A great video seeing you working the ground with your Son! You are making memories to last a lifetime for that young man. God bless you and your family. Stay safe and healthy this Holiday Season.
That's a good thing that you're doing. Teaching your son how to operate a tractor and a folding disc harrow. I love the country life and he is a handsome young man on your side.
Seeing you and your son farming together brings back lots of me and my dad on the John deere 4030 I thought it was the best thing ever when I got to drive for the first time
😁My daughters best time in the tractors is snack time. Great memories being made there. Hope your all keeping well? Would a scallop row of discs not help cut up those stalks a bit better for you? Still a tidy set up though. Well done on the auto steer upgrade but the lifetime subscription is a costly one 😁😂👍 Stay safe 🏴 👌 👍
Thank you Ian. There are probably a bunch of vertical tillage tools that would break the stalks up better but I don't have one so the disk is what I use
@@mikep7810 good aftrenoon well it is here in cold damp Scotland any way. Totally with you on the use what we have thing it's the same here for us on our farm. It might be worthwhile for you when the discs on your implement require changing to fit scallop ones and not change out the whole machine for no reason as a lot of the new top down stuff seems to be new take on old technologies. Why totally change something if it works 😉 classic tractors👍
Kool to see ur kid steering the tractor making memories for the both of u im sure he will appreciate that when he's older congrats on getting tillage all done
We tried planting just alfalfa and take a cutting late that summer and didn't like how it turned out. we went back to planting them with oats and combining the oats and getting the alfalfa the following season
I bet your glad fall tillage is done. Now it’s time to relax for a few months, and start all over again in April. This weather is perfect to try to get ahead of tillage.. great video... your auto steer is doing a great job... have fun Mike
@@rickperry9546 Thats good. I swear by getting into the pool. Gives you resistance but you aren't messing with weights. Thats what we did for my daughter when she broke her leg
@Michael Brandao I will chisel plow it in the spring. Im breaking up the stalks so they will break down better during the winter and compost in the ground
Nice video! Good job for this time of year! Good to see the future of the farm riding along... I did that a lot when I was a kid... till I got big enough to prove I knew what to do...
Mike, I enjoyed seeing your sidekick driving, he did a great job. In 4 or 5 more years he will be doing it all by himself. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
Thanks Gerald. I better get better at flying that drone cause soon thats all ill be doing is filming everyone else working! Merry Christmas to you and your family too!
Hey mike i was watching your videos this morning and you do have a lot.of water up there i lok one time you had 40ins of snow Do you do.any other job other than working pn the farm have a good any safe day
Being able to get tillage done in the fall is a big head start on the spring. We are able to do some soil testing and got lime and potash down where needed.
You need to update tractors so he will have a buddy seat to sit in need to learn the boss to run that tractor I grew up around all kinds of heavy equipment by the time I was five my dad had thought me how to drive everthing
Lol it sure is. I was looking at an older video from chisel plowing and was thinking "man what a crooked row" then remembered i was steering with my knee while flying

When you go from corn to alfalfa you obviously plant the alfalfa in the spring. How many cuttings will you get starting from seed?

What causes the drone to be blurry?
could be the signal between the controler and drone.

Thanks Menno. It should make some great organic matter
Do you hit that with the chisel plow in spring?
Yeah I'm just knocking down the stalks and breaking them up so they will be broke down before I chisel plow in the spring.
Love to see you your dad or you do fall plowing you don't see a lot of that on UA-cam and explain how it all goes doing the plowing
My last video was of my dad plowing and I did another one a couple videos ago
One Pringle’s cup is never enough either
Thats for sure. I needed the big container
