I watched this match as a 12 years old kid. Those were the days where cricket could give us the maximum entertainment. ODI cricket felt like ODI cricket. Now a days players are trying to bash every ball they face. In early 2010s England wasn't a powerful team just like now. But Sri Lanka and Australia were powerhouses in every format. So literally I supported these two teams as long as they don't play against my country. It's sad to see what happened to them. Australia is lil bit ok. But Sri Lanka ain't.

Sri Lanka had enough balls to waste and what Mathews did was correct. He wanted Chandimal to get a Century in Lords. Some English players didn't want that as it shows on their figures. Mathews knew exactly what he was doing, his judgement was on point, he knew the game wasn't in jeopardy and it says a lot about a player if he trusts the other team mates and their ability. I love our team, they are all heroes but Malinga and Dilshan both demonstrated poor character in my eyes here. Because that match should have been postponed with the amount of rain occured that day, but ICC and Australia were determined that Australia should win so they insisted the match get played with very poor conditions.

Infact that is not even allowed which is why they always have to come in with something like gloves or drinks or something. But when they just give the message and leave, then I've seen opposition players complain to the Umpire that it was just a message, no gloves were changed or no drinks were taken.
