I ran into one of these things while scuba diving off the Korean Peninsula with a group. Not gonna lie it scared me to death when I felt how strong it was. It's not a normal strong either it doesn't feel like muscles pulling you more like mechanical tethers or something. Interesting experience that I'll never forget.
They are smart, they like to play. They have 8 brains. They are weird because they have a certain part of their dna that’s not related to any animal on earth, unlike any other animal. They aren’t aggressive and can sense when something is dangerous near them.
You've got quite the screen name
I also kissed a great white, something I’ll never forget
It was probably curious and wanted to get a closer look
Ever hear about the giant octopus that hung out by an oil rig and killed sharks for fun? These things are *strong.*
“An octopus will turn red when annoyed.” Mood.
I never thought I would relate more to an octous in my life😂
Don’t we all…?!
@@lindseyaliceford Squidward Tentacles gets annoyed because of spongebob and patrick😂😂😂
@Lindsey Alíce Ford Squidward Tentacles species are giant Pacific octopus and they can be found in the Sea of Japan and Korean Peninsula the Sea of Incheon Korea
Only 3-5 years? That's crazy.
There isn't a direct equivalent of the Kraken in Pacific Northwest Native American mythology, but there are some creatures that share similar characteristics. For example, in the mythology of the Haida people, there is a sea monster known as the Gagiid. The Gagiid is described as a giant octopus or squid with tentacles that can reach up to 40 feet long. It is said to dwell in the deep ocean and can be dangerous to humans if provoked. The Gagiid is often depicted in Haida art, and there are many stories and legends associated with this creature.
There's also the Lusca!
It's too bad they die when their young hatch. With how smart these things are just imagine if they could pass down information to their young?
They die from the starvation of them starving themself until the eggs hatch them they bite the dust I wonder if they cna live longer if you feed them when their chillin
Evolution will take care of that. They could potentially evolve monogamy and both parents would guard their eggs in shifts and live longer. Also breeding earlier in life.
@@anon9579 I’m not sure evolution will take care of that. This is the arrangement that has evolved because it is what nature has selected. 🤷🏼♂️
This is probably why they don't rule the Earth. A two-year-old octopus has many of the problem-solving skills of an adolescent human. If they lived 60 years and had some way of passing down non-instinctual knowledge to their offspring (i.e. language), they would probably have spaceships by now.
@@funktionwebweb6735 but then they would enslave all humans and we would have to work for them. probably not so bad as human slavery, they seem nice. they probably just make us fish for them
YEEEEES!!!! THE GIANT PACIFIC OCTOPUS!!!!!!!!!! MY FAVORITE CEPHALOPOD!!! Homegirl, pulling through with another HOT video!!
ME TOO!!!!
Mine is the giant squid
Mine is prob a tie between the colossal and vampire squids :)
me too!
yummmmmm
Just like the Giant octopus from Peter Pan 2: Return to Neverland.
Your videos are perfect for getting stoned and learning about nature. I appreciate your hard work!! Thank you so much
Lmao I just took a hit and stumbled upon this and this comment is gold rn
RIGHT 😂🤣😂🤣
I’m curious, if hunting occurs at night, but they can dwell at depths of up to 2500 feet, does that mean there’s light down there? Or do they have some type of internal clock?
Really good question. They probably have circadian clocks, but to what extent they work I'm not sure.
Was thinking the same
I didn't think the otters would hunt them, but otters are pretty badass
I love the ocean and this is my favourite creature
Mine too.
Here because of Seattle Kraken. :)
Samezies
Me to
The Giant Pacific Octopus is the largest species of octopus species in world. They are easily identified by their size and their eight arms. They are the most smartest of all octopus species🐙
You don't say!

Woah I think I was the 70,000th view, congrats for the cool video! 😁
Great info!!!Thanx.
Thanks fam
thank you for the video. really informative. i love octupuses? octopie? the plural for octopus now.
Octopi
It's octopuses (though I prefer octopi it doesn't follow English Grammer so it was changed from octopi to octopuses)
Hi squidward
Giant Pacific Octopuses are the cutest creatures
Their tiny cousins the Blue Ring Octopus is just as cute but 10 times more deadly. It has enough neurotoxin to kill you quickly.
Beautiful 🤩
Good video
Can't imagine an octopus running away from a sea otter 😂😂
I actually was thinking the same thing, I can't imagine an otter catching one. They must eat them when the octopus is young
"they usually hunt at night". How do they know it's night, it's pitch black?
Very kool
Do you think octopuses are one of the most exciting non-man animals?
It's important to release the octopus where you got him but the aquarium octopus is just " good luck buddy "😂
Wow both parents die? Thats dedication to your children right there
Where they live?
I mean the depth of they are living

Squidward Tentacles 😂😂
It's sad to see the giant female octopus stays with her eggs until they hatch then die 😢😢
It's so weird that one of the most intelligent creatures on Earth have such a short lifespan (about 5 years, max). A 5 year old human is a complete idiot compared to a 5 year old octopus. I wonder what a 60 year old octopus would be like.
It doesn't totally work that way. Larger brains take longer to develop. An octoupus at 3-5 years has reached its full capacity.
Why did you say it was an invertebrate?
Can you tell me what this music is please?! Thanks

I love octopus
Say, I reminds me of the Giant octopus from Peter Pan 2: Return to Neverland.
The octopus is nightmare jet fuel.
So this was his new flava
Big red
Personality
Scheming, hungry, goofy, mischievous, surly, grumpy and determined. When he attempted eat Captain Hook.
These pacific ones got an attitude problem. The other ones are pretty cool.
Giant octopi have poison dmg ????
Giant octopus: Guests, guests are nice sometime.. ;)
“Great Scott! No sooner do I rid meself of that cursed big octopus and now this!”
―Captain Hook
Kraken!!
It’s squidward 🦑
great! but the person who is narrating it sounds tired😅😂
Narrator sounds great to me, not hurried or fake excitedly sounding or speaking rapidly on purpose because a listener might be lost. Pace of speech was just right.
나만 한글 인가...!
Omggggg so scary 😟
Don't be, they're pretty gentle and kinda cute
Fredrick
It’s also a sub species in Antarctica 🇦🇶 /lake Vostok that has 14 tentacles 🐙. Telekinesis , & high intelligence 💯. Shxt was like a kraken they said … killed dr padelco while they was studying it
RUFF RUFF BAAAAAAAARK!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They really are smart as fuck, they even tell you if they like people or not,
30 feet across???? no fucking way, thats literally the kraken dude
Squidward?
And they say pokemon ain't real.
hi
Peter Pan 2: Return to Never Land
In the movie, the Octopus replaces as Captain Hook's enemy. The Octopus smacks his suction cups together whenever he happens to come by, which serves as a warning to Hook. (his butt also follows the sound of the beat) When Captain Hook and his crew return from London, they tie Jane up in a bag on a net and throw some chum overboard to lure the Octopus towards Jane so that, when Peter rescues her, he'll get eaten by the Octopus too and Captain Hook will have his revenge. When Peter Pan arrives, Hook tells him that Jane is Wendy and cuts the bag with his sword, sending Jane overboard and into the water with the Octopus, and Peter and Tinker Bell both dive in after her. When both of them and the Octopus go under, all that comes up is Peter's hat, and Hook believes that he has finally gotten his revenge on Peter Pan, but then Peter Pan and Tinkerbell come back up with Jane in the bag and Tinkerbell squirts pixie dust on the Octopus, making the sea animal fall on the Jolly Roger, right on top of Hook. Upon tasting the captain, The Octopus mistakes Hook for a delicious fish and grabs Hook with his tentacles dragging him back into the water, but the captain is able to slip from the octopus grasp sending him flying back onto the ship.
Later on, when Mr. Smee is giving Hook a foot massage, the Octopus appears and scares Hook and Mr. Smee shoos him away, but before he leaves he squirts water at Smee, to which he replies, "At least the big octopuses had manners."
Later on, when Jane saves Peter Pan from Hook, Hook grabs Jane, but Peter throws his sword at the rope to save Jane from Hook again. Hook fell through the ship (because Peter threw an anchor on top of him), into the sea and straight on top the Octopus. The Octopus faces Hook and he once again mistakes him for a fish, and the terrified pirate frantically swims back to his ship, swimming through the hole in it with The Octopus in hot pursuit. The Octopus destroys a large portion of the Jolly Roger and sinks the rest of it. Hook begs Peter to save him, but the latter declares that a good captain must go down with his ship. Hook childishly insists that he doesn't want to be a good captain and The Octopus grabs Hook with one of his tentacles to eat him, but the ship fully sinks before he can. Smee and the pirates briefly mourn their captain, but he suddenly shoots up into the air and lands in the rowboat containing his crew. The Octopus emerges and faces the pirates, this time mistaking the whole crew for fish. He licks his lips hungrily, and the terrified pirates row away from Neverland, screaming all the way, with the hungry Octopus chasing them and making sounds with his suction cups.
Pokemon 💪
Interesting. I learned something new, which is what i want, everyday I'm on this terrible planet.
TERRANCE OUT
Octopi are an incredible gift to our planet.. Not only are they smart, they're delicious. With such a short lifespan and fast growth rate, they're a very sustainable food source. 25 grams of quality protein per serving and only 150 calories. Plus nearly 95% of the octopus is edible
The Giant Pacific Octopus is not venomous.
Not really giant … ?
Looks like calamari for dinner tonight.
Calamari comes from Squid not Octopus

Defo not a squid
All i can think about if I can BBQ it
