Sadly I was there that day at Six Flags! We pulled in the parking lot going to see Golden Earring, we saw the smoke and thought it was the barbecue pits!!we are just got in through the entrance, and that's when the front of the castle fell back onto the trailers.2Hours later they Closed the park down. It's really fucking sad that they didn't even put a monument up!!

Terrifying! Back in the '80s people used lighters so they could see. Now we have cell phones to light our way. This horrific inferno could have been prevented!
Yes, but the management should have developed something to take out the fire (especially when you have these much flammables out there)... Feel sad for the people who lost their lives... They were just there for some fun☹️
Very tragic ,most of these accidents were not in the US , these rides were most likely lookalike knockoffs. The Sux flags incident obviously could have and should have had a very different ending. I'm always hearing negatives about amusement rides ,usually it's not the ride. Improper setup and operator error is in many cases ,the main problem. If maintained and run properly these accidents wouldn't happen. If you drive erratically or impaired ,it's a tragedy waiting to happen ,you can't blame the car ,in most cases. That being said ,innocent people were killed. I ask the operator on haunted attractions if there are fire exits. If they tell you they're not sure ,don't ride. Check your own restraints when riding ,alert operator if for don't feel safe. Also ,follow the rules and warnings on amusement rides. If you see a ride operator on a cell phone ,call them out ,and report them to management. You wouldn't ride in a car that had a broken door latch .So be pro active. That being said ,the industry is very safe. And obviously pray for the families who were affected in these cases.
