  • The ROM site Vimm's Lair has recently pulled many titles from its site at the behest of Nintendo, Sega, Lego, and the ESA. While titles are still there, it's not what it once was.

Omg why people still visit that kind of site? The full Nintendo and Sega Romset up to N64 is less than 16gb.

Its not about if people use it or not, its about preservation, and how companies hate their buyers by gatekeeping games, they will throw money and lawyers to fan kept projects just because it has a copy of their 30 year old game. Thats in a sence illegal specially with how public domaim works. i agree that nintendo should tale matters into their own hands but you need to supply the same content if your gonna take it away.

It might be for a variety of reasons. Some might not know about complete ROM sets. Others might just go with what they're familiar with or trust. Others might just not care because they only want certain games. I don't think there's a definitive answer.
