He was getting passed around by some of the male gods also since he had a androgynous approach. The moment they found him he was trapped. In other version the reason Persephone was in love with him was because she was his foster mother and Aphrodite who cursed his mom found him as a baby and eventually came back to see how he grown and then fell for him.

In a version of this story, Aphrodite finds orphaned baby Adonis and gives him to Persephone to be raised in the Underworld. He grows up being super hot and Aphrodite is like “Can I keep him?” and Persephone is like “Here to the nah!” That’s basically it. I like that version better because it’s unique for a mortal to be raised in the Underworld.
Edit: recently found out that this version is older than the one in the video.

    A headcanon on Hades's and Persephone's relationship:
At first, Hades kept his actual appearance of a much older God married to his much younger niece. But after Persephone fell in love with Adonis, Hades became insecure about his form thinking that Persephone wouldn't love him as he is, so he took on a younger look closer to that of Adonis and started to act closer to his wife's age hoping that would win her back over.

I headcanon that he meets Mynthe or the other girl after this, but nothing happened as it felt more like heartfelt platonic romance compare to Zeus' and Poseidon's shenanigans
However, the girls still eventually turn into plants by Persephone and one of them got stomped by her multiple times

    • @nathanielmartins5930
      @nathanielmartins5930 2 роки тому +72

      @@Duck-zf5pb
My headcanon is that it was a moment of weakness on Hades's part, given that he was meeting an old lover of his, but he quickly came back to his senses as his love was now for Persephone. And simultaneously Persephone was swooning over Adonis behind Hades's Back. After the whole Adonis thing, Hades approached Persephone to tell her about what almost happened between him and Mynthe, taking pride in his loyalty and devotion to her, how he managed stay strong in the face of Mynthe's seduction however close she got to seizing him, and that is when Persephone confessed about what had been going on between her, Aphrodite and Adonis. Hades just embraced her, both laughing off the coincidence of how both of them were going through similar situations at the same time. But inside, what Persephone said almost broke Hades, in face of seduction, he stayed devoted to her, while she in face of a mere mortal that was happily spending his days with Aphrodite, she went on his pursuit.
That is when the thought that his devotion to Persephone might just not be enough after all to keep her happy started to seep into his mind, and it was what pushed him to change his attitudes and appearance to be closer to Adonis.

I love Greek myths. Even the gods are helpless to fight their own inner lusts and passions. Imagine gods who are all powerful, but not all good. Sometimes, you can make a case that the Greek gods better mirrored reality than any other Western religion. Sometimes it's very hard to believe that an all loving God is running the Universe. Christians spend much of their time "apologizing" for God the Father when compared to his running of things. The Greeks didn't have to. They accepted the wild, irrational nature of life as a given.

    Greek Mythology Headcanon:
This story takes place around the same time Hades cheats on Persephone with Minthe. Minthe sees Eros hit Persephone with his arrow then later sees Ares scheme about killing Adonis. She makes the conclusion that if Persephone would get with Adonis in the underworld, she would get Hades all to herself (as she had the hots for him). Once Adonis reaches the underworld and Persephone started getting “friendly” with him, Minthe made her move on Hades and seducted him into sleeping with him. When Aphrodite arrives in the underworld she and Persephone get into a fight over Adonis, Persephone briefly leaves to get a drink (she has Kerberos make sure the Goddess of Love didn’t run off with “Prince Charming”) only to find her husband balls-deep in the nymph. The Queen of the underworld is so enraged by this, she turns Minthe into her name but without the “he”. Hades admits that Minthe came onto him and starts tearing up as he says “I know somewhere deep down in your heart, you still love me”. Persephone then starts crying as the two embrace and she admits about what she was doing with Adonis. Hades isn’t angry with Persephone just disappointed. The two work out what to do with Adonis, but by the time they were ready to present their comprise, Aphrodite had distracted Kerberos and ran off with Adonis. The monarchs of the dead eventually catch-up to Aphrodite and Adonis and go to Olympus to work things out. Aphrodite then recalls the time she accidentally got pierced by Eros’ arrows. Eros is punished by being forced to carry round all of Artemis’ hunting and Apollo’s music gear. Hades suggests that “when Persephone leaves him she takes Adonis with her” Zeus and the others start piecing everything together and we get the eventual compromise as in the story. But Persephone now knows that Eros made her fall in love with Adonis, so she makes a full commitment to Hades and whilst she’s in the underworld Adonis becomes Persephone’s private servant (he also sometimes helps Charon ferry the dead across the Styx during particularly bad winters)
Because hey! Might as well make Persephone just as committed to the relationship as Hades is to her. (Hades lets Persephone be herself as she has and a relationship with her mother similar to Isabela and Abuela Alma from Encanto)

LOL so many people can’t handle the idea that Persephone had an affair so they make up things like “But it wasn’t her fault, it was Eros’ arrow!” I don’t know where this video got that idea from, but it certainly didn’t get it from Greek mythology.

they did miss the part where Aphrodite finds Adonis as a baby inside a tree and then entrustes him to Persephone. I've never heard the version where Aphrodite fell in love with him as an adult.

WAIT a minute!! Persephone? As in Hades' WIFE Persephone?!? How did I never learn of THIS version?!? BTW Interesting Fact; it's been theorized that this is the origin of the Erymanthian Boar

The typical version is that Persephone serves as a mother figure to Adonis and Persephone as a lover. It’s similar to how Demeter and Persephone relationship was in which they only meet at certain times.

      Poseidon had Pelops and Nerites.
Why should Hades not have Adonis 🤔

And technically as Aphrodite came from the sea foam of Ouranos's (Hades' grandfather) severed testicles, she is more like Persephone's great-aunt...so yeah, you're being fought over by your adopted mother and her grand aunt. A really, really, *REALLY* hot grand-aunt.
