    Thank you so much for caring to clarify for others who are also trying to go down the path of skin care. I am currently an LVN and am starting aesthetician school tomorrow to add onto what I already have. Wish me luck! 👍🏻

    So glad I watched this! I didn't want to go right into college for nursing so I planned on getting my CNA first while I go to school for esthetics. THEN work as an esthetician (fun fun) while going to nursing school lol hopefully it pans out well!💫

    Hi I was so happy to come across your videos . I am a L & D nurse and want to become an Aesthetic Nurse. I was thinking of doing an medical Esthetician program where I could learn foundations and then take some dermafillers and dermamodulator certifications. When you got your first job at the med spa did you also have experience or did they hire you with just your schooling and certifications?
    Thank you

      The Esthetic Nurse I’m a nurse, since nursing school have been wanting to do aesthetics. My question is do I have to go back to school to do what an esthetician does? Or would going to the National Laser institute take the laser, Botox, filler course be sufficient?

    What about states that don't require you to be an RN to be a medical esthetician. In my research, there is not a program for medical esthetics. I'm going for esthetician's license this year and ultimately want to work under a dermatologist or in a med spa. I wasn't aware that you need to be certified separately to do botox/fillers, which is absolutely something I want to do. Where do I look to get certified for that?

    • @meganalex302
      @meganalex302 5 років тому

      Akyra Warren Some med spas actually train you or take you to training for Botox and fillers. In TN you only need a LPN to be a cosmetic nurse

      This is my question. I don't want to be a Nurse. However, I would need to master the Facial Anatomy.

    • @rc4083

      You can get an LPN but it’ll be way more difficult to get a job. Most places only want experienced nurses.

    I'd love to learn more about what kind of school you went to for laser etc..was it the national laser institute? I can't find many schools online that seem legitimate for esthetician licensing post RN

      most of these schools are in Dallas TX and they are expensive. it's about 10 to 20 thousand dollars. depend on what you want to do.

      I went to the institute for laser medicine in Philadelphia, but you will learn the laser specific to your job on the job for free! Instead I would pay to gain a dermatology certificate- this knowledge will be SO VALUABLE and worth it!

    in NJ you have to be a physician to do botox, fillers, and lasers which sucks. I want to become an esthetician first than do advanced training in another school to do these things.

    Hello dear! I need to ask you a question. But first, I'll introduce myself. I have been a beautician for 15 years in Brazil. Working with IPL, Peeling Chemicals, Micro Needle, Micro Dermabrasion, Radiofrequency, Plasma Jet, Ultrasonic Peeling and other aesthetic procedures. I love all this! I did a nursing school, (Bachelor of Nursing). I am in Post Graduation of Advanced Estetica that authorizes me to work with Fillers, Botox, Sclerotherapy, and others. Now my question: Where do I get my license, by the Nursing or Hair Council or by the Department / Licensing and Records Commission? Help me please! Thank you!

    Thanks for this helpful video!!
    I am currently a freshmen in community college in VA and I am stuck whether to get my associates with an RN or transfer to a 4 year college to get my BSN. Either way I will still have to go to beauty school after. Right now I think I might choose to get my bsn for more options but I’m not sure yet, what would you recommend I do currently and after I am done to get experience that jobs will prefer me to have? Also, what kinds of certifications can you get? Thanks!! ❤️

    Thanks for the info! Im interested in making this my career but I am very confused on where to start. Do you suggest going into school to get an esthetics certificate & then do a nursing program? I am interested more in the botox fillers & laser aspect but i have no experience at all. Its very confusing. Thank you

    I've been wondering if instead of a rn I could do esthetics then medical assistant to further my career.

    • @theestheticnurse7508
      @theestheticnurse7508  6 років тому

      Mariah Janee you would be marketable and knowledgeable but limited in what treatments you could perform- ultimately you would be performing under the scope of an esthetician as a medical assistant would not increase your scope very much. There are loopholes that are possible depending on your doctors specific delegation but I don’t love that route because it really puts a patient at risk by bypassing a lot of education

    • @rc4083
      @rc4083 4 роки тому

      That’s...not furthering your career. You get to do some things as an esthetician but you’ll never be allowed to give fillers or injections. You need to get a degree for aesthetic nursing.

    I am a LPN in Florida and I am going back for my Esthetician license. If there any schools your recommend? Also once you got you facial license did you just go to different Cosmetic dr offices and drop your resume off? Lol sorry I just don’t ever see many job listings

    • @theestheticnurse7508
      @theestheticnurse7508  6 років тому

      Alexis Steinmueller I believe a basic esthetics program is all you need to have a solid resume with your LPN. If you do not have job posting in your area, showing your face with a resume can open a lot of doors. With the rise of technology people can overlook the power of networking in person!

    I would like to just rent a small building space to do micro-needling with a Derma Pen, and I would like to be able to do chemical peels such as TCA....providing treatments for acne scars. And maybe some deep skin facials. That's all I would like to do. What certification and license do I need and can I do this on my own, or do I need Dr.'s supervision in my office, as I provide these services? Please let me know soon. I figured that I can make A LOT of money if I can open my own shop, just doing the things that I mentioned above. I am a LPN. PLEASE HELP! Thanks!

    • @theestheticnurse7508
      @theestheticnurse7508  6 років тому

      crystal billiot esthetician are not able to perform below the epidermis without oversight from an MD, since you are an LPN, I would consult with the company and your states regulations.

    How do you acquire a dermatology certificate?

    • @rc4083
      @rc4083 4 роки тому

      Ok wow. You don’t get a certificate for dermatology. Dermatologists are DOCTORS. you have to go to 4 years of college for your degree, then med school and residencies which are Atleast a decade long. You’re either confused on the profession you’re wanting to do, or you really need to spend time researching and make sure you’re committed to dedicating every moment of your free time to dermatology. This girl isn’t a dermatologist. She’s an aesthetic nurse.

    I know this video isn’t a new post but I am an RN that’s looking into the esthetician’s aspect of nursing but don’t know where to really start. So this esthetic course takes 3-4 months would you know where I can find more info on this course? It seems like the programs are much longer.

  • @rosexavier7883
    @rosexavier7883 6 років тому +1

    I'm an RN with my BSN. It cost me about 50.000 to become a nurse and a lot of work. The aesthetic program cost about 20.000. Most places want you to have experience and they pay no more than 35 an hour. so you do the math. If you love it, is one thing. if you are just doing it for the money, you might want to do something else.
