On the 12th of September 2024 at 05:30 BST the UA-cam algorithm presented a mini build, I'm British so I couldn't resist. I kept looking at the time line, ten years ago, I didn't watch UA-cam then, however I've watched 100's of car rebuilds and 1000's of car episodes from around the world. At 16:42 on 13th of September I've left my one comment. I can't add to the amazing comments I've read over the years but one that came up often was about just finding this series and having all these episodes to watch. I've watched nothing else in the past two days only stopping to sleep. Most amazing build I've ever watched. It's been emotional enough watching the lucky way I have. Project Binky..... I salute you. Thank you.
What is amazing is that Pete From Cortina C can actually build a couple of Cortina's from scratch, as he remakes all the rust eaten panels, in the time Binky struggles to make one car.
Amazing. Just speechless. When i watched you make the parts for this Mini years ago, I was convinced everything looks just like an OEM would've made it. But the parts you're making now, years later, somehow look even more professional and OEM. I'm also especially impressed by how you manage to make the video player say the video is 33 minutes long when I'm convinced that was only 5 minutes.
True. Story:I had a bad head injury. Amnesia is a bad deal. My new life began 2weeks before the channel opened. Although I don’t recall all of my teenaged years learning about car mechanic. I remember when I first found you guys, back in, I dunno, episode 6 or 7. And thinking "Wow, they've been at this almost 2 years, it must suck to be one of their original viewers having to hold their suspense this long, and here I come along as a freeloader when it's almost done." That was 7+ years ago. :D I've started my own car project, 4 years ago for a "summer project" that's maybe 1/3 done, with 3% of the challenge yours has. Watching you guys has led me to respect the power of feature creep, and to help me say "No, get it driving first" a thousand times, because I have the same urges as you guys do. Instead, I live vicariously through all your "it would be great if..." that you actually get to do, while I preserve my sanity by denying them to myself. As you guys roll towards the bittersweet finish line here, I'm grateful that people like you exist in the world. 20 years ago this would never have been possible, and if it was, no one would have had a chance to see it happen. Thanks for going the extra mile to document this, (at the expense of taking 3x as long I'm sure), for all of us strangers.

Actually, there is one channel, aaroncake, and his 1976 Mazda RX-5 Cosmo, that's been going on for longer. He got the car 15 years ago, and started working on it 12 years ago, according to the video dates.
I have just found this series and have been riveted, only to find that this started life a decade ago and I've got to this episode to find it's not finished yet. I can only imagine the sheer patience your long term viewers have to have started with episode one way back when! That being said what an absolute beaut this machine looks!!
Egads, that was worth the wait. The technical intricacies tied in with the subtle humour of nailing nic as a bender/dipstick at every available opportunity. The unparalleled soundtrack. The almost Germanic attention to each individual custom part being perfectly engineered to carry out more than one task. But with more tea....🇬🇧 The sheer bloody mindedness of producing the best you possibly can in every aspect of this build. Unmitigated brilliance, a testament to the best of British shedding. I yearn for more Escargot off the back of this, even if it is a cheese eating surrender monkey dish with an onion up its arse and a garlic clove in each ear. The day this horse of death is borne by the great snail upon *insert racetrack of choice here* will be a sight to behold. A toast of tea and biscuits ladies and gentlemen, to Project Binky!
I remember being underwhelmed when I saw you do the door cards way back when, not knowing the plans you had in store for them. This has honestly just blown me away!
Totally understand that you've had some major issues in resolving the instrument displays but what I don't understand is surely you must have more than enough footage to have uploaded another episode by now....
Found this channel thanks to superfastmatt and his "bracket" montage. Im glad I did, the fabrication in this project is simply another level. I was about halfway through the playlist before I realized the first video was 10 years ago, and this one was 4 months ago - so now Im part of the long list of people eagerly awaiting the next one!
Finally an update after 11 months...glad you are still alive! If you can't tell you guys were missed big time. Hope you are doing as well as you can be.
A thousand hosannas! I'm going to have to explain to all the new neighbors why I'm out late at night slamming the car-doors. Great work as ever, gents!
Nearly fell of my chair when this episode appeared on my screen on a random UA-cam visit. It's been so long now I had forgotten about this brilliant series which I have backed up an an external drive , a remarkable display of skills , ingenuity and a nice touch of humour. This is without doubt the best series of true car customisation / modification far above any others out there , forget the just adding bling , bolt on parts , this is true engineering at it's raw best. Much respect guys , ah well , time for a cuppa. Lol.
So in 6 days I have found the project Binky series, watched every episode, and every episode of Escargot and Bargain Racement, yeah these 2 are good, the fab skills are insane. Great job guys
I actually really thought this would be the final episode. I’d apparently forgotten about the two universal constants: light speed and Project Binky. Jokes aside, you’re defenders of our inner child’s dreams. Though I know the actual project is a lot of the fun, I’m also so exited to see Binky finished! Keep at it chaps
You just have to admire guys like these who slave away in their garages and one day emerge with something unique and special,,,,,, I take my hat off to you 👏
I can feel the sense of satisfaction hearing the little slick clicks from the door mechanisms and that positive sharp thump of the door closing. Engine bay also looks sharp with the symmetry in and out of the turbo. What a car...
I have been watching this from the beginning and have enjoyed every little bracket, fitting, and problem solved. I have enjoyed this so much more than other projects where everything was laser-cut, CNC machined, aerospace quality welded into such rarified air, no mere mortal could ever drive it. Those cars have their place and that are fun in the galactic budget sense, but this is how I started building and I really appreciate the obsession over details. Overall, I prefer to have my fingerprints on something I built rather than having bought a part CNC milled from unobtanium that costs so much one can't discuss the amount in polite society. I also appreciate the British vocabulary lessons. While I feel as if I know many of the words you folks use for different parts, I learned a new one today; chimney nut. That's new for me. In the U.S. we call that a speed nut. Oh, and I love the British humor too, and, the lack of nonsense drama. Nothing but pure, oldschool, fabrication geekery and detail obsession. It will actually be a little sad when it's finished. To quote Deep Purple, It's not the kill, it's the thrill of the chase... I can't wait for the next episode. Carry on gentlemen.
Even though it's not quite finished yet, this is easily the most astonishing Mini ever made. The attention to detail is incredible. I can't get over how close to OE the whole thing looks and I hope that Alec Issigonis is looking down from upstairs with an approving grin and a thumbs up.
I was wondering when a new Bracket Obsession Motorsport episode would come out a few days ago, and here it is. Loved it as always. The car is looking amazing.

Sensational work! Was lovely to show my 15mo old the first ep in her lifetime
She might be 15 years before the next episode 🤣🤣🤣
It's finally here! One of the few shows on youtube I'll drop everything for to watch immediately
Project Binky... best 27 years of my life!!
Brilliant work yet again. I love the fact that five generations of my family have now watched this Binky series over the years.
This comment is priceless.
Wow, hahaha, well said. Shakespeare of the UA-cam comment section
Did you have a stroke halfway through or did your edible kick in?
And for all that attention to detail neither of them thought to buy a frikkin trailer that Binky would fit on. Not all that perfect then?
Project Binky! 🥂
Will you keep doing binky I started watching when I was 14 I’m 24 now!😂 just want to see the beauty finished
I remember being underwhelmed when I saw you do the door cards way back when, not knowing the plans you had in store for them. This has honestly just blown me away!
Mom the new Binky episode just got posted!!
Always a great email to get, also really missing the escargo.
The freakin Halley's comet comes around more often than a Binky episode
😂😂😂
Totally understand that you've had some major issues in resolving the instrument displays but what I don't understand is surely you must have more than enough footage to have uploaded another episode by now....
See you all in another 11-12 months for the next update ;)
Looking good though! Not much to do now.
Not much to do is what i thought after each and every episode... But cheers mate i think were close to seeing it running in about 3-4 years
Nah I reckon they've taken the time to plan out a few episodes this time, probably until completion.
Actually... Perhaps 17+ Months away....
How you think ahead with detail, has always impressed me. Great job guys
This is the best birthday gift a fan could ask for, a new episode of my beloved Project Binky
I remember when bom used to spit out 2 or 3 binky episodes a year
Aaaaaany day now another episode will drop, I can just about smell it!
I was an embryo when this series started. I’m discussing it in my master’s thesis now.
Even 42 years later this is still the best channel for car building. I just hope I'm alive to see Binky finished.
Amazing work again guys. I love the 'its harder than the easy way' approach :D
Your builds are amazing as well, Jeff! Can’t wait to see that yellow monster hit the road.
got a little emotional seeing Binky gently stroked into the parcel shelf …… is this the true definition of Bad Obsession? ❤
Watching in reverse to see two guys save a half finished project car that has been sitting in a barn for 10 years.
Most underrated comment ever 😂.
Finally an update after 11 months...glad you are still alive!
If you can't tell you guys were missed big time.
Hope you are doing as well as you can be.
Absolutely awesome episode chaps. Please don't leave it too for episode 39 x
Freddie saying hello was absolute epic!! Top notch craftsmanship guys thanks a lot for sharing
A thousand hosannas! I'm going to have to explain to all the new neighbors why I'm out late at night slamming the car-doors. Great work as ever, gents!
11months later, still waiting for that dash install..
Worth waiting for! See you all same time next year for episode 39 folks! 🍻
Happy day when a new Project Binky drops. This thing has been going on so long it started in Black & White.
Me too. I think I’m actually past caring
OH GOD IT'S FINALLY HERE
EPISODE 38
I HAVEN'T BEEN THIS HAPPY TO SEE A VIDEO ARRIVE SINCE EPISODE 37 OF PROJECT BINKY
I'm watching this while my wife is in the beginning stages of labor, thanks for keeping my mind occupied, perfect timing!
One year, four months, eleven days.
That’s how long it’s been since episode 37.
Let’s hope the wait for episode 39 isn’t as long.
It has been longer actually :( That dash was more complicated than they thought I guess 😂
Nice to have you back guys.
The intro never gets old, unlike the rest of us.
You just have to admire guys like these who slave away in their garages and one day emerge with something unique and special,,,,,, I take my hat off to you 👏
It would be the greatest series on UA-cam….if it were ever finished or at least continued….?
I’ve never been as excited for a UA-cam video 🎉
I can feel the sense of satisfaction hearing the little slick clicks from the door mechanisms and that positive sharp thump of the door closing. Engine bay also looks sharp with the symmetry in and out of the turbo. What a car...
I can but admire the mastery of bracketry which Nik displays every single episode. 💙
The bracket in the door to hold the zip tie for the window control switch cable. Holy crap! Did he ACTUALLY think of that WAAAAAY back even then???
Will need restoring soon.
I've seen less care go into rebuilding an engine than Nick puts into a fabricating a bracket
Just imagine someone’s joy to just discover this build and can start at the beginning.
Actually we all could probably start back at the beginning and watch them as if they were “new” as well.
Cold four pack in the fridge, curry just arrived, jeeber freshly rolled, here's me thinking my Friday night couldn't get any better!
Water pump colour coding, easy to remember:
Black for Back, Red for Rear.
Happy to help.
I work graveyard shift in the oil industry in the U.S. came across your channel via The Skid Factory. Benge watches the entire series of building Binky over the last 3 nights. Happy to have found people crazy enough to do something like this while keeping a OEM look.
This Project had led us on and then finished without an ending - so frustrating.
Gotta be coming round to another instalment or have you ladies fell out.
Binky deserves finishing.
Fantastic. A Tavarish appearance and a Vice Grips Garage reference in the same episode. Perfect.
I watched the first episode as a single, met my wife, got married, had two kids, both are in school now and we got divorced. Insane 😂
Keep the great work up guys!
