I love wildflowers and I would call that red color "Indian Paintbrush." Fun millcast! Thanks!
I love the name "turquoise and friends"!
Hi from Australia ! Great "millcasts" ! Very relaxing to watch and I am enjoying looking at your beautiful yarns !
Thank you! 😊 So fun to know that we've got folks half way around the globe tuning in!
Love the capulet pattern and the variegated yarn colours ❤✨✨
Thank you! 😊
I am just discovering you two lovelies and I am so appreciative of your teaching and your authenticity. Who knew so many steps go into what you do?! (city girl from california here.) Thank you!
So glad you found us!
I’m binge watching your Millcasts. Found you on The Woolly Thistle but will buy direct from you in the future!
Any-hoo….. I’m a born and raised New Englander living in the mountains of NC. Similar weather to southern New England but not so harsh and definitely more daylight! When I lived in New England, I think I owned every color turtleneck made by Lands End! The beauty of living in NC is that I don’t need to wear turtlenecks anymore!
Love your Millcast and the factory yours by machine! Very informative!
Robin, we're glad you found us!
one of my favorite podcasts! this weekend i'm gonna decide which retreat to attend-- definitely a must do treat!
Yay! We can't wait!
Thank you for another fun and informative episode, your enthusiasm is infectious. I'd love to see a red, maroon or rust with the solids.
We've gotten a lot of requests for rust so that's definitely in the queue! Thanks so much for watching!
I think that the dyed in the wool needs a dark red to round out the group. Another great mill cast!❤
Thanks Vicky!
I've only just found your channel, but I was fascinated to see the processing of your yarn in the mill. I look forward to watching some more of your videos. Thank you 🙂
To prevent a lint explosion in the washing machine, I place my items to be felted in an old pillow case. For smaller items I put one in each corner and twist the fabric of the pillow case and put an elastic band around the twist to keep the item in the corner. Put through a regular wash cycle with jeans or towels. I don't think I have ever needed to do more than 1 wash cycle. If I need a little bit more felting, I take it out of the pillowcase and pop it in the dryer and check the progress after 5 or 10 minutes. Then the excess wool is easy to pick out of the corners of the pillow case. Try it!!! You will be smiling. Guaranteed!
That is great advice! Thanks so much. For next time!
Totally loving your podcasts! Thank you for taking the time to do them. As a knitter this is so interesting to me. ♥️. SUBSCRIBED‼️
You are so welcome!
Really liked seeing the process for Making Tracks. I also really like your millcast. I wish there was a way the local folks could join your retreat.
Stay tuned! We are working on it ;)
Absolutely enjoying the millcast!! Love seeing the process of how the yarn is made and dyed. The solids you added are beautiful! Can't wait to see what you guys come up with next!
These mill casts are so great! I love learning all about what you do and appreciate the yarn even more after seeing them! That pin drafter on this episode - how much fun!!! Looks like cotton candy coming off of it. The new red - awesome! Love the name "Red Hots" for it too.
I'm absolutely loving these intense saturated colors you are getting like in the new Firefly and Vermont Vice - maybe you said neon (?) dyes? Wondering about something bright in the yellow family like this? Also wondering about a deep rich version of Making Tracks - only tones of black - warm black, cool black, slate black, deep raspberry black, rust black... I think it would be pretty with your Fog as part of your neutral palette.
Thanks! And so many great ideas!! We were just talking about how the fluorescent/super brights are some of our favorites and we love the idea of adding a yellow to the line. They're just so dramatic... Also love the suggestion of black tones. We really appreciate the comment!
Red yarn name idea: Cranberry bog
oh, goodness! i just received my hat and yarn i ordered 🤩. all high quality and so darned beautiful! thanks so much-- always fun to get an "even better than expected" package...
Yes, I agree with the other commenter. A solid color in the orange range but more muted like burnt orange, rust, or copper. You might expand the blue range with a dark slate blue, maybe. I have been really enjoying the Millcast and look forward to trying out your yarns in the future. Those red hanks also remind me of spicy red hots. Wishing you continued success!
I love Aurora Borealis it’s so vibrant. I think it would be fun to try for the Junction Cowl! Iris💕
Absolutely! We'd love to see photos if you did!
Love you guys! So fun watching you guys bounce off each other🤩
Had to buy the one of the tracks today!
Definitely red would be great to round out your beautiful colors! Keep it up guys!!
Aw thanks!! Hope you enjoy your order!
Add the Xmas Red minus the brown you just showed in the hanks hanging off your chair
Hi! Great podcast! I need to come buy some of the yarn! I guess I should have warned you about the length of time felting by hand takes. It's definitely a process! Your mittens look great.
Thanks! I'm glad I went through it at least once by hand :)
So many beautiful colors! And so fun to see BTS of how you create “Making Tracks” ❤
i love your intro music
Thanks! It's "Wordsmith" by Julian Lage from Modern Lore
Great episode - interesting to see what goes into making tracks. I love the new red blend - some names that come to mind - Sangria, Old Barn, Snowberry. And for the solids palette, I would consider a rust. I’ve knit making tracks into a sweater and it’s fabulous! I appreciate that there are not bands on the skeins but it also left me forgetting the colorway name.
Love the rust idea! And great feedback on the bands. For online orders, we ship with one band per colorway but our in-person sales we usually don't have time to band them. We'll consider banding them all or making bands folks can take home and write on themselves :)
Just stunning yarn. I really want to knit the Andrea Mowry shawl 😃. Shame shipping is so expensive to Uk 🇬🇧 at this time. Great episode again 🎉
Great to hear we have someone all the way from the UK tuning in! We haven't sent yarn across the pond yet, but perhaps sometime we can make that work. Cheers!
🤗🧶
LOVE the color combo on that cowl, Peg! Although I have to say, what I'm really dying to know is which sweater pattern Amanda has on in the kitchen with the snowflakes on the elbows--too good.
Hi Catie! It's actually a *gasp* store bought one from Naadam. Very cozy though!
I love this episode! I really need to knit that Jenn Steingass sweater using Making Tracks!! It’s gorgeous!
Give it a try!
@@junctionfibermill oh my gosh yes!! I’ll be shopping this weekend 😊
@@Tisjustme On line is open, of course, but the mill will be closed. We are having an open house tomorrow, Friday, from 3 - 5p!
@@junctionfibermill oh my gosh i wish i was closer! Thank you I’ll order online.
Another great millcast!!!! You guys are naturals and so fun to listen to! Love to see what you both are working on. As a beginner you make it sound fun and encouraging!!!
That is so great to hear! Keep at it!
Ha. When I lived in North Conway (actually Intervale) in the early 1960s, there were no outlet stores. Another world
Well haven't things changed! North Conway is LOADED with outlet stores.
Correction - the grandsons are 2.5 years and 7 months (not 6 years) old
I’d be happy to be recruit just to name colors and collections. 💗
Keep 'em coming!!
