The dark SIDE? The industry is ALL dark. Musicians, just write your music and leave the industry to implode on itself.

It's the Dark Side of the Craft of the God of Forces, so that the Dark Side represents Black Magic, and the Light Side represents White Magic, and the Priests of This Craft are Those Who Know, and who value Gnosis over Pistis: who value Knowledge over Faith, and the Forbidden Fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil over the Salvific Fruit of the Tree of Life.
It is the Circle of Death, the Center of which is none other than the Kosmokratoros himself, the Ruler and Prince of this World, who is to be worshipped as Hêlêl ben Šāḥar/Lucifer the Son of the Dawn by the White Magicians, and Ha-Śāṭān/Satan by the Black Magicians.
Once you enter this Circle, you can rarely easily escape therefrom.
The more towards the Center Boiler Room you go, the further from the upper deck of the Titanic and from the lifeboats you end up.
The only way to break the Circle of Death is to Cross the Streams of the Four Elements of Life - Earth, Wind, Fire, and Water - and to meet within the crossroads of those Four Streams - as if at the confluence of the Pishon/Nile, Gihon/Ganges, Tigris, and Euphrates Rivers - to find oneself in the Garden of Eden and at the Foot of the Tree of Life, at the Place of the Skull at Gol'gotha, at the Locational Stasis of the Fifth Element Itself, so to speak, as the Precious Blood of the Master thenceforth flows down from His Precious Wounds onto the Skull of Adam Our Forefather, whose final resting place was at the Footstool of the Word and Son of God on that fateful day of the 14th of the Month of Nisan some 1,982 years ago; and every work of the God of Forces and of the Dark Lord of Death is now thus annihilated by the Ultimate Cry of Command of the King of Glory on the Death-Destroying Instrumental Weapon of the Cross, uttered nearly immediately prior to giving up the Ghost at the Hour of Sacrifice:
      "It Is Finished."
      Cross the Streams,
Escape the Vicious Circle of Death,
      Break on Through to the Other Side;
And aim for the Flattop, for God's sake.

Nobody in the music industry is like me, living around the world on my own since childhood even artists musicians are poor dumb people, no wonder their works are low vibration.
music + concerts/bars/shows + alcohol (even worst; drugs) = bad energy, low vibe negative energy
I know someone having studio since 1998 and make almost nothing but only attention (narcissistic mentality just like the mother) even up today cannot afford to buy ahouse but only renting, was homeless too, broke like totally broke, even when there was money it's gone for excessive spending without calculation.
that's why day by day there are many smart artists are independent and having their own label.
stock trade and investment is the safest form of income, as everyone needs to eat and drink but you don't need music nor concert to find your inner self peace and joy. in fact those music is negative reflections of other people not belong to you and messing your positive energy becomes negative

Exactly. Take the DIY approach to your music like the essence of Punk Rock music. Stay independent, promote yourself, make your own merchandise, work locally to book shows, upload your own music. Work with other truly independent producers, artist, distributors etc. Work with a collective of people but stay away from the labels. It's even easier than ever to be an independent band, musician, rapper due to the internet. And if you're doing music simply to make money then you're in it for all the wrong reasons

Well yea it gets rejected. Most music today isn't any good. Pop, rock, rap, country, you name it- most of it is terrible. I don't blame people at all. I remember seeing American Idol, and so many of those kids wanted to be stars when they couldn't sing. I get that most singers/musicians weren't on American Idol, but the same thing applies. They want to be big stars when they don't provide any entertainment.

Braden is such an answer mentor. Just his chilled voice immediately puts you in a comfortable zone to focus and absorb. He is the Yoda of the music world.
(Just my opinion) To want fame is such a bad goal. Be careful what you wish for.
Respect for my music among my peers is priceless. Fame is simply a fickle mistress that means what? People are 'famous' today for just being on a reality tv show.
Imagine being respect by other musicians and fans for your art!! And if you get financial rewards from this, then great but if you are trying to write to simply appease the masses in a quest for fame, that seems sad.
How cool would it be to be Bernie and NOT Elton John. Fame can be a price of success. Imagine having cameras poking at you when you take your child to the park, attend a funeral. Who really wants that type of attention.
Please keep these videos coming Branden.
Stay safe, from across the pond in little old raining England.

So when the door maybe opens for you....you blow them away and you don't just sign cause your hungry. then your life is broken, your spirit broken and your broke hungry.

Gotta be honest, these are all spot on. I've worked in the music industry my whole adult life and I'm almost 40 hahaha. I started as a session/touring drummer and now I am a full-time mixing and mastering engineer. People should take these tips seriously. If anything you are downplaying it a bit. It's a harsh and crazy business. So many hands are in the pot and the market is so oversaturated it's just how things go. To make matters worse music has been almost completely devalued anymore but that's another story for another time.

"Drunk driving", "entourage gone" and "you need to know whom to trust"? Do you believe I would put trust as a booker or manager in any artist who risks his career and other lives even? I worked as a talent scout and manager for independent artists and I can tell you, that most of the musicians have no clue how to make some income with their work, and I didn't earn much. Not every supportive agent is a gangsta and not every artist an angel. It depends on the right chemistry and trust is something both sides have to work on. Then, you are prepared to face the industry, labels, publishers and media.

If I were to consider it, it would be as a manager, producer, label etc. So glad I haven't thought about this and haven't signed or been asked to sign or looked to sign any form of agency contract/s within this industry. I've always heard it's best to go independent anyway.
Not my business area at all tbh. Not being rude but I never understood the want for so many people to go into the music industry when there are so many other areas of life that one could consider going into and I can sing.

I actually worked at a studio for a while...Artists would look at me like I was crazy when I said, you have to pay for this interview there or you have to pay for these ads ect. You can either pay me for this once or pay me royalties per song I help you push out there. The ones who paid based on exposure did much better. I only had 1 out of 14 who blew up without paying for anything but studio time. That was only because the producer blew up through working with a different popular artist. 3 out of the 14 actually "made it" over 100k listeners on Spotify per month which I call "making it" lol.

I don't listen to mainstream anything really... I would rather listen to what the artist actually wants to put out.
If you are decent and show you have talent, I will pay attention to see if what you produce gets better.
There is a lot of good stuff out there these days.
If you are tryin to rap ... I would say to have a good flow, make a track about something relatable or something everyone is thinking but nobody is saying anything about. Look at current events or what is trending.
Don't sign anything, don't take a drink from anyone and don't put yourself in shady situations.

This is WHY I respect artists like Ani Difranco so much. She started her on record label and controls her music HER way. Do as much as you can yourself, and then hire help (if necessary) YOURSELF. Remember, a record company will charge you for EVERYTHING under the sun. They will give you NOTHING "for free". Never accept an attorney that a record company "finds" for you. Hire people (if necessary) YOURSELF. This is why I HATE those singing discovery t.v. shows (talk about predators). If you have true talent, make your own way.

This is 100% facts and very well said.
In today's market it is easier for an artist to just do it themselves.
I have a one man black metal band and purchased a studio for 500 bucks and am going to use Distro Kid and release the albums myself in band camp .
My marketing scheme isn't thought out all the way but one has to do things that can get their name out .
I do not want fame just to be heard by select few and have fun .
If the fun is gone I don't want to do it.
    Great video.

I'm not necessarily trying to get rich, of course I would love that but I really just want to share my gift..whatever it is I create. I have a business that supports me so I never stayed in situations that would have made me compromise myself.i could go on but I don't want to bore you. I' m glad however that i stumbled on to your show And I feel blessed to hear some of the harsh truth about the industry. Thank you and GOD bless all your endeavors.

If you differentiate between music as an industry and music as a trade, I would not want to be a part of the music industry. Music as a trade (the countless people that are local or regional, teacher, music store owners, etc) includes many people that are making a decent living either doing music full time or as a sideline. These people are not interested in being famous and are not seeking after it. It helps to be more of an entrepreneur that just so happens to do music. Don’t do it for the fame. It is not worth it. Just be a normal person who happens to do music and supports your local community by adding to its culture by providing music. Music is a good thing. It increases IQ in children who take lessons. Stroke victims are encouraged to lock up music as a hobby. Entertainment brings joy to people who have been working hard all week. Again, be more entrepreneurial than musician.

What you said was great and right on point. Thanks for that. I enjoy music just as a local. The freedom to just do your thang is great. I love singing and making music. Though I don’t make a lot of money doing it I am happy doing it. I would like to be part of an up and coming artist that is pursuing music and help them in a variety of ways for my taste of the music business was not a good taste. I appreciate being the type of artist that o am. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. What I do love is some of the doors that open for you when you share your gift. God is your support. The devil lurks around music. The vibes and the creativity is magic even without it making big money. You have truly encouraged me to carry on. Thank you so much. I shall continue to listen to your insight. Because there are so many roads that you can take in music. Love the lane that works for you. Peace love and blessings

And will your marketing course help me to achieve that? Thank you so much . It’s good to see you again. Already looking forward to your next video.

Music is not unessential. Music is one of the most spiritual elements of mankind, and one of the most primitive natural forms of expression. Try putting together a movie without music, not gonna happen. There's always opportunities in music, you just have to find your own path to success.
