  • Welcome! After having many disappointing prints with the stock Eryone hot end, it was time to come up with a better solution. I purchased some Bondtech DDS's (Direct Drive System) a while back and thought these could be a fun upgrade project for the Eryone Thinker 3D Printers I have. The Bondtech DDS has since evolved into the DDX, which is a really great upgrade path.
In this video, you'll see the journey of me dismantling the stock setup and working out how to make the DDS work on the Thinker!
Coming up next time, getting the Firmware setup and first prints!

Solder Seal Wire Connection Kit I used (I still hook and wrap the wires around each other, then use these!)

Working on my E3D V6 upgrade today with dual 24v parts fans on my Eryone V2. You had mentioned moving the jumper to supply cooling fan with 24v. My jumper is labled 5v/24v/12v with the jumper on the 5v/24v posts. I Am assuming the jumper moved to the 24v/12v posts will supply the fans with the needed 24v?
I am also assuming you were using stock motherboard?

Yes you can search the Eryone forum to see a board layout. Leave the board fan on place thou, that’s on its own 5V source. Also of you are using a Bondtech make sure you adjust the e0 stepper driver. Remember you need to do some math for 2208 drivers

Happy to inspire you! I’m really liking the Revo Six so I can change nozzles out quickly

Great video, can you include some links to buy the kit you used?

Hello! I had the parts left over and I know the DDS is no longer available. If I did this all over again, I would buy the Bondtech DDX for CR-10S. The DDS doesn't have a lot of clearance at the bottom to see what's going on while the DDX is much better. Start with that (www.bondtech.se/product/bondtech-ddx-v3-for-creality-ender-cr-10s/) and scroll down to "The 4 PHases of DDX" If it were me, I would go PH3 with the full Copperhead or Mosquito. (Probably Mosquito since it's so easy to change nozzles out with!) You would need a CR-10/Ender carriage (www.tinymachines3d.com/products/creality-x-carriage) and then you're off. The real challenge, which is where I am stuck, would be the firmware. I don't have that creative gene and am relying on someone to give me a hand with that! I hope this helps? Let me know !
