were. Looking forward to seeing the video. Happy Nev Year to you and yours with lots of health and good times.@@HoltanMedia

Wonderful forest at 3:12! Very good trapping season even before first winter day, only thing missing is the wolf. Thanks for the vid!
The season isn't over yet! The scenery was great to look at but difficult to work in.

Nice catches my friend! Thank you for sharing!
We didn't have a poor check on those lines all season.
That beaver it's huge
It might be the biggest I ever caught. The tape measure will tell.
@musherstails I think this year it is a good year for traping
80lb beaver is a big beaver anywhere!!!!.
Congratz....you will need a bigger board to stretch that pelt!!!
The scale is off by 10 pounds. But 70 lbs. is still a big one. Partner says it stretched only to 72.
Nice fur
It's looking good.
Hi Musher, shame about the wolf. But still a good line! Do you use them for making your own products? Or sell them?
