I loved when you talked about timezones. That has really interested me in the past few weeks. Especially how the times also can change because we have decided to move our clocks forward 1 hour or back 1 hour twice a year. It really messes it up for a bit 😅 Love the videos!
Awesome video - found some of the population and time zone stuff in particular fascinating! Always a super relaxing voice too. One of the best out there my friend. Keep it up!
China theoretically spans five time zones, but the entire country officially uses Beijing Time (UTC+8) as its standard. This decision was made in 1949, shortly after the founding of the People's Republic of China, to promote national unity and administrative efficiency. Interestingly, while it’s called "Beijing Time," it actually aligns closely with Xi’an's local time, which is closer to China’s geographical center. For instance, I lived in Xinjiang for a while, where life operates on a slightly different rhythm to accommodate the time difference. In western regions like Xinjiang, locals might wake up around 10:00 AM and go to bed at 11:00 PM, as this schedule aligns more naturally with the daylight hours. By contrast, in eastern regions such as Heilongjiang, people often begin their day as early as 5:00 AM due to the earlier sunrise.❤
7:30 Here in the US we actually share the same time zones as Canada, so eastern time stretches from south of Florida up through Canada and same with the others
Thank you for the beautiful content. Listening to your voice helps me a lot to leave the stress of everyday life behind me. Thanks to you, I no longer need medication to fall asleep. My sleep is deep and soothing. I feel like a human being again for a long time. Thank you very much.
At 19:20 ish when you started talking about the largest lakes you mentioned a bunch of them were in Africa when they are in North America. Went back and you corrected the Great Lakes but Great Bear and Great Slave are Canadian. We have a lot of lakes here lol
Chile actually has several time zones. Easter Island of course has a different one, but also Magallanes (the southernmost region, near Antarctica) doesn't change in winter with the daylight savings. Meaning just now, they're in -3 whilst the rest of Chile is at -4. That's because they naturally have way less day light than the rest of the country
I am not the first😢 I love the video!!! And I acctually think I can chill here on this channel because no one in my school acctually knows and understands Geography/History. Keep up the good work!!👏🏻👏🏻
18:40 It doesn't actually snow that much either. Don't get me wrong, it does snow, but in the same way it sometimes still rains here and there in most deserts
Great video as always! Just a note though is that you said Lake Superior is in Africa, while it is actually in North America. It’s the biggest of the Great Lakes.
4:40 Nepal has a +5:45 timezone, and I cant figure out the reason why 7:10 It's one big label showing that the name "mountain time" refers to the whole block in Canada and the US 7:50 Brazil has 4 time zones, you missed Acre time, and the Fernando de Noronha Archipelago has its own time zone 11:00 Technically, Kaliningrad had a +2 time as well 12:00 There's a tiny stretch of the highway between Western and Southern Australia near the town of Eucla which uses +8:45 time zone
Hi, I'm making a schoolstory about Wales and a possible name change to 'Cymru'. Is there any way I can get in touch with you? You must be an expert on this story. Cheers!
I don't actually know that much about it. You would be better Googling it. All I can say is that "Wales" is the Germanic word for "Non Germanic speaking people" and was used about any Celtic tribe by the Germanic tribes, including groups in Switzerland, France and Belgium. We don't like it for that reason. Wales in Welsh is "Cymru", so we want to be known as that instead. Czechia, Turkiye, Euskadi and Cote d'Ivoire have all done this recently, so there is a precedent. Hope that helps!
16:15 My guy, it literally says it's in Yukon right there. Why would you guess it's in Alaska if it says Yukon? My only guess is maybe you didn't know what Yukon was, but even still Alaska is a US State, and everywhere else they're being addressed on the country level. Yukon would have to be a second level administrative division (and there is technically one with a similar name in Alaska but thats irrelevant), so that would be an extreme deviation from the standard already set. Yukon is a territory in CANADA I'm sorry for getting so upset, but the book has literally given you information you're choosing to ignore and that irks me
New-found-land ....no pronounce it Newf-in-laand , honestly you almost have to put an Irish accent on it, if you've had the opportunity to visit both you can hear the similarities, it's quite surprising
Great video! A facts video for each of the longest rivers and stopping at major cities would be awesome! That’s like 5 video series!
Ooooh yes I love this
The U.S. has six time zones - Eastern time, Central time, Mountain time, Pacific time, Alaska time, and Hawaii-Aleutian time.
The intonations and cadence are perfect. Do this more often. And I love falling asleep to this. It is my favorite to help me sleep
Thx Colin!

They've been discussing stopping the daylight saving time change for years. I hate it! 😅

Yeah I agree. It can get so confusing 😅
I just love this channel, geography being one of my interests and teaching it through ASMR making it such a calm and pleasent "lesson" so to speak!
As a fellow geographer, isn’t it funny how we have to clarify “yes it’s round” when we talk about the earths shape 🤣

would be amazinggg to have another "cool/fun/etc maps for 3am" video cause those were not only super interesting but also superrr relaxing

That is crazy to me! It was done to promote unity but makes life a little awkward for everyone else :(

The first time zone of Russia is in Kaliningrad, +2. So there are 11 time zones in that country
Ah, I forgot Kaliningrad!!

Also Great Slave Lake I think is in Canada? Unless there's another lake with a similar name.

Where did you get the book from, it looks like a good book
Philip's World Atlas was from Amazon :D
Can you do a video on some of the smaller states like Connecticut or Delaware in an upcoming video?
20:56 Baffin Island is in Canada
we want a history channel
12:35 United States has six (6) time zones, not four (4).
Whoops! Thanks for the info!!
Yes it is ✨😁
На данный момент в России 11 часовых поясов. Ты немного забыл про Калининград. Но все равно спасибо за интересное и уютное видео) ❤

You forgot about Kaliningrad. Another time zone in Russia.
Sorry!
Why Australia isnt among largest islands?
I wondered this once and the answer was that it is considered a continent by itself, so it's not considered an island.
@@WelshASMR82Maps And funny thing is although it's bigger than Greenland, Greenland is always shown bigger
Baffin Island is in Canada
No Moldova on the map😔
weird bc they put western sahara which is an unrecognized country
