At the start, i thought the lobby theme would be gritty and dark but instead got jabaited by the classic and calm medieval fantasy style melody!!

Nah, it does make a lot of sense. The music does have a sort of hopeful overtone but it also evokes a sort of melancholy that's very characteristic of the atmosphere of Arknights. It's not unlike the sensation of the power going out at night but someone lights a candle in the gloom, bringing warmth and light back to the world, even if it's only a little.

I hate/love that I hear of the genshin mondstat leitmotifs in this track. Then again, I do hear it in games older than genshin so it might just be the fantasy adventure leitmotif.
