에픽하이의 타블로가 작사•작곡에 참여하고 총 프로듀싱을 맡은 곡으로, 윤하가 지난 11월 악동뮤지션 이찬혁이 프로듀서로 참여한 ‘널 생각해 (Prod. by 이찬혁 of 악동뮤지션)’ 이후 한 달 만에 선보이는 신곡이다.
‘허세(Prod. by 타블로)’는 혹시라도 헤어진 연인이 자신의 SNS를 확인할지도 모른다는 생각에 포장된 일상을 포스팅하는 한 사람의 안타까운 사연을 묘사하고 있다.
'허세다', '오그라든다'... 이렇게 쉽게 비웃음의 대상이 되는 SNS 사진들이나 글들 속에 때론 누군가의 소중한 감정이 있지 않을까라고 묻는 위로의 곡이다. SNS를 사용하는 사람이라면 한 번쯤 공감할 만한 내용의 가사와 윤하의 애절하면서도 청아한 음색의 시너지가 곡의 매력을 극대화한다.

혹시 손원평 작가의 ‘서른의 반격’ 이라는 책을 읽어보셨나요? 책을 읽다보면 ‘아 이 소설의 주인공이 윤하의 Rescue 앨범을 폰에 넣고 지하철 타고 다니면서 많이 들었겠구나’ 하는 생각이 들었어요. 윤하는 현재의 20-30대의 감성을 너무나 잘 노래하는 가수인 것 같아요.

I have never been very interested in the 'girl' group singers but this happened to play when I wasn't paying attention - Younha's voice is haunting in this song - now I am a fan of hers. This song REALLY suits her voice - I am hooked on it.
