Why would we trade Collin Sexton for a pick that gets us a 50% chance of getting a rotation player???? Why??? Sexton is good, keep him. John Collins is good, keep him. Their age fits our timeline. They are appealing to other teams because they are good so keep them!! Keep playing the tank game this year, but sign Sexton and Collins and let's go. I would only be willing to trade those guys if we landed a bonified point guard who committed to stay. But don't trade them for picks. We have enough already. We have some good young talent with George, Sensabuagh, Flip and Hendricks and will get two more top 15 picks this year.
How does their age fit our timeline? We aren't going to be a serious playoff team until 28-29 at the earliest. Sure if they are willing to stick around knowing we will be terrible until that point then great. But you have to assume that for players that are starters or high minute bench players getting paid roughly the same amount no matter the team, have the same role anywhere they go, that they would rather have a chance at winning during their career. You're assuming that Collins and Sexton want to be here through all that and it's highly unlikely.
I mean you also have to consider that they are winning us too many games as crazy as that sounds. Neither one is a star, but both are competent NBA players that could play the Jazz out of a top 3 pick. So as much as it hurts, sometimes the value you get for guys like that is better lottery odds.
If we trade Sexton we can lock in a top 5 pick which in this years draft is stacked with potential superstars let alone players better than Collin sexton.
The Jazz aren’t trading Sexton for a bad contract and a late first round pick. The Jazz aren’t the one giving up a first in a Kings trade. I’m sure Ainge and Zanik don’t mind keeping the vets we have if they aren’t receiving good value in return.
Not at all. Collin Sexton just wins us a few games that we shouldn’t and our hurts draft position, hurting our chance at a superstar. Collin Sexton is not a superstar and can’t play any defense so he’s not worth keeping if it hurts our odds at a superstar.
@@drlovesausage i got that but still i do not see jimmy being interested to join jazz. he wants to win, there is no fun playing in miami i bet e wont find it fun playing for jazz during tankathon, nuggets on the other hand. I've seen a trade proposal butler for Michael porter jr (plus little smth i guess). if nuggets are fine with burning a bit of a future for a real chance to win a chip they could do this. miami could get a long term player (again) if they think he could be a part of a winning team, and then try to find a star during off-season/next year
Money aside, the Jazz won’t do a deal with the Lakers because we have their 2027 first round pick. Why would we help them get better right when that pick hits?
Like Jazz didn't trade Conley for Timberwolves and make them better because a) Conley was better b) Conley helped them understand how to use Rudy (even if Conley himself has not been that good this year).
Danny Ainge KNOWS...trust me...any win total over 20 would be disastrous! Sell Collin and Collins!! Sagg for the Flagg...Ace is the Place! or The much better of the Harper boys!
Sexton and Collins don’t care about the Utah Jazz’s future. They are playing to make their next contract as big as possible (as they should). Don’t lose perspective, they aren’t starting for a championship roster, they are starting for the fifth worst team in the league. Trade them, anything we get back is just icing. If we keep half-*ssing this tank, it will last forever.
With Jimmy Butler forcing his way out of Miami, why not go for Tyler Herro? I'd trade Collin Sexton or John Collins and a first rounder (or two) for him.
Pretty terrible idea tbh. What is the point for the Jazz, or either team even? Are we trying to be bad or good? Why would we be buying right now? Herro doesn't all of a sudden make us a good team (especially if we are giving up Sexton and Collins), so why are we pushing in our chips for him?
@@drlovesausage I've heard from several people that Herro is starting to hit his stride and could be a top 5 PG in the next year or two. He's only 24 and he's averaging more points than Trey Young and shoots 40% from three. The reason it makes sense for the Jazz is that in order to complete a rebuild, you need three solid players (one top 10 guy, one all-star, and one boarder-line all star). Pair him with Lauri and we at least have options 2 and 3. We also are young and have depth, which puts us in a much better space to go "Big Game Hunting." I could understand the argument of waiting until the end of the year to see where we land in the draft, but unless we get a top 3 pick, this would be the best move to make to rebuild our team. Does that make sense?
@@chrismerrill9900 Yeah I know Herro has been having a great year, but I also just don't see the Heat getting rid of him as like you said he's only 24. If they do go through a mini rebuild, I think he's the only player on their roster that they would for sure want to keep (I think they would trade Bam before they trade Herro ).I would be more in favor of the trade say next season if we end up drafting a stud and keep our good veterans and all of a sudden we are a .500 team, then we end up adding a piece like Herro. The way I see it now, if we were to trade Sexton, Collins, and 2 picks I don't think it really gets us anywhere as Sexton and Collins combined probably give the same or better production than Herro. And with that trade, we do lose our veteran depth so we kind of just end up where we are now, minus the picks we would have to give up. I do like Herro as a player and would love him on the Jazz, but I just don't think now's the right time (MAYBE next year, but most likely two or three years from now, that is IF the Heat are willing to trade him which I just don't see unless we give up a lot).
Love Lauri but we know he’s not a #1 option for a championship team. If we had an all star guard to pair with him he could be a great 2nd or 3rd option on a championship team.
What about trades with Detroit or Indiana? What's nembhard make?

i also do not get that. we send a 100% started to get a 50% chance for rotation player.
but cole + 1 round pick might actually work

Trading Sexton is like preemptively trading up in the draft. It will help lose more games.
fun show

I'm down for that trade, but could we do Clarkson instead of Sexton?
I genuinely don't think we could any value for Clarkson. I would honestly love it if we could just buy him out and basically pay him not to play
Trading sexton would be a huge mistake by this org

i thought sexton was going to the kings
butler is not interested to join jazz. the only trade for butler & heat is Denver, if both teams are up to it.
I think David's saying that he would technically be on the Jazz, but wouldn't play at all. We'd just be holding on to him to deal him in the offseason

cj mcollum for guards
Love how he totally ignores the possibility of a 3 team + trade

that would be funny, get herro, get flagg. Starting lineup Markkanen, Kessler, Herro, Flagg, Filipowski

Can we trade for and waive Russell Westbrook again?
there is a ZERO!!!!!!!!!!!!! chance that Danny buys!!!!!!! He's not that stupid!!!!
