you say you want to learn complex strumming patterns, yet as a person playing uke for nearly a year I thought the fact you could play DUUDUUDDU pretty amazing. I'm trying to learn it from this video and I'm struggling quite a bit lol
Don't be too hard on yourself. You are doing great. My advice to beginners is to practice very frequently, but for a very short time. Like 5 minutes every day. That way you build up your callouses. As you get better, you should probably practice for a longer period of time. Great job.
I actually got my first uke (also a Luna ^^) 2.5 weeks ago, and I love it, but when I'm not good at something at first, I can get discouraged really quickly, but these videos actually do help, so thank you very much 🖤🖤
You’re sounding so good! I’ve been playing for about a year and a half and practiced much like you the first probably hmm idk year? Funnily enough I got reinspired when I found your’s and your sister’s channels. I found one of your videos of you trying to follow her tutorials and then it kicked off from there haha.
I have also been playing for 6 months and I have learned so barre cords, strumming patterns, and muting the strings, I have learned about 60 songs and I’m so proud of myself 😂❤️
ive been playing for 4 months and i can do some barre chords, i really want to learn some strumming patterns with mutes in them but i feel like for how long i've been learning i know a pretty decent amount if chords considering a few are barre or half barre chords, also i realllyyyy need to get better at reading tablatures i just take so long to play like that unless you give me chords and a constant fingerstyle pattern. But anyways practice is key and improvements do come, no matter how hard it seems
I've been playing for 6 months too. I can play all chords with no problems, strumming patterns and bar chords, so I've started learning fingerstyle such as Bodysurfing by Honoka and Azita. I'm really not about to give up on the ukulele! For all the people who think about quiting the ukulele DON-T. You JUST have to practice as much as possible (personally i practice all days 8-9 hours) if you're telling yourself "i can't do it" DONT WORRY! I WILL DO IT BUT ANOTHER DAY. PATIENCE!
I take a little ukelele and play in my car for 15 minutes a day at lunchtime when I’m at work. I’m just learning to sing along with playing. We all move at our on pace. Keep at it you’re doing great!
Hello Eden! I'm from Argentina, thank you so much for your videos. It's really nice to see someone struggle with the things I'm struggling with, and see you make progress as you go on practising! This video is definitely inspiring to me ♥
I do an hour a day. Helps that I have a daughter who loves the snot out of listening to me play (no matter how bad) and watching Eden struggle too. Misery loves company after all. But then I am less than a month in. Only skies from where I am standing :D
Yass so proud of you!! I've been playing for about a year now and it's so therapeutic for me that I practice 30 mins - 2 hours every day and it makes such a difference but I know not everyone has so much time! I recommend the app Yousician if you want to play more consistently and want to get better with your technique in general instead of only learning songs. You can practice about half an hour every day for free and they have great lessons!!
I pick up my brother's ukulele and practise it from time to time and I'm glad I learnt C, F, Am, G, Gm, E and D. But that is all. It's really hard for me changing keys and strumming XD But seeing you progress really inspired me, I hope to learn and practise more now. Thank you :3
Girl you are so good at ukulele. In no time you will be just as good as you sister. Maybe I should start practicing my ukulele. I would be amazed if I sounded like that after 6 months.
I’m planning to learn 2 months worth of strumming, switching chords, and learning them. I think it’s best for me to do that before I start complex songs.
I really Stan you and your sis! Love you guys sm! You got so much better playing ukelele! You guys inspire me so much! I can't wait to get enough money to buy my own ukelele! I'm so excited to play one! Omg good luck 💕 I hope you have a fantastic day as well!
Ive played the ukulele for about 3 months now and I practiced the first week with strumming different patterns and transitioning. Once i got that doen I started singing my favorite songs at 2-3 weeks into it and now im trying to do fingerpicking which im finding rlly fun and im able to play the riff of un poco loco from the movie coco in 30-50 minutes. Xd Im glad I can join many people along the journey to get better at the ukulele.
What ukes do you recommend? I am looking to buy a concert size. I also don't want to spend over 100$. Also GREAT job! So proud of you and your progress
i little advice for strumming and getting a better sound out of your uke: try strumming down with all four fingers and up with your thumb. that’ll initiate the movement from your wrist rather than your fingers (also your wrist is stronger than your fingers so more stamina!)
Gurl! You know I love your voice. And even though you havent been practicing as much, singing and strumming is hard and you did great. I prefer to just play while my hubby sings. I know your sis is helping you but I found "ukuleke underground" on yt and they show you the chords while they sing and play. So i write the whole song down with the chords above and I practice learning the chords and transitions on my own and then i go back and practice along with them. It works for me. But i think you have done alot better since that 2 month vid! Keep going!!! 🙌🤙💗
That was awesome! You improved so much! It was grumpy Eden to happy and proud Eden! Yay! I would practice everyday but I don't know how to tune my uke! Lol I only got it yesterday :)
Hey that's sounds cool and I'm really motivated .... I just had a question that is it really imp to learn guitar before learning ukelele or can I just start with the ukelele ... !??
Hi! I'm a beginner, just a week old, and I was hoping to get to your level soon 😊 What are the chords you used when you strum the DUUDUUDU pattern? Is there a particular song for that? It sounds great! I'd love to learn it 😊
Thanks! And I would just sing and listen to the song separately, and then strum while humming. It took me quite awhile but I just kept practicing and practicing! It helped me to sing and do single down strums first. Hopefully this helps :)
you so lucky, you had a sister to teach you, I am trying to learn it flying solo.. and Im stuggling the same as you did, sore fingers, not being able to play a single chord except C and A minor
I've been playing about 6 months too and I started out practicing every day but that went out the window pretty quickly 😂😂😭 I can sing and strum at the same time but only if it's DDU UDU lmaooo
I’ve had mine for 4 months and at first I was all in every day for like 4 hours a day and learned so much but these last 3 months I picked up my ukulele like 3 times a month lol I need to get it together
Well I've been doing it for about as long as you and you're much better than me. Haha. I actually subscribed to elise to learn. If it wasn't for her I wouldn't have a clue haha 😀
!!! OH MY GOSH I LOVE THIS SO MUCH !!!
Wow! You have the same surname as Eden! WHAT A COINCIDENCE!
ER MER GERSH THANKSSSS !!!
Hey, You! They are siblings!

Indeed! Now I feel like a fool!
I am not sure what this was, but it felt right. I am very sorry.
we love a sister supporting a sister
Damn its been six months already. Time flies enjoy the ride.
For not practicing much I think you’re doing a great job. progress not perfection!!
thanks!!!
Two videos in the same day of my fav UA-cam sisters, I mean my day is just getting perfect
you say you want to learn complex strumming patterns, yet as a person playing uke for nearly a year I thought the fact you could play DUUDUUDDU pretty amazing. I'm trying to learn it from this video and I'm struggling quite a bit lol

"Do as I say, not as I do" 😂😂😂
It’s so amazing how our brains can start working to bring all of the pieces together. I am a week into playing my ukulele and love it!
okay but you're actually really good!!! congrats
thanks!!
Omg I have been subscribed even before you had any videos and you have improved so much!!💕💕
Thanks, sweetie!!!
6 months in already? You really have come along way and doing really well. Looking forward to your 6 month guitar progress ☺
Soooo proud of Youuuuuuu! I can’t sing and strum at the same time yet and I’ve had a uke for 2 months eek.
Thank you, and just keep practicing!
It’s been 2 years so…how are you doing now?
I actually got my first uke (also a Luna ^^) 2.5 weeks ago, and I love it, but when I'm not good at something at first, I can get discouraged really quickly, but these videos actually do help, so thank you very much 🖤🖤
Thanks and good luck with your playing :)
Ah, you’re still really good! But don’t go to hard on yourself! I know you could improve!! P.S I’m a new fan and you’re really funny! C:
You are so sweet, thanks!!
Eden Ecklund yw!!💓

Do you know the app yousician? It's a great app were you can learn chords and fingerpicking paterns. Maybe it can help you!
Just seen this after watching your sisters 2 year progress video. You are both so amazingly positive it’s brought such a smile and happiness
You became so great at ukulele I am looking forward for a sister ukulele challenge xD I love your videos so much 😊
thank you!!

The whole family is full of talent
Eden you are so inspirational and encouraging!!! Thanks to you and your sister I want to play ukulele and I should be ordering one soon!! Thank you!!
You are so sweet! I am excited that you are getting a ukulele! Good luck :)

WHAT?! ITS BEEN SIX MONTHS??? Wow I feel like the video of Elise teaching you how to play was like a week ago! You really improved Eden! Great job!!
thanks!!
I take a little ukelele and play in my car for 15 minutes a day at lunchtime when I’m at work. I’m just learning to sing along with playing. We all move at our on pace. Keep at it you’re doing great!
You're doing great! I started playing in late Dec myself... strumming has been a crazy time! It's been a challenge!
Hello Eden! I'm from Argentina, thank you so much for your videos. It's really nice to see someone struggle with the things I'm struggling with, and see you make progress as you go on practising!
This video is definitely inspiring to me ♥
That makes me so happy, thanks!!
Awesome!! Any hints on playing Bb? I STILL can’t barr the first fret E and G strings while reaching for the 2nd and 3rd frets! Ugh
you and Elise sing in a very similar style
I do an hour a day. Helps that I have a daughter who loves the snot out of listening to me play (no matter how bad) and watching Eden struggle too. Misery loves company after all.
But then I am less than a month in. Only skies from where I am standing :D

You have done a great job, carry on now you have a good base to build on.
You practice when you want. How often is not set in stone. You are doing wonderfully. You and Elise will be doing duets in no time.
I really Stan you and your sis! Love you guys sm! You got so much better playing ukelele! You guys inspire me so much! I can't wait to get enough money to buy my own ukelele! I'm so excited to play one! Omg good luck 💕 I hope you have a fantastic day as well!
You are very sweet, thanks!!
Practice makes progress, not perfect❤
I like to say “ practice makes *permanent* “ instead of *perfect*
Ive played the ukulele for about 3 months now and I practiced the first week with strumming different patterns and transitioning. Holy guacamole you are so good and beautiful!!! I love you!!! ❤️❤️❤️

Wow, really good, I just started to play the ukulele 😊✌🏻
i little advice for strumming and getting a better sound out of your uke: try strumming down with all four fingers and up with your thumb. that’ll initiate the movement from your wrist rather than your fingers (also your wrist is stronger than your fingers so more stamina!)
I LOVE HOW EXCITED YOU ARE
SO MUCH JOY

Hey that's sounds cool and I'm really motivated .... I just had a question that is it really imp to learn guitar before learning ukelele or can I just start with the ukelele ... !??
Knowing how to play guitar makes it easier to play ukulele but it is not that important...I never played guitar before playing ukulele :)
So awesome Eden! I love your personality 😂❤️
Thank you!!
Hi! I'm a beginner, just a week old, and I was hoping to get to your level soon 😊 What are the chords you used when you strum the DUUDUUDU pattern? Is there a particular song for that? It sounds great! I'd love to learn it 😊
