The greatest bd ever WILL BROOKS was like a father figure to me and him and kev changed my life i was headed down the wrong path and they talked me into dedicating my time into band practice instead of doing the wrong thing that would’ve sent me to jail or in a box. Coming in hot!🔥🔥14K Gold Dancers were amazing. They held their own, with precision, authenticity, and complexity in their expression of art form through dance. Their energy had me looking and wanting more, proving that one style does not fit all. I loved the control that could be heard from the band starting from the beginning to the end. The Wildcats brought the fire and the desire, can't wait to see more.🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Thanks for the quality footage and good job to all the bands.
Most bands with numbers has power! I Like bands with personality! Not finger pointing at other bands across the field😒 brass horns are loud but where is the individual styles? Most artist are not copycats😣👎🏾😊

Hats off to the members of my Boom, and all the HBCUs. All of the schools did really well. Though I'm slightly bias to the Boom due to my previous involvement, but I have to tip my hat to the Rivals, and I was really proud to see BCU switch it up. They were very clean and love the song selection. To the Human Juke Box, they brought it as usual and looking forward to another BoomBox Classic this year. Great job to all the schools. These students worked really hard and I'm super proud of them. Being a former band member and man of music I dont like to speak down on other schools. I know how hard it is to produce what all of these schools have brought to the stands. Praying for a successful year for all of these school's.

The SWAC is about to be a battlefield EVERY GAME!!!. I truly feel like anybody can catch an L any week at the moment. Every band has sounded pretty good. Let one of the top 3 slack a week and rankings will definitely shift. In past you pretty much knew who would likely win battle each week. I feel there might be actual debates to be made throughout the season (That actually make sense and are proved through logic and not emotions lol) Good job everyone!

Outstanding job SBoTS (WT 04 4LYFE)! Amazing performance! I can’t for THEE BOOMbox Classic to see the clash of the two SWAC titans JSU & SU. On another note we should have a conversation about having all four power HBCU conferences (CIAA, MEAC, SIAC, & SWAC) having a BOTB. The make up of this event should somewhat mirror the virtual band Olympics that @Steven Holiday put together with also having a twist of ESPN’s band of the year competition. Through out the marching season the best four bands from each conference will be selected to battle each other. After that battle of the bands the two best bands will be selected to merge in to a conference band and represent their respective conference in the HBCU Band Olympics. The battles should be both Stands and field Show. The categories that should make up the scores are Field drill, field ballad, hype stand tune1, dance and or auxiliaries features ( both stand and field) and hype stand tune two. For a better understanding of this break down check out the 2023 Scholiday College virtual BOTB which was the orchestrator of the both virtually. The judges the I recommend for such an epic event are @STEVEN HOLIDAY, @KBTHEBANDHEAD, @THEROGERSBROS, @KINGKVO, & @WATTSARRANGEMENTS. IMO These gentlemen give great perspective and will always give an unbiased opinion!

Top 3 bands from NBOTB 1. Southern 2. Jackson State 3. Tennessee State but all bands held they weight … “NO LIE” (PV, TxSU, Miles, Tuskegee & Bethune) *SOUTHERN “HUMAN JUKEBOX” WAS JUST UNTOUCHABLE !!! 💪🏾💨🔥😈
I wasn't feeling Southern's slow version of "Not Like Us," so I'll pass on that. Their second tune was better. Cookman and 14K were amazing! 14K brought the HEAT! I loved Jackson State's song selection and their intensity; BBL Grizzy was hilarious! Tennessee State sounds good. Prairie View was hyped, and I really enjoyed their energy. I'm proud of Tuskegee; their band has come a long way in just a year. The girls are really good, but the flags should probably sit while the dancers are up. Miles College sounds good! Their flags should also probably sit while the dancers are up, or move to the sides like Cookman. Texas Southern sounds good as well, and their girls are really good too, lots of precision in their dancing. Overall, it was an AWESOME stands battle! BCU hands down especially the dance squad they brought the energy.…… the hard work every band ,dance squads ,directors put in is incredible …we appreciate it all..as a former band member I know the work and love it takes…you got to love it…I must say I am a diehard JSU fan…BCU is unmatched in my opinion as of now. I didn’t like the tempo at all.
I wasn't feeling Southern's slow version of "Not Like Us," so I'll pass on that. Their second tune was better. Cookman and 14K were amazing! 14K brought the HEAT! I loved Jackson State's song selection and their intensity; BBL Grizzy was hilarious! Tennessee State sounds good. Prairie View was hyped, and I really enjoyed their energy. I'm proud of Tuskegee; their band has come a long way in just a year. The girls are really good, but the flags should probably sit while the dancers are up. Miles College sounds good! Their flags should also probably sit while the dancers are up, or move to the sides like Cookman. Texas Southern sounds good as well, and their girls are really good too, lots of precision in their dancing. Overall, it was an AWESOME stands battle! BCU hands down especially the dance squad they brought the energy.…… the hard work every band ,dance squads ,directors put in is incredible …we appreciate it all..as a former band member I know the work and love it takes…you got to love it…I must say I am a diehard JSU fan…BCU is unmatched in my opinion as of now. I love the Sette’s but constructed criticism is needed … something is missing.it’s early in the season so there’s work to be done…. I know there will be cupcakes pissed at my comment about the Sette’s but I don’t give a crap…And when you come for me I will hit your asses back…
