I am a former Trump Hater and a Boomer, my opinion of Trump has changed over the last 8 years. I agree with you about Vivek and Byron Donalds I believe each of these men would have been good choices. My hope is that these two men play important rolls in Trumps Administration or become our presidents in the future.

I was the same in 2016. I voted Trump simply because I did not want Hillary. My opinions have completely changed since then. I happily voted for Trump in 2020. I fell for the mainstream media, but I started my own research. I wanted Byron Donalds as VP also. When JD was picked, I did not know much about him. I did my research and I am feeling better.
I can't believe President Trump chose this guy who spoke badly of him. I was hoping he would choose Vivek Ramaswamy. Very sad, but Trump will always have my vote.

I have to disagree with you Officer Tatum on this matter. President Trump does make DEI decisions. He made his decision on whom he thought is best qualified for the position. I appreciate and applaud his leadership on this decision.
1 thing about JD Vance is he is married to an Indian American. She also either was, or still is a registered Democrat. Another tid bit of additional info on Vance is up here in NE Ohio, one of our neighboring towns (aka: East Palestine) had the massive train derailment that was and is detrimental to the town and the surrounding areas: 2, TWO people showed up in East Palestine for the people: Donald J Trump & JD Vance. This was when it took the actual Transportation Secretary Buttigieg 20 whole days to come to this tiny town. And Biden... he didn't even bother coming. But Trump AND Vance showed up for my neighbors in NE Ohio.
Just to add some positivity to this choice 😊 People CAN change. Remember this. One of my best friends, the remainder of my middle school years forward ended up being a girl that I said nasty things about when I didn't even know her well enough to be speaking those things. That same girl remained my best friend throughout high school, and I ultimately ended up being in her wedding. People CAN change, especially within 8-9 years' time.
If the man who was ill spoken of HIMSELF chose him,... I trust Trump, so I trust his choice.
Lastly, here in Ohio, we have a great candidate in JR Majewski, who is a strong MAGA Republican who will no doubt run for Vance's senate seat.
Final thought, I would MUCH RATHER have Trump choose who he felt was RIGHT FOR THE JOB, NOT chosen based on the color of his or her skin color or sex. As a lifetime Republican, even bringing that up makes my skin crawl. WHY are we even discussing that nasty, despicable, repulsive LEFTIST CARD being pulled? That's stooping LOW AF, and we Republicans are BETTER than that.
I'm disappointed. I've wanted for over a year, Byron Donalds, and felt in my bones that he had it in the bag. Strong, smart, can't be bought, young, non-establishment choice. And yes, minority, so this would bring some independents to Trump also. I really hope JD doesn't disappoint. I'd hate to see us go back to where we were after all this pain Trump has gone through for us.

During the 2016 primaries I was a never Trumper. When it came to the general election of 2016, I was tempted to write somebody else in but my pastor ask me to vote for Donald Trump and I took his advice and I'm really glad that I did because within less than a year of him being president I was convinced that he was the greatest president that we ever had and I still am. A lot of people who used to be never Trump is are some of the most loyal trumpers now

That aside his life story from a child, Mom was a drug addict, Father not home, raised by an Amazing Grandmother. Dirt poor his whole life to the Marines to Yale to Thee Ohio St. University. To a successful business owner & then Senator. Family Man, I personally love that hes a Catholic. His better half is well educated & seems to be a Wonderful Wife & Mother. Tucker suprised us all when he endorsed him but he might have knew something we haven't seen yet. Byron Donalds would have been ideal but it was Wonderful to see he had a seat at the table. Grown adults need to vote for whoever they feel is the VERY BEST FOR THE JOB, regardless if they're male/female or what color their skin is, otherwise that person is a token. For a long time I wasn't a Trump fan, either. I'd gotten caught up listening to the Dems airing strategic sound bytes to make Trump look and sound real bad. I felt the unfiltered way he comes across comes off is off-putting, but once I started listening to one-on-one interivews of him is what made me a fan and I could hear exactly what he was for and what he'd accomplished. What an eye opener and game changer for me. STOP spreading the negative about J.D. Vance and see in him what Trump sees in him. GO TRUMP!

I live in Oakland CA and I can tell you that I've talked to several African Americans here that initially were unsure of Trump. Today they tell me they will be voting for Trump/Vance!
You have no idea how happy this makes me. In 2016 I had a few clients (I'm a dog walker/groomer) tell me they no longer want my services because I told them I was voting for Trump. That's typical California mentality....oh boy a lot has charged since 2016.

I think J.D. Vance is a great pick. Loved Vance's book "Hillbilly Elegy." He's literally a self-made man from a very poor family with many issues that Vance understands. Vance is from Ky. Raised by his grandmother in Ohio because his mom was an addict. He don’t have a gifted or sheltered life.
I trust Trump. He's smarter than I am. Maybe there is a reason he would pick someone who does not excite the base.
He could have picked Rosie O'Donnell and I would still vote for him.

1. He is picking someone in a swing state republicans have lost ground in
2. Picked a once dirty poor rise to the top pick for relation to lower class and proceed to gain ground in lower classes
3. Yale trained lawyer vital for a president that is being legally targeted on a constant basis
4. Counterweight, trump has also sought someone out that serves as a differentiator on his own views for a different opinion, he did with pence as much as pence fucked up, that's what trump feels most comfortable with while serving self evidently
5. Generally a legitimately sound, religious, gritty strong leader, who changed his mind on trump based on shifting perspectives, it's important to sympathise with where he came from, pure nothing the group liberal media targets.
6. Picked a veteran to try to maintain likely ability from an otherwise dislikeable mismatch trump pick.
Remember. Trump needs talent across the board. DHS secretary comes to mind. Dept of Treasury. Secretary of Education...see what im throwing down?

Byron Donalds would be a great choice! Unfrortunately he is from the same state of Florida and it would be very problematic to pick him because of the rules.
