Amorphis has been around for decades. They have many great songs to listen. Similiar song to this one would be 'The Smoke'. One song you both might like could be 'Amongst Stars' with guest vocals by Anneke van Giersbergen.
What I love about this video is that it's shot in *actual* winter and they are wearing actual winter clothes. Something people to whom being outside in weather like that is just Wednesday.
The common mistake people from warmer climates often do is to put on a puffy jacket but wear no cap or gloves. They did it correctly here, the other way round.
Head and hands have lot of blood circulation and they are thus big sources of loss of heat if left uncovered.
Thank you for watching with us and for sharing this cool information.
"Black Winter Day" is an Amorphis classic. The official video is from 16 years ago and unfortunatelly has a very bad video quality, so you may have to check out a live performance, like the one from Wacken 2015, although this one imho doesnt have a good sound.
Please react to skyforger, summers end, forever more, shatters within and battle for light they are my favorite songs and one of the best ones🙏
Thank you for all of these recommendations. We have added them to our list.
Do amorphis towards and against live at Oulu forging the lands of a thousand lakes
I enjoyed your reaction. I usually prefer this song without the video, so I can concentrate on the words instead of thinking how cold they look. In consequence, I never noticed the bodies under the ice until now! It's appropriate since they're singing about the Finnish afterlife/underworld, which I've seen depicted as a frozen lake.
Thank you for watching and for sharing this additional information.
Thanks for entertaining me with this band from my home country Finland. This is one of the many songs based on our national epic called "Kalevala", which is a collection of poems, some of which are over 3000 years old. The "Kalevala" was instrumental in the development of the Finnish national identity and the intensification of Finland's language strife that ultimately led to Finland's independence from Russia in 1917. The work is also well known internationally and has partly influenced, for example, J. R. R. Tolkien's legendarium (i.e. Middle-earth mythology).
I'm also glad that one of you liked the song & the other one liked the video & clean vocals.
Thank you for watching and sharing all this important information.
