One of the most difficult situations to go through in life is the passing of a loved one. Realizing that it is permanent and that you will never see them physically, talk to them, hear their voice, their laugh etc. One statement you may always hear is in time you will heal. Sorry, I dont and never have bought that statement and people mean well when they tell you this. Its been 21 years that I lost my mom and it still hurts. Yes, I go through days much easier but I still have my moments where tears just keep coming. However, i start remembering the awesome times that we laughed together and the sadness passes. Look, it gets easier to deal with the passing of a loved one day by day but as long as you hold them in your heart and memories, they may not be here physically but spiritually they are right there with you each and every day. So with all that said, I not only can empathize with you, I can also sympathize with you. My deepest and most sincere condolences to you and all your family on the passing of your brother. May he rest in peace. Im also very sorry for the loss of your cat. Valentino is now crossing Rainbow Bridge and no longer suffers. God Bless always...

Have you done any grief counseling? It may be helpful I know when my mom passed away last January I hardly cried. I was so busy planning her funeral and then she wanted the house sold so I had to go through all that. And then I lost my job and had to find an apartment. Long story short I didn’t think I needed grief counseling until almost a year later when it just hit out of the blue, after all the chaos surrounding her death subsided. Grief comes out of nowhere many times when you least expect it. A few times with a counselor could do some good.
