Apples and oranges, man. ABBA never wrote a song like "Strawberry Fields Forever" and the Beatles never wrote a song like "Dancing Queen". Neither one was better than the other. They're BOTH great, classic bands that will live forever.
We all know ABBA were very popular worldwide but they were Absolutely Idolised in The UK. I lived there during their active years and all I remember was hit after hit after hit, it just kept going. Happy times and happy memories. The world doesn't seem as warm & friendly nowadays without them.
Just the fact that everyone knew the words without even thinking proves how great ABBA are. Whether you like them or not, you probably know a lot of their lyrics off by heart.
No matter what race, creed, colour or where we come from I think i'm right in saying we all are proud of ABBA for what they have achieved & we just love you Swedes in general.
Jonathan Ros at his appauling lame best at interviewing one of the greatest musicians of our era. No wonder Benny dismissed him with the contempt he deserved.
