On my first trip to Zihua, I was amazed that a small fishing village has SO many fantastic restaurants! I’d done a lot of research on Tripadvisor, came up with a list of about 40 places I wanted to try! We are chipping away at the list as much as we can. Some you mentioned & others I’ll be adding to the list! I’ve very rarely been disappointed, & it becomes hard to try new ones sometimes because we love so many of them! We always have breakfast at Carmelita’s several times. Margaritas and Il Mare are also favorites.
I absolutely fell in love with Zihua, I feel like I leave a piece of my heart & soul there every time! We’ve been back a couple times & are trying to go every year. Just returned from 2 weeks and I miss it so much already! Thank you for your channel & all the great ideas! You are living my dream- I’m looking into condos & hope to join you one day!

    Thanks for the recommendations, guys.
We were not able to get to Zihuatanejo this year as my girlfriend tested positive for COVID-19 when we were in Ixtapa this past January.
We will definitely try them up next year. We are hoping to go down there for 1 month.
3 weeks in Ixtapa and 1 week in Zihuatanejo.
    Stay safe guys.

Thank you for posting these restsurants. Was happy to see some old favorites and get ideas for new places to try. IL Mare at La Ropa is also probably my favorite. I love Puerta del Sol as well. We usually stay at Villa Mexicana or the Catalina on La Ropa, so I sometimes just go to the same restaurants there year after year. Your video has given me ideas for new places to try.
Do you guys ever eat out in Ixtapa? I haven't stated there in years, but Soleiado on Ixtapa Blvd. was a favorite. We would eat breakfast there most days. And El Galeon at the Marina Ixtapa was another favorite. Tuna steak and lobster stuffed chicken medallions was our standard order.
    Do you ever

We go to Ixtapa occasionally. There are lots of good restaurants there, too! We'll have to check out El Galeon. Never even heard of it!

Hey y’all, Just booked my first trip to Z. I’ve never been there. I’ve been everywhere else in Mexico but not there. We’re staying at La Brisas in Ixtapa.. I’m hesitant to rent a car but do you think that would be worthwhile? Or is it better just to taxi or colectivos. We always rent a scooter when we’re in Cozumel but not sure that this is a good place for that. Would love to ask you some questions. I plan on doing some scuba diving. What are some other things we must do while we’re there. We like the small Taquerias and cheap eats. You went pretty fast on your restaurant list so maybe a list in your description would be great. Our favorite is Al Pastor. We’ll be there in September.

Awesome! Great scuba diving in Zihua. Ixtapa has all the resorts, but Zihua will have most the local eats. Have a great time!

You will LOVE Las Brisas! We’ve stayed there 3 times. I always want to check out places to stay in Zihua (Ixtapa is beautiful, but we prefer the vibe of Zihua.) But we cant bring ourselves to stay anywhere but Las Brisas. The essentially private beach is paradise! Very strong waves, be careful- but my 12 yr-old braved them this year, he had a blast. It is a beautiful hotel & grounds, we feel like we’re in an Indiana Jones-type lost temple, lol. I appreciate the architecture & the design of the ocean-view verandas is genius. Can you tell I love it there? 😂
If I may offer my two cents:
We’ve always taken taxis. Zihua is just a few minutes drive & the bellhops will quickly assist you in calling taxis. The drivers are all very friendly. We have a favorite, Jorge. If you happen to meet him, tell him Sunny says “hi.” He was kind enuf to take us on a tour of different parts of the area, including a nature preserve. He brought cabbages for my son to feed to the iguanas- I’ve never seen so many in my life! It was an amazing experience.
I second the recommendations for Il Mare, Margaritas & Carmelita’s. Another great spot for cheap eats is Any’s- we like the tamales & pozole. Haven’t tried La Papa Loca, but I’ve heard the Al Pastor is good. The pier & boardwalk are fun to walk around. There are often different things going on at the basketball court. In addition to the weather & scenery, the lovely people are the reason we fell in love with Zihua. Have a fantastic trip!

Do you have any Ixtapa recommendations? I’ve been here for 2 days now and haven’t had the best food. We did like the restaurant called Chili Beans for a late dinner and Mama Norma for breakfast but everything else has been pretty pricey and subpar. Staying in Ixtapa until Dec 1 and then Zihu Dec. 1-4. Thank you!

There are some nice restaurants in Ixtapa but they are a little more expensive. Hope you find some good places to eat while you are there!

Thank you! That was me posting under my boyfriends page. We didn’t love Ixtapa food but we’re staying in Zihu now for the next 4 days. Going to try out some of your recommendations.

High end in Mexico is a waste of money. The best food is the cheapest and best!
