I have not been through a DUI check point in years. From the stats that I have seen they do not catch many DUI suspects. Plus I think they are illegal. A driver is being stopped without probable suspicion that they have committed a crime or about to comit a crime. Check points are unconstitutional.
Police cannot pull you over solely for the purpose of identification in NC. They must have reasonable, articulable suspicion that you have committed, are committing, or are about to commit a crime. NC is not a stop and identify state.

Checkpoints are bull. Its just a way for cop generate funds for the state. Plus they get incentives..
