Some small tips, you can equip the two handed weapon and the club/shield both in slots 1 and 2 in the inventory and even bind skills to only use one of the inventory slots. Also strength with give both melee damage as well as max hp so it's good for both taking and dealing damage.
Also some Bada&# stuff later on, there's a timed block on your class that works like a ~parry~ that launches magma and gives you temporary damage resistance. Some awesome big smash attacks and plenty of awesome boss fights and end game content.
Strength doesn't give melee damage anymore, that's only in PoE1. Strength allows you to equip armor gear, higher level maces, and use higher level strength gems. It also still gives you max hp.

Welcome fellow Exile! A few tips: there are sidequests in several maps indicated with lit up icons in the world map. Some of those give good permabonuses. Don't ever change gear, skills or buttons right before you log out for the night, or before boss fights. You may think you got a better piece of gear but there may be a suffix on the other one that helped you out more than you knew, and then you have no idea why you're dying all the time. If you discover that something is better than what you're currently rocking, take some time to practice the button order. Prepare for a sudden drop of rolling slam's effectiveness around lvl 15. If you want to use stun a lot, work towards a few nodes before then.
Ive been addicted to this game the last week. Finally managed to finish the campaign last night, now I have to go through it on Cruel mode. This game definitely filled the loot shaped hole in my heart that Destiny left.
Whilst I dont like backseat gaming my advice is to do the locations in order of level that way you won't die as much and can have an easier time progressing through/follow the story. Hope to see more gameplay of this. Even if its only Act 1 but I would love to see full gameplay on Mr Fruit uncut or something

I'm only halfway through the video so it might be irrelevant. However, you can use WASD to control your character. As an ARPG noob, that might be a better control scheme for you.
I'm having a blast with it. Such a great game. Though my monk struggled more than you seemed to as I talked up a lot of deaths. Blame the player though, I suck and I'm stubborn.
Not really if you want some help putting a build together you just have to think a bit and your resistance matter sooooo much in this game. I hope you give it another shot it is genuinely so fun once you get a build going. Very little experience in poe1 like maybe 20 hrs. And I’ve gone through and built 99% of my build myself you got this man!

I just hope they find a better way to handle the map. the first game turned into HUD management nightmare simulator sprinting around with the transparent map over the whole screen just so you could see a meaningful distance away from you..
