But will you still be using an external monitor to record regardless? I’ve heard that it’s just so much easier to get things in focus and make sure your exposure is on point when you have a monitor. I have an R and am looking to get the Atomos Ninja V because the R5 is kinda too expensive for me right now.
If you asked me this a few weeks ago, I would have said get the Ninja for sure. But I've been doing some pretty thorough testing with the R and the R5 and I've noticed more noise in the shadows with the 10bit recording over the 8bit internal recording on the R. I'm actually a little torn on that decision right now. I have no regrets about the Ninja. If nothing else, it's great to have the 5" monitor. Maybe pass on it if you're going a lot of low light filming. 🤷♂️
Liked the film. Think you missed an opportunity to tie the streaming on your couch vs exploring the stream (the stream was in the video) at that point. Might have been a little better tie-in.
@@rynfilms Yeppers! Gnar level zero, but scenery was level 11. Looking forward to kayaking the Gila River with some actual flow. I am liking doing hiking-light kayak trips, instead of bring the big raft. Except the good camera setup doesn't come along (buuuuuu).

Excelent video. I have an EOS R and I shoot in Clog 8 bit. I don t know if it s worth it to buy a Ninja V for 10 bit. What is your advice? Thank you
