- We kick off our look at Batman Beyond with where it begins, in the future a bunch of ruffians wind up in front of Wayne Manor, and Batman tells the kids to get off his lawn while waving his cane at them. That is not a joke.
3:20 To me what really works about this is that it ISN'T "Old-man Batman", but "Batman as an old man." Who he is is not fundamentally changed. Everything about his iconic personality is there. It's Batman dealing with a new challenge: His own body.

The legacy of unfortunate Harries lives on.

@@HiroshiMizushima In another timeline a certain couple decided this, and thus they didn't get killed and their kid didn't become the Chosen One and had a mostly normal childhood.

This had me loving Terry from the get go. He has a lot of room for improvement, but he as good heart and a strong sense of right and wrong. With Bruce training him, I could easily see him being Batman.
I don't remember liking Terry all that much; he grew on me. But badass ancient Bruce Wayne had me hooked.
@@boobah5643 Yeah, Terry started as 'eh' but grew on me too. And he also grew into the role of Batman. He was different than Bruce in approach, but that was his strength. He was a Batman for a cyberpunk future that was different. This is why how they ended the series on the revelation of Terry's real origin angered me. I thought that was an insult to Terry's own efforts to take up the mantle of Batman.
What I really love is that the movie did a great job of highlighting how Terry's own personality had some great attributes that allowed him to exploit weaknesses the original batman never could.

@@thedigodragon especially that he is a Spider-Man knock off of Spider-Man but do you ever wonder what would it be like if Helena Wayne was in the series?

I would love to see (as I'm sure others would) like to see a live action movie of Batman Beyond with Michael Keaton as an aged Bruce Wayne... But I don't see it happening because that's what we want!
