A Harmonic Minor Scale Hands Together Ascending

  • In this video, I show you how to play the A harmonic minor scale, hands together ascending. This scale differs from the A natural minor scale, as it contains a raised semitone (half step) on the 7TH NOTE (which means the note G thus becomes a G#).
    To play the A harmonic minor scale on the right hand ascending, first place your thumb on the ROOT A, then place your index finger on the next note which is B, middle finger plays C, then TUCK YOUR THUMB under your fingers to play the D note, then the index finger plays E, the middle finger plays F, then your ring finger will play the raised semitone (half step) of G#, with your little finger playing the OCTAVE A.
    To play the A harmonic scale on the left hand ascending, first place your little finger on the ROOT A, then place your index finger on the next note which is B, middle finger plays C, index finger plays D, thumb plays E, then CROSS YOUR FINGERS OVER so that the middle finger plays F, index finger plays G#, then the thumb plays the OCTAVE A.
