I think the reason JJ was pushing Kiara away is because he doesn’t feel like he deserves her at all.
The way that JJ and kie have that much chemistry with a single glance… i can’t. But you’re right he was definitely self sabotaging because he doesn’t think he has anything to offer her.
I really liked those Jiara scenes. Especially Kies "I do care" and "I'll help". That was heartbreaking
And personally, I immediately understood why JJ reacted the way he did. He sabotage himself. He doesn't think he's good enough for Kie and doesn't even know what it feels like to have someone take care of him exclusively.
What pisses me off more and more is Big John.
Jj is definitely self sabotaging because he thinks he doesn’t deserve kiara and has a lot of issues with people getting close to him I feel like and is scared of letting people in and tries to self sabotage, probably also acted like that because everyone’s gone home to their families and he’s gone back to no one but an eviction notice which is just another reason for him to think he’s not good enough or worthy of kiara
I agree that the writers didn’t really flesh out that first Jiara scene well enough! There are a lot of blanks that fans of this show have to fill in ourselves lol

I was not expecting Big John to pull out that gun and execute those two guys terminator style, it was both cool and a little terrifying to see Big John take those guys out so efficiently like that 😳😂🤣
