Dude I was amazed by that too!!!!!! I've encountered a lot of enemies who will swap to Sombra to counter me and will EMP every blizz, it feels great having this new trick up my sleeve now :)

man. I think out of every video of any individual character, this one taught me the most. I didn't even think of doing half that with mei... usually I just use her to wall off good widows and ashe's so we can ignore them. Smart man.

How does protecting blizzard from EMP with wall work? Does snowball get raised on ice wall or? Or do you block snowball’s LOS from emp with wall?
No Snowball basically gets encased in the ice wall, for Sombra to emp and cancel your ult she has to hit Snowball but since he is encased and out of Line of sight it doesn't get affected by her

I've been playing Overwatch for about two months now and Mei is my favorite character and when I play with my friends they always tell me how bad I am with her even though I get at least 8k damage and get kills every game, hope watching this helps me get better so I can shut them up, I'm not bad for a newer player.

it's mostly just having a feel for enemy ult economy so you know it's coming soon, then you see her and you can tell something is off about her movement and rather than playing aggro she's kinda side strafing looking for a straight shot ult. You sorta keep your wall ready sometimes even preloading it so you can snap it down the moment you hear the audio.

@@milkmilk1489 honestly sometimes i just pre-wall out of pure instinct, like trying to counter rein shatter. I cant counter shatter directly but a lot of times I just throw down a wall as a pure gamble and I block it and look like a god. You can try doing that sometimes vs queen. Obviously you look kinda silly when nothing happens but it's still somewhat effective blocking her LOS thus disrupting her plans. By the time wall comes down your team may have dispersed and she'll once again be looking for a prime spot.
A trick for making sure you are ready is to keep track of the amount of damage the tank is dealing. That way you know when they will have ultimate. Exact numbers are not needed, just roughly 1500-1600 damage is usually around ultimate range for Rein or Queen.
Hey, do you have any tips for canceling mercy Rez with wall? is it just something I have to try a lot to get the hang of? I’m a console player so I feel like I also have a harder time aiming my wall. If anyone has tips I’d appreciate it so much! :>
well make sure you invert your wall that way you can clearly see the outline of where it's going. Then the moment you see the soul glowing you just throw it down, should be pretty easy honestly.
Two primary things to take note of when trying to cancel a mercy res.
The first is that the position of the mercy is important, since if it is on completely flat ground and the res is directly next to the mercy the res range limit is not reached. If they are however trying to max range it from cover or res from below the res target, you can cancel it.
The second is to double tap your wall first, when you have the wall straight ahead it is much easier to gauge the distance since that is where the miscalculations tend to happen the most. Especially if you are trying to do it quickly as a reaction instead of a planned action.
Secret third thing, when a mercy is using their ultimate they tend to be flying above the ground so it will be rare to cancel res since their positioning tends to be higher up. If the mercy is however trying to do a drop down res it can still work. (a res where the target is on a ledge and the mercy flies under it using valk to break los safely)
@@rngsmiles3979 yeah basically youre going to miss a lot even when it looks like you blocked it because thats just the nature of the game. It's really more like a pleasant surprise when you cancel it because you hit it on a slope or stairs or some ledge that mercy tried to drop behind mid-res.

@@angelcake7077 The exact interaction and why it cancels is because the wall lifts the res target (their soul) outside the range of the res. It's similar to booping a mercy away from the rest target with some other cc. However due to how the distance is calculated, the height of the wall is not enough to place the rest target out of range. So unless the mercy is trying to do so at a distance or at a lower angle the wall will not lift the res target's soul out of range. Sorry if I explain the same thing multiple time, I find different wording can help with understanding the concept more clearly.
