I watchd this video before purchasing a 2013 RX350 FSport at a local dealership. It’s has just 117k miles and was we’ll taken care of. I’ve had it for a week now and really love it. First luxury car I’ve purchased. It’s quiet, comfortable, and has very soft leather seats. Pretty good for a SUV priced in the mid-teens.
For high performance driving I prefer the Colorado desert off-road trails on my 2018 KTM 350 EXC-F. Driving high performance cars on the street is an addiction that I happily no longer have. No kids, and no human partner, so my 2014 Lexus RX 350 is the best car imaginable for my lifestyle: the RX is quiet, has good mileage and great handling, perfect acceleration from s stop, and on top of all these qualities, I think it the 2014 RX 350 is truly one of the most beautiful cars ever built; each time I prepare to journey into the garage, I am amazed at the shape and sleekness, and the beautiful light silver exterior and matching leather seats simply create the frequency vibrations within me that make me smile. Great video Alex, thank you for taking the time to evaluate this Lexus!
In general I like your flow and your choice of words. One thing though: Talk about Lexus reliability more. Also - since in the Lexus review you highlight how other brands have nicer features and more power- When you review those other brands, make sure talk about how they will probably break down on ya and run you broke to maintain and how a better option is a Lexus
Yo! You have to stop complaining about the infotainment system in Lexus cars. The joystick is not difficult to use. Haven't you ever used a desktop before? It's the same thing. The reason its not touchscreen is because the screen is far back on the dashboard and it would be a huge safety hazard if you had to touch the screen. Lexus by far has the best system than Ford's or GM's systems, especially the crap from Volvo, which looks outdated.
my uncle has 06 lexus rx...which is by the far best touch screen and super easy to reach any function in the system...let me tell you that 06 lexus rx were the bad ass trucks..and yet better than newer american SUVS...so is the current one as well
If you are looking for vehicles outside the usual suspects, the IS F-Sport is an interesting entry. Check out the Volvo S60 T6 AWD R-Design, it's a long name but one of the sportier entries in this segment. Also, you might want to wait until the new Infiniti Q50 is in dealers, it promises to mix things up a bit as well.
Lexus is far more reliable than those other brands ... compare to what each are selling for now in comparison years later. Lexus hold it's value better.
Yes I did. It was a great review. Probably the best so far. It was very helpful because I myself am 6 feet tall so the room for myself in the drivers seat as well as people in the back. I turn 16 soon and I was looking for a nicer sportier car. The 328i is definitely being considered but I really like the sound and look of the new IS.
You can't go on what Lexus says honestly. Lexus also claims their hybrid CT is cross-shopped with the RWD BMW 1-Series, while one person might do this, the majority of 1-Series shoppers would not cross shop the Lexus. Similarly according to 3rd party studies, the RX is not cross shopped with the X5 or ML.
We are working on getting one now. They have just started rolling to dealers so it shouldn't be too long yet. Have you seen our take on the pre-production model?
you have done great reviews for years; but I disagree on styling ... I find the cadillac horrid and the RX quite attractive; I also like the new RAV4 styling as well, but not quite as much as the RX.
Your right, the dashboard isn't that luxury looking. If Lexus would add single or even double stitching like how they did to the Toyota Camry 12' 13' or the Avalon 13' it would create an amazing dashboard.
I can say the 2013 Lexus RX350 non Fsport FWD is so much better than the Fsport... the ride in the FPOSRT is just horrible and the performance is no different -___- I do like that front bumper though
But really how many SUV buyers cares about tire width n limit grip even though it is a F Sport. They ar more likely to complain tires ar too expensive if Lexus decided to make them wider
Try finding any Cadillac or Lincoln that will still run like new at 250,000 miles. People that go with those LEASE them, because they know they'll start falling apart at 100,000 miles. If you're gonna BUY, you get a Lexus.
Is say go for the revised Volvo S60 R-Design. 0-60 is claimed by Volvo to be 5.2 sec (though they're always very conservative) for about 45K base price. Whearas the Lexus IS 350 F-Sport is much more expensive and significantly slower. Also, in my opinion, the S60 is simply the best looking of the bunch and the most stand-out because of the fact a car like that is so unexpected of Volvo.
I know, this is why I laugh when people say the press has an anti-American bias. I actually really like Cadillac's exterior designs lately. No accounting for taste, eh?
I find your reviews very informative & highly reliable. I have been considering to buy a new vehicle in the same segment. Could you recommend some cars to look for? Also I couldn't find a review on the 2014/2015 Cadillac SRX. Could you have that too please?
I'll see what I can do about the SRX. In this segment I would recommend looking at the Audi Q5, the Lincoln MKX, Volvo XC60, SRX and the RX. The RX is one of the larger options, it should be one of the lower costs to own but value wise the SRX and MKX really top the segment because you in general get more room and more features for the dollar.
RX needs to be compared to Audi Q5, BMW X3 and even the Chevy/GMC/Buick triplets. Lexus is a vehicle built to a price - The Rx has many signs of obvious cost cutting and I'm quite dissapointed you did not note them - cheap plastics, cheap plastic switches (especially the manual door locks which feel out of a Corolla, as everybody else has moved to automatic electric lock), hollow, light feeling doors (try shutting doors with windows down)
Your reviews may be too thorough. I find myself skipping though. I think the F-Sport does not work well for the RX. I prefer the styling of the MDX and Volvo over the RX.
wait WTF? did you just say CUE and MYFORDTOUCH are better? WTH??? -___- I've demo the CUE and the Myfordtouch and those are one of the worse interfaces I have ever seen.... it's laggy, slow, hiccups and a FINGERPRINT magnet...... please review the CUE system... thank you...
let me tell you that..i have driven rental cars..and they have ford explorers, edge and cadillac xrs available..in real world their system is sucks..touch senstivity..on both the vehicles is so bad that..it responds after 5 seconds...one time i was driving ford explorer..and was tryin to play music that screen shuts off loll
I'm sorry Alex, I don't think this design is elegant at all. Neither the Acura or Lexus are going to age well. Also, people cross shop not necessarily based on power train layout - the RX is absolutely cross shopped with other German SUVS. - ask Lexus yourself.
You can't beat lexus reliability and resale value. This is #1 on my list

Is the Lexus RX 350 F sport 2013-2015 with the 8 speed transmission reliable too or only the 6 speed?

The haptic feedback on the "mouse" thing is very nice. No issues.
Thanks for the input, we are always looking for ways to improve!

THE LEXUS RX IS MORE FUNCTIONAL, RELIABLE, AND STYLISH THAN ANY OTHER AMERICAN COMPETITORS...ENOUGH SAID
it’s japanese...
Ha Ha. The RX is made in Cambridge, Ontario!

It is a bit stiff for a Lexus, but compared to the sports packages on the competition it is softer.

Thanks for that, that is very useful feedback for us!
As always, most thorough review and very relevant. Two thumbs up.

"M" solo is, but "M-Sport" is BMW's "looks fast" package. They all have one, Audi calls it "S-Line" Volvo calls it "R-Design"'
Why does he say the Rx 350 comes as a fwd only vehicle @ 3:14?
Good point, we should have tossed in some MDX shots.
10 years later; 75% of the GM's and Volvos are in the junkyard and 90% of the Lexus's are still on the road.
That is so true
Alright. I will definitely look at all of those. Thanks for the reply!
Wow! When the video just started the RX looked very big for me hahaha.
I have a 2013 RX, it is nice.
We are working on getting one now. They have just started rolling to dealers so it shouldn't be too long yet. Have you seen our take on the pre-production model?
Very thorough and informative review.
Now ten years later who is glad they bought the Lexus? 😁
15:17 rides like a dream...

I can't believe you like the SRX styling, I think its one of the ugliest in the segment.
They discuss the Cadillac SRX? I haven't made it that far into the video yet.
How so? The XC60 is a direct competitor to the RX.
But really how many SUV buyers cares about tire width n limit grip even though it is a F Sport. They ar more likely to complain tires ar too expensive if Lexus decided to make them wider
The RX F Sport is not the first front wheel drive biased F sport from Lexus. The CT200h was the first one.
Try finding any Cadillac or Lincoln that will still run like new at 250,000 miles. People that go with those LEASE them, because they know they'll start falling apart at 100,000 miles. If you're gonna BUY, you get a Lexus.

Excellent job. Would you be open to writing your "ratings" in the description section? I think it would be of great benefit.
Thanks you provide great reviews.
Is the Lexus RX 350 F sport 2013-2015 with the 8 speed transmission reliable too or only the 6 speed?
Lexus should make a rxf with a v8
Or a TT 2GR 😲😲😲
That would be niceee
I find your reviews very informative & highly reliable. I have been considering to buy a new vehicle in the same segment. Could you recommend some cars to look for?

Alex on Autos the Lexus RX was completely redesigned in 2010 that generation went from 2010-2015
There is one near me for sale. 185k miles for $10k. Should i get it. Need to replace my older pilot i just got rid of.
M for BMW is much more then trim...it's a real performance package
weirdshibainu good
Around 5:44 you start talking about Volvo, huh!? WTF that was a tangent....
A fwd heavy ass suv is not suppose to be nimble and sporty. Plus, it will outlive any cadillac, Volvo, ford/lincoln, bmw, mercedes, audi.
Hi Alex I'm looking to buy the 2015 rx 350 are there a lot of differences between the 2014 & 2015 model. Is the f sport better than the regular rx 350
F sport looks better but gives worst handling and stopping power.
RX needs to be compared to Audi Q5, BMW X3 and even the Chevy/GMC/Buick triplets. NO SIR! the Caddy (GM) and Lincoln (FORD) are both shit!
I'll pass and keep me RX Craft Line! With less power, but I know it won't leave me stranded!
I don't care about cadi, lincoln and volvo none of them will out last the lexus
Your reviews may be too thorough. I find myself skipping though. I think the F-Sport does not work well for the RX. I prefer the styling of the MDX and Volvo over the RX.
None of them will last longer or reliable than the RX

Any chance you can make more videos about the 2014 IS350 F-Sport? I might lease one later this year and I can't seem to find more videos about it.
Ref Volvo China comparison is now owned

Cue & ford lags like sh8
