I’m hearing him say a mix of, “say goodbye”, and, “sayin goodbye.” It sounds like the first bunch are say goodbye, and the closer he gets to the end of the chorus, the more it sounds like sayin goodbye.
Ems official position is that he had a gun stashed in his pants, but when he saw the kiss her ran and beat the bouncer. the gun fell and that is why they took his gun away (mentions it in we as americans), however he never used the gun in any way.

I've always heard "Sayin' goodbye to Hollywood". I just think it's a dialect thing. Most people I know kinda say "ing"s like that. It ends up sounding like one syllable "sayne"
This track is just about perfect in every way that this genre is trying to achieve.
The storytelling is incredible. The rhymes are incredible. The flow is incredible. The beat is ok. This level of self-awareness, introspection, acceptance of responsibility or failure is rarely seen or expressed these days.
The creativity and IQ are incredible. I mean, what rapper has so perfectly used a common concept like
“It’s like the boy in the bubble who never could adapt, I’m trapped.”
That’s a masterclass of writing, and not forced at all, it is literally a perfect metaphor for everything he’s trying to explain in the third verse.
The Eminem Show is exclusively made up of songs at this level of quality. So good!

it sounds like hes saying "sayin goodbye sayin goodbye to hollywood", he just says the in part alittle more quite than the say when he says sayin goodbye to hollywood and it kinda sounds more like sayn goodbye to hollywood sayn goodbye to hollywood cause a couple times he even says im before he says sayin the last couple times he says it in the second chorus.
