You would have to make a petition for EA to port this game to modern consoles. I personally would love to play this game on my Switch. but unfortunately, since this game didn't sell well I doubt EA will even acknowledge the existence of this game.
I'm currently using a Wiimote with a Gamecube style classic controller. I also use special software called WiinUSoft that allows me to use the Wiimote on the PC and use it as a XBox controller.
that same software also allows me to use the Wii U pro controller and almost any Wiimote attachment. but if you want to use the Wiimote on emulated Wii games on dolphin I would recommend this software because it pairs the Wiimote to your PC without the need for a pairing code. but although this software does have it's issues though. like when you turn off your Wiimote and your PC unpairs it, you will have to restart the software and resync the Wiimote to the PC with the software. but do keep in mind that this software needs SCPToolkit to work properly as a Xbox controller. www.wiinupro.com/news/wiinusoftversion30
Also man, i got this issue, i recently downloaded it on my laptop(mac) but for some reason it runs super slow at like 8 or 9 FPS (14%). The things is that other games run smooth at 60 FPS, only freekstyle has that issue. Do you have any idea on why that is? And also do you know how i can get it to run smooth?
from what I know is that Freekstyle was really CPU intensive on the GameCube. some games will run fine because they didn't take full advantage of the GameCube hardware. I do know that even on my PC there are parts where it slows down. but to fix most of the issues I go to "Config > Advanced" and enable the Emulated CPU clock override and downclock it. I turn the slider down to around 78% (379MHz).
I also make sure to enable the Dual Core feature, set the Backend to Vulkan, and set the Texture Cache to the middle to help prevent some graphical issues from happening.
I'm playing the Gamecube version on dolphin. so it would be the Z button on a Gamecube controller, R on the classic controller, R1 on a PS2/PS3 controller.
